Chapter 35: Level Up
Wind blows in a lush green forest that carries the immense vitality and life force of the trees in the surroundings, said vitality making sure that the creatures other than trees are well nourished as well, making it so that this forest is not just sanctuary of trees towering over a couple of dozens of meters in the air, but also home to creatures and monsters with size than can be described as anything else but normal.
And yet surprisingly, inside this terrifying forest filled with monster’s possessing might that can easily break any normal ascender in half, a young man is leisurely travelling, in his shoulders a bloodied, dead beast with its carcass emitting a sanguine smell all around, filling the area with what can only be described as an extremely attractive scent to other monsters, making them flock towards the direction where this dead beast is.
Meanwhile, the young man carrying this beast on his shoulders, closing his eyes, felt the movement of more than a dozen different monsters approaching his location, said monsters possessing strength enough to defeat any average ascenders who are challenging this floor, and yet, the confident smile on this young man’s face is more than enough for anyone to tell that he is anything but normal.
"Hahaha, this is really one hell of a good hunting method" finally seeing the monsters approaching his location with his own eyes, the young man then throws the monster on his shoulders away, drawing a sword from its scabbard securely mounted on his waist, said sword of a completely pure black of color, as emitting a murderous air around it and making most of the monsters hesitate whether it is worth it trying to pounce on someone like that.
"Let’s eat then, partner" looking at the sword in his hand, the young man then lifts it up as he talks to it as if the object is a living being, something that may or may not be proven by the fact that said sword’s blade oscillates and emits a shrill, blood-curdling scream the moment that the young man finishes his words, this response only making the young man more satisfied with the sword in his hand.
"Hahaha, looks like not everyone is scared of you!" looking at the approaching monster, the young man said, seemingly towards the sword once again, this monster being given quite the shock as the young man swung his weapon even if he is still a few meters away from the target, making the beast wonder what sort of idiot would attack an enemy still outside of their range.
In fact, the monster is already smart enough for it to mock like that in its own mind, as its thoughts is a fundamental truth, pointing on how pointless can such an attack be, however, what its meager brain fails to realize is the fact that not all attacks are something that it can physically see, and that fatal miscalculation is something more than enough to cost it, its very own life.
