Counterfeit Hero

Listening to the faint sounds of the riot coming from the prison cells, Bruce smiled slightly. By the time he strode into the central control room of the Observation Tower, his face was already expressionless.

"At this moment, there’s a riot in the prison, Warden William, I think you owe me an explanation!" Bruce furiously threw the gloves in his hand onto the information control panel, looking extremely angry and accusatory.

Sixty-something-year-old Warden William, who had worked at Abnosk for twenty years, was at a loss due to the sudden riot in the prison cells. He couldn’t believe that after issuing strict orders and threatening to kill on the spot, these prisoners still dared to cause trouble! If such an incident occurred under James’s watchful eye, and he didn’t handle it well, he would be finished! He didn’t dare to look at Bruce; instead, he grabbed the communicator in a panic and shouted angrily, "Emergency assembly! All guards immediately get your weapons and assemble!"

Bruce watched coldly, snorted, and said indifferently, "I’ll take care of the external security. You’d better take all your men inside and quell this riot! If you can’t effectively control your prison within half an hour, you can explain it to my father yourself!"

William avoided Bruce’s cold gaze and frantically explained, "Prince Bruce, this is not a riot, it’s just a little dispute between the prisoners. Don’t worry, they can’t cause any trouble in the prison cells. Once the automatic patrol guns are activated, they’ll behave and return to their cells!"

Angrily kicking a guard standing foolishly beside him, he whispered, "Hurry up, assemble!" Then, as he walked out, he continued to say to Bruce, "Please wait a moment, I’ll soon bring the troublemakers before you!" Under Bruce’s cold gaze, William nearly bumped into the doorframe as he turned to leave.

Watching the embarrassed warden leave, Bruce walked to the floor-to-ceiling window of the circular control room and looked down at the guards, gathering urgently like ants from all directions toward the prison cell door. Behind his back, his fingers made an inconspicuous gesture. His bodyguard, always by his side, understood immediately and left the control room.

The guards assembled swiftly, knowing that with Emperor James present to watch the games, such an incident could cost everyone dearly! Under the hoarse shouts of Warden William and led by Guard Chief Picard, the heavily armed guards opened the prison cell door and swarmed in. They were determined to give the unruly prisoners a lesson they would never forget!

The last rays of the setting sun reflected on the pointed roofs of the four observation towers at the corners of the prison, casting a golden glow.

In each observation tower’s control room, only a few guards were left to manage the control system, while the entire outer defense of the prison had been taken over by the Royal Investigation Bureau’s special security team.
