Chapter 307: The Dwarf’s Forge
The women had their pride intact, so they merely tossed him a disdainful glare before stepping aside.
"When you’re about to die, don’t beg," said one of them, crossing her arms.
Alexander kept walking without giving them much thought. He was only wearing his black combat suit, which defined his figure so tightly that more than one woman on the street drooled as they watched his dick sway with every step.
I should get some armor just in case, thought Alexander as he moved down the streets. I’ve always wanted to wield a sword... or a spear. Though I’d look pretty manly with a warhammer.
Chuckling to himself as he imagined the options, he spotted an establishment displaying an emblem of a sword crossed in front of a shield. Figuring it would be a good place to start, Alexander pushed the door open and stepped inside.
Behind the counter stood a short, bearded shopkeeper. Upon seeing Alexander enter, the fellow opened his eyes wide in surprise.
"Well damn, a human! Haven’t seen one of your kind in a while," said the shopkeeper, thumping his chest. "I am Iron Hammer, a dwarf from the dwarven kingdom of Flaming Rock. Long live the Steel King!"
His whole speech sounded over-the-top, but that was typical dwarven pride. Stories always said that dwarfs possessed great pride, an insatiable thirst for beer, and a dick as thick as the hammer they wielded in battle.
"I’m a human, my name is Alexander," said Alexander, returning the greeting.
The dwarf sized him up from top to bottom and locked his gaze onto Alexander’s crotch.
"Damn, you’re packing heat," said Iron Hammer, narrowing his eyes, "but I won’t lose!"
Without a second thought, the dwarf dropped his pants and whipped his dick out. Despite being noticeably shorter than Alexander’s, it was absurdly thick.
"Hahaha! Feel the terror of the dwarfs!" shouted Iron Hammer proudly. "I challenge you to a sword fight!"
Alexander covered his face with his hand, feeling a mix of embarrassment and disbelief.
"Come on, old man, don’t show your dick to everyone you see," said Alexander. "We’re men, and I’m not into men."
"Alright, alright, I forgot you humans are way too shy," said the dwarf, tucking his member away and pulling his pants back up. "You come to the kingdom of the fox women and you’re not a pervert? Do you even know where you are? People only come to this place for two things: to fuck and to make money. And I love fox women’s pussies... they’re fragrant, tight, and have that peach flavor. Hahaha, I could suck pussy all day!"
Alexander stayed quiet. He had no idea that was the general reputation of the kingdom, but considering everything he had seen since his arrival, he couldn’t agree more.
The dwarf adjusted his belt, leaned against the counter, and looked him up and down.
"Alright, what would you like to get?" asked Iron Hammer.
"Armor and a weapon," said Alexander.
"Okay, but it won’t be cheap," said the dwarf.
Iron Hammer stepped out from behind the counter and walked up to Alexander. He reached out and touched the fabric of his black combat suit, feeling it with expert fingers.
"Damn... a suit made of darkness spider silk," said Iron Hammer, letting out a surprised whistle. "Pretty damn well made. You definitely got this from an elf—they’re the only ones who can weave something at this level. Impressive."
The dwarf took a step back and measured his proportions with a quick glance.
"So let’s see... You don’t need full plate armor," said Iron Hammer. "I recommend shoulder guards, gauntlets, elbow pads, kneepads, steel boots, and a helmet. Instead of wearing rigid armor, leverage the resistance of your suit and just reinforce the vulnerable spots with steel. That’ll serve you better and save you a lot of coin. Let’s see what I have back here."
The dwarf waddled to the back of the workshop and began pulling out various steel pieces. He returned with the gear and started fitting it onto Alexander, tightening each leather strap with precision. Finally, he pulled out a silver combat helmet and handed it over.
Alexander put the helmet on, adjusted the visor, and checked himself out in the reflection of a polished shield.
"Now I look like a video game fighter, hahaha," said Alexander, letting out a laugh. "Bring on those dungeons so I can conquer them!"
"Aren’t you a bit too arrogant, human?" asked Iron Hammer, raising an eyebrow.
Alexander was surprised by the dwarf’s reaction when Iron Hammer continued in a harsh, serious tone:
"Dungeons are no game," said Iron Hammer, crossing his arms and staring into his eyes. "The worst demons live in there. Never take it lightly, kid, or you could unleash something that destroys this world."
Alex hadn’t expected them to exist in this world, but judging by the fellow’s gaze, dungeons were no laughing matter.
"Sorry, old man, I spoke without thinking," said Alex, dipping his head slightly.
"Don’t worry about it," said the dwarf, huffing through his nose. "As for weapons, I only have the ones on the wall. If you’re a rookie, I recommend a sword—they’re easier to use. Or pick whatever you want. For your gear, it’ll be 100 gems, and 50 for the weapon."
Alex pulled out the pouches he was carrying and dropped them onto the counter with a thud. The old man expected him to haggle, as was dwarven tradition, but it seemed this kid had money to burn.
Thinking about it, with that face and that dick, I’m not surprised, thought Iron Hammer upon seeing the pouches. Women must be lining up... Maybe he works for those other filthy rich humans.
Alexander walked over to the wall where the weapons were displayed. There were many types, from double hand axes to a luxury bow. Thinking about it, using a spear sounded pretty powerful, but it wasn’t as versatile and he didn’t want to take too many risks on his first outing. That was why he ended up picking a double-edged sword.
Upon picking it up, it felt a bit heavy but manageable. Alexander made a couple of swings through the air to test its balance and sheathed it on his back, taking advantage of the fact that it came with its own leather scabbard.
"Thanks, old man," said Alexander, saying goodbye to the dwarf.
"Come back when you need that blade sharpened, kid," answered Iron Hammer.
Alexander walked out of the shop and moved down the street. Behind the counter, the dwarf watched him leave while scratching his beard.
Damn, the kid is strong but way too lean... Interesting, thought Iron Hammer with an intrigued smile before returning to his work.
