The Unlimited Ascension: Reborn as an Extra

Lyris’s expression changed instantly as her long-kept secret was finally exposed. A deep flush spread across her cheeks, and her eyes dilated as she looked around, desperately trying to sneak away. However, his grip was firm, leaving her no room to run away.

"How did you find out?..."

She asked, feeling utterly confused. For a long time, he had remained clueless about her identity, and now suddenly, out of nowhere, he had found out? What was the exact reason which led him to find out the truth?

Alen looked down at her while whispering softly.

"It’s easy. It seems you have been having such a good time climbing up to here in the spire that you even got the time to bath. Sigh... You know, your perfume still makes me feel that familiar girlish scent, the exact one I sensed in the hotel room that day..."

Alen’s eyes narrowed at her complicated look.

"That makes perfect sense about your weird behavior. Looking away when I took off my shirt, hiding your identity and naming yourself as little ’L’, staring at me continuously? And hiding your face that day under the sheet?..."

Lyris’s blush deepened at his words. All of the things she had tried so hard to hide now lay bare in front of him. She didn’t know what to say anymore. Her mind was already in a whirlwind of chaotic thoughts, as she didn’t know how he was going to react after today.

Will he hate her because she betrayed his trust? Will he think she was an untrustworthy person who had lied to him all this time? Or will he think that she is a manipulator who betrayed his trust? Whatever he thought, everything was going to change with his next words.

As they remained in the same position for a long time in a tense mood, the murmurs around them started to grow louder. The surrounding nobles looked at their romantic stance—at least from their perspective—with a look of interest.

As they both noticed the constant gazes and whispering voices, Alen pulled her up. He stepped back, maintaining a respectable distance and giving her a moment of time to catch her breath.

Just as Lyris looked up, desperately wanting to finish the unfinished conversation, the golden energy suddenly started to swirl around the room. A long, grand staircase formed in thin air, leading directly to the top floor of the towering spire.

The nobles gasped as they looked at the golden staircase. They stepped back in awe and fear, as they didn’t know what it was. It was as if it was the very first time they saw such a miraculous thing.

Of course, they hadn’t seen it before. How would they? It is not every day event when a beautiful couple entered the ballroom as if they were celebrities, stepped into the spotlight, and became the stars of the day. And for their grand welcome, a magnificent staircase opened out of nowhere to take them straight to heaven! That only exists in fantasy, but of course, this is the Ascension Realm. Whatever could be imagined was possible, as the realm was a bizarre, unpredictable place where anything could happen which was entirely out of human comprehension.

As the long staircase finally manifested and caught both of their attention, they looked at each other and nodded. They left the further conversation for later, as their primary aim was to complete the Trial without any further delay. There were barely a few days left to complete the trial.

They stepped forward together, seamlessly passing through the crowds as they walked toward the long staircase. The people looked at them with awe as they ascended higher on the steps. The staircase disintegrated behind them with each step they took toward the Ascension. As they took their last step, a mysterious door stood before them, holding a secret behind it. They weren’t sure if it was leading them to the Ascension of the next stage, or if it was going to be the end of their Journey. But wherever it might lead them, it was a life-changing moment for them both.

They looked at each other one last time as they finally got themselves ready for whatever dangerous situation they might face behind the door. They finally opened the door and stepped inside.

As the last of the staircase disintegrated behind them along with the door, the hall lay in stunned silence. Everyone looked at each other, wondering what had really happened in front of them just now.

Near the outskirts of Vale City, inside the luxurious mansion, a young lady was seated on the grass of the garden. She rested on her knees as she leaned against a large tree under its cool shade.

Her violet hair was blown by the warm breeze of air, highlighting her beautiful face. Her gorgeous lavender eyes, which held a deep sense of mystery, looked into the distance with a calm look.

Her face was expressionless as she sat there alone, but there was no sense of sadness or loneliness in her gaze.

Why would she be lonely? Being alone doesn’t mean she is lonely. Being alone means she was comfortable with herself.

Everyone ultimately has to move on in their life. Life doesn’t wait for anyone and never will be stagnant. If she stopped living just because she was alone, then there is no meaning for her life, no meaning for her personal goal, and no meaning for her path.

In the end, everyone has to take responsibility on their own shoulders; they have to learn to live with themselves. And living with yourself doesn’t mean feeling lonely; it means finding your own way out toward happiness.

As Ava sat there in peaceful silence under the shade of the trees, small, soft steps on the grass could be heard. Two incredibly cute baby rabbits ran after each other around the garden. When they saw Ava sitting there, they started running toward her and jumped continuously around her excitedly.

Ava placed her warm hands on the rabbits and stroked them softly. Both of the adorable animals leaned toward her, happily seeking comfort.

"Peanut, Mochi, where were you two playing out there? I was waiting for you..."

With a flick of her finger, two sweet cookies appeared in her hand. She fed them both, letting them eat the treats slowly.

These were the rabbits Kalos had brought for her, after thinking that she might be feeling lonely staying by herself.

She was not usually fond of keeping animals, as she didn’t know how to properly care for them. But their presence still made the large mansion feel much more lively as they constantly chased after each other, playing around the yard.

Ava’s expression turned slightly distant, as it was soon going to be the end of the month. She didn’t know if they were going to return safely, as a month had almost passed from the exact time they both entered inside the Ascension Realm. Tomorrow was going to be the last day, and that would ultimately decide what their future would be.

Ava stood up as she walked inside the silent mansion, leaving the two little rabbits to happily play with themselves.

"I hope they will be fine..."
