Chapter 94: Swear Fealty
"Looks like it works fairly well..." seeing that the massive flora on top of the Island Orca’s body is starting to collapse as if the air around them is compressing them into a small sphere, Azrael smiles as he realizes that despite coexisting, there’s no way for the giant monster to reign over the things living on its back, hence why the purging that is happening right now.
As much as the Island Orca wants to remove these plants damaging it in an instant, it needs to be careful with how it uses its power especially since some of the floras are already attached to its back, and one wrong move will make it so that even its own flesh will be torn apart by its attack and compressed into a spherical amalgamation of everything that was caught in the radius of said attack.
This also gives the young man an opportunity to take a breather as he starts thinking of ways to deal with the Island Orca now, feeling like he shouldn’t rely on the luck of those two previous skills fusing, fearing that his lucky streak might end in an unexpected moment, and he just couldn’t allow that unexpected moment to be now.
’Given how hard it is to search for this bastard previously, it will be even harder now if I or it escape...’ Azrael thought to himself, knowing that this is the only chance for him to subjugate this monster and complete the main quest of the second floor, or else, he might really spend months, if not years searching for this monster once again.
’This looks like a good option... partnered with this...’ looking at his arsenal of active and passive skills trying to think of the best combinations that he can use to deal damage against the Island Orca, Azrael’s eyes land on one active and one passive skill, hoping that this can introduce a change and possibly weaken the boss monster somehow.
[Poison-Absorbing Blood (Passive)]
[Grants the skill owner the ability to constantly absorb poison that comes into contact with their body, refining it into the blood and absorbing the poison’s property. The property doesn’t affect the skill owner; however, their blood will contain all the properties of all the poisons they absorbed.]
[Effects: Absorb the traits of all the poison that will ever come into contact with the skill owner’s body into their blood, turning their blood into a highly dangerous weapon if this passive skill is developed properly.]
’Good thing I have the Absolute Poison Immunity as well, if not, how could I even improve this skill?’ as he recalls the past weeks of exploration on the path to the ocean, to the Island Orca, Azrael remembers just how much poisonous flora and fauna he had consumed just to increase the level of toxicity of his blood, a weapon that he still hopes to work against this boss monster despite the fact that it never worked on the four Epic-class monsters that he faced before fighting against the guardian of this floor.
Slashing the night black sword on his hand and creating a large gash that oozes his blood constantly from it, Azrael smiles as he just let it happen, the improvement of his control over his Absolute Regeneration ability being shown as the wound refuses to close up even after moments passed already, and yet despite that, he is still going strong and not showing any signs of dizziness from the blood loss, as his body is still consistently producing blood to maintain proper function.
