Witch Hunter: Lord of Lust and Sin

"You! How dare you go against the- ack-"

The life that was slowly disappearing from the man’s eyes, the warmth of his body that was slowly dissipating into the air.

Steven Smith stared deep into the eyes of the man who he had just killed. The emotions of anger and disbelief that lingered in the dead man’s face were being transmitted to Steven despite the spirit already disappearing from the man’s body.

"Captain... this technique... I’ll use it to get revenge and save her"

The young man, Steven, with his blonde hair and blue eyes turned towards the distant new york skyline.

"Kyla Kain... mysterious disappearance- the date is within the time period when Damien disappeared with that witch and killed the son of the director"

Steven recalled the day he had survived the ordeal that was caused by the witch known as Cindy.

The monsters had mauled and massacred his comrades-

He will never forget that day- until he could personally rip the bitches heart with his own hands-

Not only did they take advantage of Captain, they even kidnapped his only family... those bastards

The war that the US had waged against the witches and mystics of America had quietly died down.

Because the majority of the population were unaffected due to them staying within the cities, the only ones who were aware of the true damage caused by the witch hunts were the old timers and people who stayed behind in the rural areas within the country.

The internet was quickly controlled and people could only see what the government wanted them to see.

The protests in the cities which many claimed and believed were the reason for the end to the conflict too were just BS spread by the media giants.

In reality, the witches of Salem had approached politicians and businessmen they had connections to with offers that they had long been asking for.

The secret to the youth and faux immortality of the witches weren’t a secret from the rich and powerful.

But the rich and powerful were too high profile, even the most "low key" individual among them had their names listed in Forbes and had stalkers chasing after them.

It was difficult to hide the fact that a millionaire suddenly regained their youth or a 60 year old man/woman looked like they were in their mid twenties to early thirties.

The rules that maintained order allowed the witches to avoid sharing their secrets but-

Due to Damien Dixon and his little witch friend, the secret powers were able to find an excuse to bring the mystical powers into the world.

The cures for cancer and other deadly diseases- all of these were nothing more than smokescreens.

As someone who had worked under the FBI, FMC and now was an agent for the secret government unit tasked with hunting rogue mystics, Steven was well aware of the truth behind the recent events.

"Revenge, Greed... duty..."

Steven muttered as he recalled the various truths he had learned.

The movement that caused the chaos related to magic, the force that pushed forward the revelation of the mystic world...

Many in the mystic world would think that it was the actions of a single mystic who had managed to manipulate the world to their tune.

For people in the mystical world, manipulation was just a matter of awareness.

If you were aware of the manipulators, you’d avoid getting manipulated but if you can’t identify them, you’re already their tool.

For Steven, that was what gave him an edge.

The people he was hunting, the individuals he was looking for- they were probably preparing for a battle against a manipulator.

But Steven knew that it was all just a string of coincidences and opportunity takers taking action.

A father who had lost his son pushing forward a movement to take vengeance for his fallen kin-

The powerful group behind the scenes who wished to gain access to the fountain of youth-

Traitors on both sides who wish to make use of the chaos to rise up-

All of these people moved to push forward the chaos, Damien may have attempted to stem the bleeding but a dozen more arrows were already flying his way.

Unfortunately, among the risk takers who aimed to gain benefits from the chaos, many failed while the rest succeeded.

Steven was one of those that failed, but unlike the others who were aiming for fame, fortune and power. His goal was similar to the man who had picked him up.

Revenge-

His goal was to look for Damien who now took on the name of Richard.

The chaos in the US-

He had directed people to look for Richard’s bases, he hunted down the people who had assisted him but.

Aside from a small ranch in Texas, people like the billionaires who were financing him and other factions were near impossible to deal with.

Nova Munda had been pushed back but their power was not diminished at the slightest.

Instead, after the conclusion of the chaos, Nova Munda seemed to have gotten a LOT stronger.

Fortunately, the FMC was disbanded and the remnants were absorbed and split up to become state based mystic police forces.

All this happened and Richard didn’t even bother to show his face in the US.

The latest information showed that he was in the Philippines.

He seems to be up to something as he had started to attack the mystical group in the Philippines.

Unlike the mystical forces in the US, the mystic forces in the Philippines were deeply tied to the government and information about the current state of the nation was easy to obtain.

Unfortunately, Richard’s actions seem to have caused some sort of disruption which no one could learn about as the Philippines completely closed its borders after the witch hunt chaos.

Although it looked normal on the surface, the checks for spies and investigators had gotten a LOT stricter.

Normal people could not feel any change but for government sanctioned investigators and anyone who was there to gather information- all of them were barred entry.

It was an information blackout and all the investigators could do was rely on social media and other secondary sources.

Steven would have loved to investigate it himself but even he was unable to enter the country without catching attention.

"Richard..."

The target of his revenge and the man who has caused the world to fall into chaos.

He didn’t know what the bastard was doing in the Philippines but given the country’s status as a "developing" and "poor" nation, it was easy to think that Richard was plotting to control the nation from the shadows.

The fact that something big was happening in the mystical world of the Philippines and that Richard seemed to be at the center of it was proof enough of that.

Unfortunately-

For now, I need to take care of these assholes

Steven was targeting the mystics who had caused his former Captain, the man who was once given the nickname "Emperor" due to building harems in each area where he was assigned.

The teacher who had brought Steven out of danger, who trained him how to survive.

Kellin Kain, Steven’s teacher and someone who he sees as a father figure-

It was only recently that Steven learned of the mystical forces that manipulated the directors and people from the Kellin’s division.

These groups were like small-time thugs, mystical gangsters who were trying to push Kellin into a corner.

They made sure that Kellin was isolated from the remaining family he had left but Kellin was able to evade them by pure luck after he decided to disappear.

It was only when Damien made contact with Kellin did a trace of the man appear once more but at that point- it was already too late.

All that was left of Kellin was a deadbeat son and a cargo container.

Moreover, that container was bought by a capitalist who should have had zero connection to the mystical world.

Now that very capitalist was at the center of the mystical world and the remaining family of the man who he owed his life to was missing.

Steven turned his attention back to the dead man near his feet, the cursed dagger he used had drained all the blood of the man as well as his soul.

The former director of the FBI who was now tasked with handling all mystic related criminal activities.

Although the legal framework for "mystical criminal law" was yet to be signed on, most of the criminal cases involving mystical individuals could still be tried using the regular laws.

The current focus of mystical law enforcement was the creation of laws focused on limiting the flexibility of magic.

The common populace still had a limited understanding of mystical abilities but Steven and many of the lawmakers had a better grasp of it.

Most of the matters being discussed and debated by the lawmakers involve gray areas of magic.

Things like hypnosis, memory manipulation, disguises- some of those could be placed under other already established laws but the problem was discovery.

Normally, the US would just let the laws and their loopholes be cleaned up in court.

But such methods were not possible with magic.

Many considerations had to be considered and "expert panels" that would be selected for jury duty...

With many mystics having a strong clan like connection with other mystics, even if they didn’t have a direct blood relation or any relation at all-

The prosecution of mystics and their years living in the shadows made it difficult for mystics to speak against their fellow.

If that weren’t enough, mystical techniques were mostly kept within families and clans.

Even the most experienced and oldest mystics wouldn’t claim to know everything.

There was a reason the mystic world did not create a system of criminal justice like the non-mystic world.

Hopefully it gets resolved soon...

There were many problems but for now, Steven’s goal was to deal with the bad actors that are trying to cause further chaos in the world.

Of course, revenge was also there but nothing in his contract say that he can’t do both at the same time.
