Chapter 270: Deities Should Not Be Underestimated
Kaelen took three days to extract the Wood Magical Energy inside the magic stone, taking another three and a half days to absorb it completely.
His Divine soul had now restored its original state, but his Divine power had still not been unsealed. Kaelen used all his strength within his endurance limit, only managing to slash one-third of the shackles.
In other words, his level now was only equivalent to a level-five Warrior.
A level-five Warrior on the Beastman continent was already considered quite good, but in this Great World, he could not fight anyone at all. It seemed the fastest way to completely remove the shackles was still receiving faith from the believers.
Kaelen felt his domain wavering, immediately transforming into a beam of light flying back. Outside the domain, the pack of demonic creatures was becoming increasingly crowded. Kaelen glanced around once, his expression turning cold.
There was a high-level demonic creature about to reach the Demon King realm. No wonder it could erode a Deity’s domain.
Kaelen floated in the sky, radiating a wave of Divine majesty that caused a massive amount of low-level and mid-level demonic creatures to vanish. The high-level demonic creatures panicked slightly and faltered, but that demonic creature nearing the Demon King level roared once. They then continued to advance forward, using their demonic aura to erode the barrier.
Kaelen lowered his eyes looking down. That Black Panther demonic creature about to reach the Demon King level raised its head looking up. He could even see a provocative glint in its eyes. Kaelen chuckled softly:
"Not bad little cat, daring to challenge Divine majesty, your guts are not small at all."
He raised his arm. A jade green bow appeared in his palm, its material transparent like crystal. He condensed Divine power into an arrow, nocked the arrow onto the bowstring, pulling it slightly.
The terrifying pressure from the arrow made the Black Panther demonic creature wary. Its pupils contracted, its body crouching down. It bared its teeth emitting a growling sound. The creature’s subordinates immediately moved to block in front of the panther. The entire group changed their formation into a spearhead array, ready to charge forward to confront the weapon in Kaelen’s hands.
Kaelen smiled: "The Gods have slept for too long, making some fools forget there still exist entities in this world that they are not worthy of looking up to. You want to erase the existence of the Deities? Then I am sorry, I have to let you down..."
Rumbling thunder echoed in the sky. Black clouds gathered, bringing a blinding hurricane. However, they could not even blow away a single strand of Kaelen’s hair. Kaelen drew the bowstring, saying softly:
"Have you forgotten who I am? Using nature to confront Nature, who gave you the confidence?"
Kaelen’s eyes suddenly turned cold. A wave of killing intent surged high. A green light pillar taking him as the center shot straight up into the sky. The black clouds and hurricane immediately dissipated. The entity above was unwilling, a growling sound echoing in the sky. But the arrow in Kaelen’s hands had already left the bowstring, transforming into a spearhead of light, sweeping straight from the Shrine across a six-hundred-mile radius.
The Black Panther and its companions only had time to let out a tragic howl before their entire bodies turned into ashes. Within the six-hundred-mile radius where the spearhead of light flew, not a single demonic creature survived.
Kaelen clenched his fist. The bow in his hand disappeared. He snorted coldly: "So incredibly ugly, not even matching a fraction of my family’s Sunlight."
He finished speaking, turned around to fly towards the Shrine, merging into the Deity statue.
The children in the Shrine had witnessed the entire battle just now. Their reverence could be said to have reached the absolute peak. Especially Paul, the boy felt Kaelen’s bow-wielding posture just now looked extremely cool, even cooler than his own father and mother. His eyes looked at the Deity statue, carrying a scorching flame inside them.
Kaelen stayed inside the Deity statue and saw everything. His mind stirred slightly. The Deity statue soon shrunk down to only about ten centimeters.
In the widened eyes of the children, the Deity statue gradually broke out of its stone-sculpted body, turning into a human figure with flesh and blood. Besides being only the size of a hand, he looked exactly like a Sub-Beast in every way.
