Chapter 111: Power Surges!

There was an intense wave of energy spreading from the second floor of a remote store inside a godforsaken alley. Only, the moment the energy was about to leave the pavilion’s door, it instantly vanished as though it never existed.
On the second floor, a flash of light shone brightly before it quickly disappeared, revealing a handsome young man with black hair flowing behind his shoulders, his black eyes bottomless like an abyss, with several bolts of lightning playing around him, his entire being exuding an aura of majesty.
Yet, the next second, all of it vanished like the power below, instantly ceasing to exist, leaving only the handsome young man with closed eyes and a grin stretching from ear to ear.
"No wonder the Demon Suppression Office is a fearsome organization. Just a casual heart method from him and I feel like I became a hundred times stronger," Darius marveled as he sat cross-legged and felt the electric waves spreading through his entire body at lightning speed. The 108 acupoints he was supposed to slowly fill over a duration of decades were fully filled, with even spiritual energy leaking from them.

Feeling the assassin and knowing that Wolf Fang or someone else might have grown restless, Darius decided not to postpone his cultivation as he awaited the medical herb ingredients from Gabriel for his pill tomorrow and instead directly broke through.
While he could sit safely inside his pavilion, he didn’t know whether the other party dared to enter or had any kind of information, but he assumed they did. So, to ensure his safety, he used the panel’s whopping 200 years of power and, to the surprise of no one, it directly elevated him to the peak of the Third Layer of the Acupoint Qi Realm.
Like this, even if the person were to enter the pavilion, and if by some random treasure they could suppress the pavilion’s Third Realm power and attack him directly, he would have enough means to defend himself.
While he was confident in his pavilion’s defensive mechanisms, treasures also played a great part in fights, and Wolf Fang was by no means lacking in such things as a guild. So who would leave his fate entirely in the hands of a pavilion? He would take precautions but also raise his own strength.

The Lightning Body Martial Arts Method was the heart method he took from Elder Albredo. In exchange, he promised to deliver three Great Demon missions to the Demon Suppression Office, which was something Darius readily agreed to do.
The Demon Suppression Office’s martial arts and spells were heavily restricted. Unless you became a member chosen and tested thoroughly, from your background to your character and whether you had ever committed evil deeds before, one would never be able to join the Demon Suppression Office.
Much less possess the talent required to do so.
Hence why, for Darius to obtain a heart method from the Demon Suppression Office was nothing short of a miracle. It implied two things: either Elder Albredo knew the young man was quite capable and wanted to rope him in at some point, or he truly wanted more missions.
In Darius’s thoughts, he was more inclined towards the latter. Note that the three Great Demons mentioned by Albredo weren’t demons in the sense of beasts that evolved into demons and roamed the wilderness, but instead specific targets he demanded.
The demons had to be either demons disguised in human form roaming Dragon City or humans who colluded with demons. If he couldn’t finish his part of the deal, Darius promised that he would let Moon and other members of the Demon Suppression Office use his rooms for prolonged periods rather than being limited by the three-day restriction.
Obviously, Darius only agreed since he knew that such a matter was easy. The time limit was six months. Laughable. If he couldn’t find demons in such a long time, he might as well dig a hole and bury himself inside.
"Aside from the swelling of my meridians, there’s no longer that feeling of Spiritual Energy being out of control!"
Adding one hundred years of spiritual energy from the dantian, he now had four hundred years of spiritual energy. Even though the widened meridians now resembled rivers, they could barely handle such a fearsome increase.
With such an amount of spiritual energy stored within, Darius felt like he couldn’t open more acupoints even if he wished to. Merely increasing Spiritual Energy without corresponding martial techniques was naturally ineffective.
Otherwise, even if all acupoints were opened, the change in strength would be minimal.

In the evening, Darius went to the Demon Suppression Office once more. As per the agreement, he would also take a corresponding martial technique he could use with his heart method, or else his fighting power would be like a baby holding a sword, weak to the extreme.
Just as he reached the door, a voice sounded in his ear.
"You’ve come!"
Darius’s pupils contracted.
Although within the Demon Suppression Office he was not highly guarded, he wouldn’t fail to notice if someone approached him closely.
He turned back to see an old man, hunched over, who had somehow appeared three feet away, squinting at him.
Darius clasped his hands and said, "Elder Albredo!"
Elder Albredo nodded lightly and strolled deeper into the building. "If you want to learn a follow-up cultivation technique, follow me!"
Darius stepped forward after him, growing increasingly amazed. This Elder Albredo seemed like a ghost, clearly walking the entire time, yet not making a single sound.
At the end of what looked like the building, there was a small door. Elder Albredo led Darius through it. Inside was a corridor lined with small doors on both sides.
These small doors were not large, only allowing one person to pass, and they were all tightly closed.
Observing them, Darius found some doors were blank, while others had martial arts names carved above them, with a few having spells instead.
