After all, there was a major realm’s difference in power between the two Pet Beasts. That they could fight on equal footing was a testament to the terrifying power of the Melt Element—truly worthy of its status as a fusion attribute.

Standing nearby, Pei Yuanyuan was just as surprised.

She knew that the Emperor Beast possessed a fusion attribute.

That was exactly why she’d said the Emperor Beast was special.

However, naturally born Emperor Beasts were extremely rare in the Dimension Plane, so she only had a superficial understanding of them and had never seen one’s true capabilities.

Now, seeing the Emperor Beast’s astounding performance, she was stunned, but also couldn’t help but feel a thrill of excitement.

’Since Li Qian has figured out the Emperor Beast’s evolution method, it shouldn’t be a problem to ask him to help me evolve one.’

She couldn’t help but bubble with excitement at the thought of soon having an Emperor Beast of her own.

Having failed to gain any ground with Water Dragon Strangulation, the Tidal Sea Spirit didn’t pause its assault.

"Vortex!" It swung its trident, once again manipulating the currents to form a terrifying Vortex that churned toward its opponent.

"Magma Spear!" Seeing this, the Emperor Beast didn’t dare to be complacent. With a sharp grasping motion into the empty air, a long spear resembling a stone pillar erupted from the ground and into its hand.

The spear was covered in fine red lines, and if one looked closely, they would see what looked like flowing magma within.

"Lava Burst!" The Emperor Beast gripped its Magma Spear and plunged it into the ground. In an instant, terrifying magma erupted from underground.

Wielding the Magma Spear, the Emperor Beast controlled the magma, forming three terrifying waterfalls of lava that soared into the air, converged, and then came crashing down with a roar.

Faced with such a terrifying attack, a solemn light glinted in the Tidal Sea Spirit’s eyes. It brandished its trident again, adding another Skill: Surfing Technique!

RUMBLE...

RUMBLE...

The Skills collided, and deafening explosions rang out intermittently. Not far away, Pei Yuanyuan couldn’t help but give a wry smile as she watched the scene unfold.

’This battleground at my teacher’s base is probably going to be wrecked after being bombarded by such terrifying Skills.’

But she had no time to worry about that, because the battle had just taken another turn.

After unleashing the Lava Burst Skill, the Emperor Beast reappeared, its entire body now covered in a layer of dark-red Armor.

It was the Defense Skill the Emperor Beast had just cast: Magma Armor!

Clad in its Magma Armor, the Emperor Beast let out a heaven-shaking roar, then charged forward, Magma Spear in hand.

It was like a great general charging into the fray, determined to cut down its foe.

Meanwhile, a sharp glint appeared in the eyes of the trident-wielding Tidal Sea Spirit.

’If you want a close-quarters fight, then I’ll fight you to the bitter end.’

CLANG!

Soon, their weapons met with the resounding clang of metal on metal.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

The trident and Magma Spear clashed repeatedly. In between the ringing of steel, their fists weren’t idle either, as they relentlessly pummeled one another.

Watching the two Pet Beasts trade blows in close combat, Li Qian wiped a bead of nervous sweat from his forehead. ’These two seem to be getting genuinely heated.’

Many of the Tidal Sea Spirit’s scales had turned red from the burns, and some had even fallen off.

The Emperor Beast wasn’t faring much better; its Magma Armor was chipped and broken by the water blades from the Vortex.

Seeing this, Li Qian had already made his assessment: the Emperor Beast was no match for the Tidal Sea Spirit.

’How could the Emperor Beast possibly win a battle of attrition against the Tidal Sea Spirit, which possesses the Life Attribute?’

As it turned out, his guess was correct. As the battle dragged on, the Emperor Beast grew more and more battered, while the Tidal Sea Spirit, after a flash of fluorescent light, was restored to perfect condition.

The Emperor Beast was dumbfounded as it watched the Tidal Sea Spirit’s condition return to peak form after using the Self-Recovery Skill.

"ROAR! ROAR! ROAR!" It beat its chest and stamped its feet, letting out a series of roars as if tearfully accusing the Tidal Sea Spirit.

Li Qian heard the Emperor Beast’s indignant thoughts clearly through his Telepathy Talent: ’Are you serious? That’s cheating! How am I supposed to fight if you just heal up like that?’ A faint smile touched his lips.

He smiled and looked at the Emperor Beast, "The Tidal Sea Spirit naturally has the Life Attribute. Using a Life Skill to restore its condition isn’t cheating."

"ROAR! ROAR! ROAR..." The Emperor Beast tried to argue, but the Tidal Sea Spirit’s attack was already upon it.

It had no time to react, only able to struggle to defend itself while letting out roars of frustration.

Finally, after holding on for another five minutes, the Emperor Beast was beaten so badly that it was forced out of its Heart of Fury state.

Once its Heart of Fury state ended, the Emperor Beast’s aura immediately withered. The battle, once a stalemate, instantly became a one-sided rout.

Having reverted to its normal four-legged stance, the Emperor Beast was no longer a match for the Tidal Sea Spirit. It was easily beaten into complete disorientation.

"Alright, that’s enough." Seeing that the Emperor Beast had lost all ability to resist and was simply being beaten, Li Qian spoke up to end the fight.

There was no point in continuing the battle.

"Tidal Sea Spirit, go heal the Emperor Beast," Li Qian instructed after the fight stopped, looking at the heavily wounded creature.

Though still a little annoyed with the Emperor Beast, the Tidal Sea Spirit ultimately complied with Li Qian’s request, casting Healing Technique to mend its opponent’s wounds.

As the Tidal Sea Spirit began to heal the Emperor Beast, Li Qian and Pei Yuanyuan exchanged a look.

A look of disbelief was in both of their eyes.

The Emperor Beast may have lost, but its ability to fight the Tidal Sea Spirit to a standstill while in its Heart of Fury state was nothing short of astonishing.

Its Potential had earned their approval. The only drawback was that its normal state was rather lackluster.

But that wasn’t a major issue. In fact, this evolution test had already confirmed a great deal.

Without a doubt, the Emperor Beast’s evolutionary path lay with the Melt Element. If it could one day use Melt Element Skills in its normal state, it would likely be able to achieve its next evolution.

At that point, its Potential would allow it to reach Saint Spirit Level at the very least, and Legendary Level wouldn’t be out of the question.

Lost in thought, his gaze fell upon the Emperor Beast once more. He took out a Beast Taming Ball and recalled the creature.
