In the Hokage's office, the Third Hokage was smoking absentmindedly while processing various materials and information.
"I haven't seen Haruto for several days. It seems this time he was hit a bit hard. He's still too young. Now that he's a ninja, he'll face things far crueler than this. But he's still a child... It's because he's always been so mature that I've treated him like an adult. I should find a chance to visit him and talk."
"Lord Hokage, Haruto requests your presence." An Anbu entered and handed over a scroll sent by Haruto.
After reading the scroll, the Third Hokage was visibly surprised.
"He's surpassed even an S-rank forbidden jutsu? Looks like Haruto is about to surprise me again..."
In Haruto's secret laboratory, the Third Hokage finally saw him—but was taken aback by his appearance.The normally neat and tidy Haruto was now standing in front of him disheveled, his body covered in oil and grime.
The Third Hokage frowned—not because of the unpleasant smell, but out of concern. Haruto looked like he hadn't bathed, eaten, or slept in days. His bloodshot eyes revealed how far he'd pushed himself.
"Haruto, are you alright? You've clearly been like this for days. Go get some rest. Whatever this achievement is, it can wait."
Haruto blinked, finally realizing his state—but quickly brushed it aside. He grabbed Third's sleeve and urgently pulled him deeper into the lab.
"This can't wait. With what I've created, Brother Hayate won't have to die. Konoha won't need to lose anything this time!"
The Third Hokage paused in silence, then replied: "Haruto... Wasn't it already decided? For the good of Konoha, Hayate—"