Children did not have many taboos. They revered Kaelen but did not fear him. After many consecutive shocks, the children had gradually gotten used to it, therefore recovering their spirits very quickly. Harbet immediately stepped forward, observing this hand-sized God of Nature, unable to help but marvel:
"Great God of Nature, why did you choose the Sub-Beast form?" Moreover, a bright green Sub-Beast... Harbet swallowed this sentence back inside, not daring to say it out loud.
Kaelen smiled: "You all can just call me Lord Kaelen. This is actually my true form. I just encountered a little incident, so I had to shrink down to save Divine power."
He flew up, sitting on Paul’s shoulder: "I want to leave the Shrine to find my mate. I have cleared a six-hundred-mile radius around here. You all can go outside now. If you choose to stay and guard this place, I will teach you combat and farming techniques. You can create a prosperous life for yourselves."
The children were silent for a moment, then Paul suddenly spoke up:
"Lord Kaelen, can we follow you outside? We want to find our relatives and clan members."
Kaelen blinked: "No. Following me is very dangerous."
Paul shook his head: "Lord Kaelen, we are people who crawled out from piles of corpses, almost dying many times yet stubbornly living until now. We do not fear danger. We only fear being abandoned."
Kaelen was silent. A very long time passed, finally he spoke up:
"If your minds are made up, then just go with me. However you cannot go like this. Before you learn combat skills enough to protect yourselves, we will not leave this place."
Kaelen flew back to the altar, waving his hand once. Body-tempering equipment, training weapons, and several cultivation resources piled up into a mound in front of the children. He looked around once. His finger pointed at the Elf clan girl named Ivy:
"Your name is Ivy right? The Nature energy in your body is extremely pure, I need you to help me draw an array."
Kaelen wanted to draw a Divine Energy awakening array, wanting to test if he could help this group of children awaken or not. Previously, Sane was there to help Kaelen mark the array positions. Now that Sane was not here, Kaelen could only choose a person possessing similar energy to himself.
"You do not need to do anything, just standing at the positions I designate is fine."
The Shrine needed to be kept livable. Kaelen chose an empty plot of land about a mile away from the Shrine. After finishing the preparations, Kaelen signaled to Ivy.
Ivy obediently ran forward, taking turns standing at the positions Kaelen designated. However, acting as a marking point came with a price. After Kaelen connected all the marker lines of the array together, Ivy’s face turned pale white. She collapsed limply to the ground.
Paul had been instructed by Kaelen beforehand. Seeing that Ivy’s condition was bad, the boy immediately stepped forward to support her, pouring a potion bottle into her mouth. After Ivy finished drinking the potion, about three minutes later, her complexion became rosier.
Kaelen used empty magic stones, transmitting his Magical Energy into them before placing them at the marking points. The pattern lines of the array lit up. Kaelen then handed each child a defensive array:
"Now we proceed with the Divine Energy awakening ritual. You take this thing along, step into that center position and sit cross-legged down. Remember clearly, no matter what happens outside, you must not pay attention, try to keep your mind steady for me."
The children tightly gripped the metal flower in their hands, solemnly nodding. Kaelen nodded:
"Who goes first?"
Paul immediately stepped forward: "Lord, let me go first."
The children’s Divine Energy awakening process was not much different from their time back in Crimson. The thing that amazed Kaelen was that, except for the baby still in diapers who was not allowed into the array, all six children awakened their Divine Energy.
Paul and Ivy awakened Wood-attribute Divine Energy, Harbet possessed the Ice-attribute, the Lion clan boy possessed a mutated Wind-attribute, and the two children from the Dwarf clan and the Goblin clan both awakened the Fire-attribute.
If it were not for the fact that the remaining child was still too young, Kaelen truly wanted to throw the baby directly into the array to see if the Divine Energy awakening rate of children in this Great World was exactly one hundred percent.
This rate was truly too shocking!
