Chapter 254 - 226: Black Hole
’If this Holy Mother truly cared about these people, with the abilities of the superpower users, they would never have let this place become so disgustingly filthy. She’s clearly up to no good.’
’They’d probably be better off just being let go to find food on their own than staying here.’
Shen Baoying then saw a mother cradling her infant’s corpse, muttering, "Holy Mother, protect us. Holy Mother, protect my daughter."
It was as if she didn’t even realize her daughter was already dead.
Jiang Si shook her head and continued forward. A heavy gate suddenly swung open, revealing mutated animals and humans locked inside.
Everyone instantly held their breath and began carefully searching for Jiao Chunzi.
Jiang Si walked onward but still couldn’t find Jiao Chunzi, not until two more exceptionally heavy gates opened.
Jiao Chunzi was suspended mid-air, held by special restraints. There were over fifty others like her—superpower users who were mutated zombies but had retained their humanity. However, without Jiang Si’s help, their faces and bodies remained as terrifying and gruesome as any zombie’s.
The moment Jiao Chunzi saw Jiang Si, she was filled with panic.
’My daughter, my daughter.’
She tried to scream Bao’er’s name, but no sound would come out—only the CLANG of the electrified chains.
Noticing Jiang Si’s gaze fixed on Jiao Chunzi, one of the guards assumed she was about to start trouble and immediately warned her, "Your father and your lover are waiting for you."
The next second, Jiang Si wheeled around and dealt the man a resounding slap. She pointed at Jiao Chunzi and commanded, "Let her down!"
The man glared at Jiang Si, looking like he wanted to eat her alive.
Jiang Si replied in fluent English, "I could kill you all right now, and she still wouldn’t dare touch my people."
Jiang Linhai and Qin Shen were her weakness, but with that weakness already being held over her head, Jiang Si felt she had nothing left to fear.
The slap seemed to knock some sense into the man. He immediately had Jiao Chunzi released.
The other superpower users saw this and began frantically signaling for help, but all they received in return was a jolt of agonizing electricity.
Thanks to her zombie attributes, Jiao Chunzi was largely immune to the pain of the torture and was mostly unharmed. The moment she was let down, she grabbed Shen Baoying’s hand excitedly. "My daughter? Where’s my daughter? Where is she?"
With tears in her eyes, Shen Baoying said, "She’s fine, she’s doing great. You can see her as soon as we get out of here."
Jiao Chunzi was overcome with a mix of surprise and joy. "Really? You’re not lying to me?"
Shen Baoying shook her head. "No. It’s too dangerous for her to be here, but she’s with someone who’s taking good care of her."
Jiao Chunzi sighed in relief, then asked, "Why did you come here?"
Before she could finish, the final gate opened.
This gate was incredibly thick and covered with various mechanisms.
The moment Jiang Si and her group stepped inside, they were sealed in a room from which escape seemed impossible. The air was already thin.
The guards who had brought them in left through a separate exit. Jiang Si immediately expanded her Barrier Space to survey her surroundings.
She quickly discovered that they were in an isolated holding area. It seemed Qin Shen and Jiang Linhai had already been taken somewhere else by the black hole.
’The so-called Holy Mother of this base must be trying to figure out how to dig the Superpower Stone out of my body.’
’All I can do now is wait. I’ll wait to meet this Holy Mother, and then I’ll take her down in one fell swoop.’
’If I keep getting controlled like this, I’m really going to lose my mind.’
It seemed their captors had no intention of giving them any food.
During their imprisonment, Jiang Si brazenly conjured all sorts of food from her personal space, letting everyone eat to their heart’s content.
But while she appeared to be enjoying herself, she was also using her Barrier Space to investigate the layout of the prison.
’Are these people even worth saving?’
Soon after Jiang Si had figured out the situation, someone came to take her away.
Jiang Si again insisted that her family had to be brought along.
The guards had no choice but to obey.
It felt less like they were prisoners and more like they were being escorted into a bizarre room.
As soon as they entered, they found the room was filled with black holes.
A moment later, after a blinding flash, they were teleported to another location.
Jiang Si suddenly found that the black hole had transported her to a white, boundless room, but her family members were gone.
She searched with her Barrier Space but found no trace of them.
’The black hole must have sent them to different places. They’re counting on me being unable to act so defiantly now.’
Jiang Si forced herself to remain calm and waited patiently.
Soon, an illusory woman appeared before Jiang Si.
