Chapter 172: Serina’s Logic Is Disgustingly Correct
Inside the carriage, Damian stared at the fading film archive in silence.
For a while, he did not even touch the snacks beside him.
His expression was strange, half shocked and half complicated, as if his brain was still trying to accept what he had just watched. "Damn..."
He slowly leaned back against the carriage wall. "I thought they were just simple villainesses."
At first, Damian had only assumed Linsey, Helena, Cynthia, and Evelyn were ordinary tragic women who had suddenly solved their bad endings because of his gifts.
He never thought their story would be this damn heavy. Even worse, it did not end there.
Those four women did not even die as basic villainesses. They died like demons who had already prepared poison bombs to drag multiple cultivator families down with them.
It was not just a tragic story.
It was a brutal one.
Damian rubbed his forehead and clicked his tongue. "No wonder the system called them villainesses. Those four women were already walking disaster bombs."
A moment later, he raised his head and looked at the system screen again. "System, why was there no me in that story?"
The system responded immediately.
---
[The True Villainess Story shows the original fate where the Host did not interfere]
[In that timeline, the Host was still in the small city and had not entered their lives]
---
Damian blinked. "Ah, I see..."
His mouth twitched. "So that story was where I wasn’t there. Basically, I already died by choking on food in some small restaurant."
His fingers tapped against his knee as his expression became thoughtful again.
"Still, I never thought those four women were this vicious. All I saw before should have been their fake faces, huh?"
All of them had been real, but also fake at the same time. Linsey’s liveliness, Helena’s steadiness, Cynthia’s gentleness, and Evelyn’s calm pride were not completely lies.
Yet beneath those normal disciple masks, they had been carrying something far darker.
Suddenly, Damian froze as he realized something. "Wait a minute..."
His eyes shifted sharply toward the fading archive. "In the original ending, they planted so many poison bombs."
His eyelid twitched. "Damn. Could they have already planted poison bombs in many places this time too?"
The more he thought about it, the more possible it sounded.
After all, the archive had clearly said those poisons were their backup plan in case they died.
A woman like Cynthia, who could calmly prepare delayed poison to wipe out enemy families after death, was definitely not someone Damian could underestimate.
Damian’s face darkened slightly. "No, no. When I meet them again, I need to ask about that first."
He rubbed his chin with a serious expression. "I don’t want to suddenly get poisoned because one of their revenge toys activates nearby."
A few breaths later, after he calmed down a bit, a faint grin returned to his face. "Also... it seems I need to prepare better gifts for them."
Now that Linsey, Helena, Cynthia, and Evelyn had reached peak Favorability toward him, Damian could not just ignore them.
Not anymore.
Also, according to the system, they had already ended their bad ending. That should mean the bastard young master’s family didn’t discover them this time.
In other words, they should still be able to return to the Heavenly Sword Sect normally.
At least, that was what Damian hoped.
A faint smile returned to his face. "Let’s see if those four troublesome beauties come back."
His fingers tapped lightly against his knee. "If they do, I’ll properly ask what the hell they did."
His eyes flickered with interest. "And maybe give them something nice before they poison the wrong people."
---
Back in Kerran Bloodhand’s ruined hideout, Serina and Miona finally returned to their senses.
For a while, neither of them moved.
Miona looked toward the direction Damian’s carriage had disappeared, her expression tight. "Sister... do we really just let him go?"
Serina lowered her gaze to the jade bottle in her palm and sighed. "Yes."
Miona frowned. "Why? He knows too much."
Serina nodded. "He does."
Miona’s frown deepened. "Then why the hell are we letting him walk away?"
Serina’s fingers slowly tightened around the bottle. "Because he has quite a background. Elder Selvara is not someone we can provoke carelessly."
Miona clicked her tongue. "Yeah, indeed, but..."
Serina sighed and looked back at Miona, silencing her before she could continue.
"Not only that," Serina said quietly, "for some unknown reason, I also believe him."
Miona stared at her. "You believe him? That shameless bastard?"
Serina’s lips curved faintly, though her eyes remained cautious. "Yes."
Miona’s expression twisted again. "How can you believe him? That bastard is a shameless pervert."
Serina glanced at her younger sister, then quietly laughed. "Indeed. That’s exactly why."
Miona froze. "What?"
Serina’s smile became a little more natural, but her gaze stayed thoughtful. "Think about it. That man’s eyes practically said he wanted to eat us alive the moment he saw us."
Miona’s face darkened instantly. "Sister..."
Serina continued calmly, "Not kill us. Not expose us. Eat us."
Miona’s grip tightened around her blade. "That is disgusting."
"Very," Serina agreed. "But it fits him."
She glanced toward the direction Damian had left. "A man like him won’t hand us over to someone else before he gets the chance to enjoy beautiful women like us for himself."
Miona’s eyebrow twitched harder. "You’re making him sound even worse."
"He is worse," Serina said softly. "That is why I believe him."
Miona stared at her in disbelief.
Serina turned away calmly. "Relax. I’m only guessing."
Miona’s brows pressed together. "That is a disgusting guess."
"Maybe," Serina said. "But for that shameless pervert, it sounds very believable."
Miona cursed under her breath.
For a moment, she looked like she wanted to chase Damian down just to stab him once, not kill him, just stab him enough to feel better.
Serina stored the jade bottle away and looked deeper into the mist. "Let’s go back. Kerran is dead, so now we need to handle the consequences."
Miona glanced once more in Damian’s direction before following her.
Her fingers tightened around the jade bottle Damian had given her. "Damn shameless bastard."
She said it like a curse, but even she knew her killing intent toward him had already weakened.
Serina noticed, but she did not expose her.
The two sisters soon disappeared into the red mist, leaving Kerran Bloodhand’s ruined hideout behind them.
