Chasing Back His Beloved Beast Husbands

Chapter 142-Caught red-handed

"He’s the one. You saw the mark," a haunting voice inside Fior’s mind reminded for the umpteenth time.

"I saw," Fior responded. His eyes locked on Ssirel. "Why do you think I’m sticking close to him. I must get to the bottom of how he is the one."

"This changes everything!"

"I am aware of that too," Fior took a deep breath. Ssirel had changed the game and the his stance entirely with one move. "And trust me, I know what to do."

He thought back to the scene when Ssirel caught him red-handed at his schemes.

~

Right after he triggered Sseraphis and watched Nytherael and Aeltharion drag him in the underwater palace.

Fior turned around, unleashed his wings and shot up to the sky and flew towards Ocov. His mind was set on the next phase of the plan that he failed to notice the shadow following him down below on the ground.

He raced to Aeltharion, Nytherael and Sseraphis’ house that they all stayed in, he had to seize the moment while Sseraphis was weak and his lovers were emotional, for his plan to work.

He arrived about a half and hour later and sneaked in unnoticed. Fairy Zarathia had set up barriers around the house as it now served as prison for Hadrian.

Fior didn’t break the barrier, he simply found a loophole on it and slipped right in. Once inside, he found Hadrian in his room, unattended and unwatched.

The beast was too weak to break the barrier and flee and with death lingering at his door, he wasn’t going anywhere.

Fior blocked his nose. The smell of blood and sickness reeked inside the chamber that it made it hard for him to breath.

Hadrian instantly sensed that someone had entered, he opened his heavy lids and looked in Fior’s direction.

"What... What are ...you..."

"Hush!" Fior signalled for him to stop talking. "I’m not hear to listen to you struggle to speak. I am here to offer you a chance at revenge over the one played you to this state," he went straight to the point.

The faster his task got done, the quicker he can leave that room stained with the scent of lingering death.

Hadrian raised an eyebrow.

"How do you feel about sending Sseraphis to the afterlife before you find yourself there?"

The offer he made was too tempting and too sweet for Hadrian to refuse. All day and night, stuck in that bed with no way out, was pure torture. It gave his mind time to dream of a thousand ways to kill Sseraphis.

However, at that state, even a fly could win in a fight with him. He stood no chance against Sseraphis. Not to mention how sly and cunning that snake was. Always having an ace up his sleeve and acting opposite of expectations.

Hadrian raised another eyebrow. He avoided talking, asking the questions he had would take him forever and that would waste both their times.

"I have it on good knowledge that Sseraphis is wounded, and currently receiving treatment in his underwater palace, you’ve been there, remember," Fior drew closer to the bed.

Hadrian glanced into his bright golden eyes. Doubt spread across his mind. The last he checked, Fior was Aeltharion’s right hand dragon, his most trusted friend. It didn’t make sense for him to be plotting against Aeltharion.

’Why?’ he forced his energy to form a connection with him to ask.

"My reasons are mine to worry about and yours..." Fior sneered, "Well, let’s just say for the moment our interests are aligned," he stated. "I want to destroy the three of them and you want Sseraphis to pay for tricking you. It’s a win-win," he pulled out a sheet of paper from his pocket and handed it to Hadrian. "It’s a forbidden technique banned over a eight hundred years ago. It should do the trick."

Hadrian looked him up and thought he was joking. ’In my condition, how do you expect me to...’

"Not you, others..." He filled Hadrian in on the desperation he caught a glimpse of in the four beasts. He expressed that he had a feeling they saw something in their visions that they were desperate to change. "Can you see what they saw and use it to get them to do your bidding? I’ve often found that betrayal hurts deeply when it comes from close friends and allies."

’You’re brutal,’ Hadrian praised, his pale and bluish lips curling up into a smile. He closed his eyes and focused, narrowing his search into the visions that were revealed that day to solely the four beasts.

Before long, he saw the reason why the four were desperate as Fior described.

’Seize the chance while Sseraphis is wounded and weak to launch a surprise attack," he brushed away the hairs clinging to Hadrian’s face. "I’ll be watching. Impress me," he added.

’It will be my... Pleasure,’ Hadrian gave his word. Even if it was the last thing he did, he was determined to end Sseraphis before he dies.

"I’ll leave now," Fior excused himself and walked out the way he came. His heart felt light and happy as he imagined watching the final show of Sseraphis going to the afterlife and the impact it’ll have on Aeltharion and Nytherael. "I’ll be your well wisher to your eyes and dig your graves when your backs are turned," he said, proudly.

"You want to kill my brother?" He heard and froze.

Fior veered around in sheer panic. He was stunned to find Ssirel standing there, his eyes cold and unfeeling unlike his usually devilish gaze that held mischief and stubbornness.

"You followed me?"

He took a deep breath to control his worries and faced Ssirel with a calmness he had never shown outsiders before.

"You shouldn’t have done that."

"Why? You didn’t want me to see that you are plotting to kill my brother?"

"Ssirel, its not what it looks like..."

"Really? Because it looks to me like you want my brother dead and your care and loyalty for Aeltharion is nothing but a fake facade," he called Fior out. "I’m warning my brother of your scheme," Ssirel said.

As he moved to leave, Fior grabbed his robes to stop him. He grabbed too hard and too fast that the fabric tore right there.

Ssirel paused, pulled back and stared at his ruined clothes and then raised his eyes up to Fior. "Are you insane?"

Fior stopped. Stood still at the dragon-shape birthmark on Ssirel’s chest. His eyes were glued to it to the point that all of him barely reacted to Ssirel’s questioning.

’Its you!’ his heart screamed.

"It’s him. It is him!" The voice in his head joined in, happily.

Fior sighed. His eyes landed on Lagara. The branded slave beast was seated comfortably next to Ssirel like a calm and composed elegant beast from a noble family.

The mere sight of her infuriated him, and seeing her next to Ssirel pissed him off even more. He couldn’t stomach it in the slightest.

"You really are coating death," he let out and approached.

He arrived just in time to hear Ssirel say to Lagara, "I have two brother that I care about, the rest of my family, though alive... Is dead to me."

"And then there’s the love of his life... Me," he said, despite there being several chairs, he boldly sat on Ssirel’s lap and used him as a chair. "And I don’t like you," he added. "So don’t even think of touching Ssirel or I’ll chop you to pieces!" He warned and meant ever word.
