Chapter 241 - 169: Don’t Get Any Ideas About My Sister
Carrying his things, Lin Jiang returned home.
When he opened the door, he found Qin Yangyang with her arms crossed, staring at him like a teacher who had caught a student cheating. The look on her face was an open book, and it read loud and clear: "Time to confess."
’What’s with that look?’
’Did she install cameras in the house?’
’She must have seen me rummaging through her closet.’
’But we’ve played that card a few times now. Even if she did see, she shouldn’t be looking at me like *that*, right?’
"What’s going on?"
"Tell me what you bought."
"Huh? Didn’t you buy everything? I didn’t buy anything."
Lin Jiang was completely baffled. He had no idea what Qin Yangyang was talking about.
"Then let me ask you, what is this?"
Qin Yangyang pulled Lin Jiang into the living room. When he saw the item on the coffee table, Lin Jiang was left speechless.
Dammit.
’I forgot about the Flash Strike Staff.’
’Tongzi delivered it right to the door, and since she came up first, she must have brought it inside.’
"Why did you open it?"
"I wasn’t planning on it, but the outer packaging was damaged. I wanted to see if the contents were broken, so I just took a peek."
Qin Yangyang’s small hand reached out and pinched Lin Jiang’s waist.
"It’s bad enough that you’re always up to no good, but you actually went and bought this."
’This was a fucking reward from Tongzi! I’m not this kinky!’
"Look at the color. Isn’t it nice and festive?"
"It seems to me you don’t know how to do anything but cause trouble."
Even though Lin Jiang had supposedly bought it, it was Qin Yangyang’s face that turned red.
Before Lin Jiang got back, her mind had already started running wild.
"I’ve prepped all the ingredients. You just need to put in the hot pot base and add some water. Remember to use two packets of the base; it tastes better that way."
"Okay."
Qin Yangyang took the bags from Lin Jiang’s hands, getting ready to change into her nightgown.
AH—
A sudden scream shattered the peace.
"Why did you take these out?!"
Even from a distance, he could see that Qin Yangyang’s face had turned an impossible shade of red.
"Well, they were bought to be worn, weren’t they?"
"You have to give me some time!"
"With things like this, you have to strike while the iron is hot. Any hesitation would be disrespectful to these designs."
"You’re going to tease me to death one of these days."
Qin Yangyang set the other things aside, taking out just the nightgown.
But instead of going back to the bedroom, she sat right there on the living room sofa and changed into it.
For Lin Jiang, this was a wonderful feeling—proof of the intimacy between them.
After changing, Qin Yangyang tied her long hair into a ponytail and went to the dining area.
And so, their dinner officially began.
"Oh, right. I forgot to give you something."
As she spoke, Qin Yangyang went back to the living room and took a file folder from her bag.
"The divorce procedures are all settled. There’s just one agreement left. Once you sign it, you’ll officially be a free man."
"Thank you, Qin Lu."
"Come now, President Lin, let me toast to you."
"Isn’t the atmosphere a little too... corporate?"
Qin Yangyang raised her glass, a broad smile on her face.
"You’re a shareholder in our family’s company now and an important partner to my father. As the vice president, it’s only natural that I toast to you."
Looking at Qin Yangyang’s expression, Lin Jiang felt there was a hidden meaning behind her words.
"Is there something you want to say?"
"Nope. I just wanted to toast President Lin. Who knows, you might become my brother-in-law in the future. That would make us even closer, so we should definitely have a drink to that."
"Hang on, what’s this about being your brother-in-law?"
"Didn’t you see my mom’s attitude today? She’s obviously trying to set you up with Youyou."
"That’s a bit of a stretch, isn’t it? She just gave me a ride home."
Qin Yangyang wagged her finger. "It’s not as simple as just one ride. At dinner, she had you two sit together. And when she wanted to drink, my mom stopped her, all so that she’d be the one to drive you home."
"And? So you suspect something’s going on between us?"
"Is that not enough?" Qin Yangyang narrowed her eyes, looking like a cunning little fox. "Tell me, have you two done anything else behind my back?"
"I swear to God, we haven’t done anything."
"Then what’s this about you buying our family’s company shares? Why would you do that?"
Lin Jiang had already prepared an answer for this question, one that would also let him put her in his debt.
"I did some research on my own and found out Uncle Qin’s situation was a bit precarious, so I secretly acquired those shares."
Qin Yangyang tilted her head up, looking like a teacher examining her student.
"And on whose account did you acquire them?"
It was a stupid question. Any idiot would know how to answer.
But right now, Qin Yangyang wanted that idiotic answer.
"We’ve already had such a... deep exchange. Of course I did it for you."
"That’s more like it," Qin Yangyang said, her tone proud and petulant.
"But you can’t have any ideas about Youyou."
"Listen to you."
Lin Jiang didn’t answer directly, employing a bit of evasive maneuvering.
"I know you men too well. I don’t believe for a second you haven’t thought about having both sisters."
Holy crap!
’Top-student girls are terrifying! How does she know everything?’
"See? I knew I was right."
"You know too much."
"I do know quite a lot. I know most of the depraved things rich people get up to."
"Now that you mention it, I’m starting to get curious."
"Things like the sister scenario... a lot of people do that in private. What’s even more outrageous is the mo—"
Seeming to realize she was being too explicit, Qin Yangyang clamped her mouth shut.
"Anyway, it’s just really depraved. You can use your imagination for the rest."
"I think I can guess."
"I’m sure you’re no saint, but you are not to have any ideas about my sister."
