Dual Awakening: Elemental and Beast Transformation Paths

Chapter 104: Reunion with Aveline

Once the massive bird landed on the ground, Ren and the others jumped down from its back.

"Elara, you are back?" Daniel and Sean approached Elara with happy expressions.

"I’m back, uncle Sean, uncle Daniel." Elara was also delighted to see them.

Daniel turned to Ren. "It’s been almost a year and a half since I saw you... You’ve grown into quite the man, Ren."

"It’s good to see you again." Ren smiled softly.

"So, have you decided when you will marry our princess?" Sean teased Ren immediately.

The corner of Ren’s lips twitched while Elara’s face flushed red.

"Haha." Sean and Daniel laughed happily. "It seems like you are still as shy as ever, Elara."

Cassandra, who saw them, was startled.

’Oh! It seems like Ren already has a good relationship with the villagers.’

She could tell how close they were from their conversation.

Sean and Daniel stopped laughing and shifted their gaze to Cassandra.

"Elara, she is..." They were curious about Cassandra’s identity.

"She is our instructor in the organization," Elara explained.

"I’m Cassandra from the Aether Organization." Cassandra introduced herself.

"Aether Organization?" Both Sean and Daniel were shocked and happy at the same time. "So, you made it into the Pillar Organization?"

Elara didn’t answer, but she nodded her head.

"Haha! As expected of our Elara!" Sean and Daniel laughed again.

"So, did you come back because your organization is on break?" Sean asked curiously.

Elara quickly shook her head.

"She has been feeling uneasy lately," Ren told them the reason why she had suddenly returned home.

Both Sean and Daniel were shocked.

"Is it the spiritual bond between family?" Daniel touched his chin.

Ren’s expression turned serious. "Did something happen?"

Elara’s face stiffened.

"No, but the new head of Valcrest Village has been bothering Elara’s mother lately." Sean didn’t explain further.

"It’s better if you ask your mother yourself, Elara," Daniel added.

"Then, we will meet her now." Ren was worried about Aveline. "Elara, instructor Cassandra, let’s go."

They nodded their heads.

As they headed toward Elara’s house, everyone they passed greeted them warmly.

Some villagers showed alert expressions when they saw the huge bird being led by Cassandra, but after a short explanation, they all let out sighs of relief.

At the same time, Aveline was sitting on a tree swing in the front yard of her house.

Her hair danced gently as her eyes were fixed on the book as if everything around her had become nothing more than a backdrop to her beauty.

While she was focused on the book, Ren and the others arrived.

"Mother..." Elara rushed toward Aveline.

"Hmm?" Aveline turned toward the source of the sound.

The moment she saw her daughter running toward her, she rose to her feet and smiled warmly.

"Mother..." Elara embraced her mother tightly.

She hadn’t seen her mother for a year and a half, so she missed her deeply.

Once Elara stopped the hug, Aveline asked, "Have you been well all this time?"

"Yes," Elara replied. "Mother, I came with Ren and instructor Cassandra."

Aveline shifted her gaze to them.

’He has grown into a fine man.’

Before she sent him home, he was only an attractive young man, but now, an aura of maturity emitted from his body.

"Welcome to my village, instructor Cassandra." Aveline greeted Cassandra. "I’m Aveline, Elara’s mother."

"Nice to meet you." Cassandra returned the greeting with a big smile.

"Let’s talk inside." The front yard was not the best place for chatting, so Aveline led them into the living room.

After placing the tea on the table, she sat down beside her daughter.

"Instructor Cassandra, are you from the Pillar Organization?" Aveline inquired.

"Yes," Cassandra responded. "I’m from one of its branches, the Aether Organization."

"I’m glad you two made it into the Pillar Organization." Aveline didn’t doubt their abilities, but hearing it directly still made her feel delighted.

"We did our best." Ren and Elara didn’t tell her about their achievements during the test.

Aveline returned her attention to Cassandra. "Instructor, I apologize if my daughter often causes you problems. She has never left the village before."

"Elara has never given me any trouble before." Cassandra was not lying. "Mrs Aveline, we are glad to have your daughter in our organization. Not only is she a good girl, but she is also a genius."

"A genius?" Aveline was a little surprised because she thought someone with Elara’s level of ability was only above average in the city.

Of course, she was thrilled.

Elara was her daughter.

Who would not be happy to know that a branch of the Pillar Organization labeled her as a genius?

She was sure every parent would dream about it.

"Does that mean she got a high rank in the test?" Aveline wanted to confirm it.

"Yes," Cassandra replied. "She ranked second in the test."

"Who got first place?" Actually, Aveline had guessed who it was, but she wanted to hear it directly to make sure she was right.

"Your daughter’s boyfriend." Cassandra still thought Elara and Ren were a couple.

Aveline’s face blossomed into a smile. "You didn’t disappoint me, Ren."

"I was just lucky." Ren would have given a different answer if they were alone.

They continued talking.

Several minutes later, Cassandra decided to leave.

Aveline had persuaded her to stay the night, but Cassandra refused since she had a lot of work to do.

"Ren, Elara, contact me with a communication token if you need help. I will come immediately." Cassandra knew there was no signal in their village.

"Alright." Elara and Ren responded in unison. "Be careful, Instructor Cassandra."

"I will leave now." After saying that, Cassandra ordered the bird to fly toward the Aether Organization.

Once she disappeared into the distance, Ren and the others returned to the living room.

Like before, they chatted again.

At 05:00 pm, Elara headed to the bathroom to take a bath.

At the same time, Aveline went to the kitchen to prepare dinner. To her surprise, Ren walked toward her and embraced her from behind.

Aveline’s body tensed for a second, but the moment she knew who it was, she continued cooking.

"My daughter is at home." Even though she said this, she didn’t remove his hands from her waist.

"She won’t be out anytime soon." Ren knew how long Elara normally took a bath. "I miss you so much, Aveline."

She turned off the stove and turned around to face him. "Me too. I also miss you deeply."

If they were alone earlier, she would have hugged him the moment they met, but Cassandra and Elara were with them, so she could only welcome him normally.

"So, how far have you gone with my daughter?" she asked.

"We kissed and held hands together." He gave an honest answer.

"Only that?" she said in surprise.

"You asked me to take care of her, so I focused on making her happy and taking her to beautiful places." He didn’t regret it.

When he was about to say something, Aveline suddenly cupped his face and pressed his lips against his.

’Hmm?’

His eyes widened in surprise.

Once their lips parted, he smiled happily. "Naughty lady!"

"That’s your reward for taking good care of my daughter." Actually, there were two reasons why she suddenly kissed him.

Firstly, it was to thank him for looking after her daughter and treating her well. Lastly, it was for her own happiness.

Her body missed his, so she needed a sign that they were together again.

"Then, I will reward you for being loyal to me." He took advantage of the situation to feel her pink, tender lips again.

As usual, she welcomed it happily.

She even closed her eyes for a moment as if she were trying to feel his love through his kiss.

Once he separated his lips from hers, Aveline teased him. "I thought you had become more mature and could control yourself. Turns out you are still the same. Pervert!"

"Since you said so, then I will do a naughty thing again." After saying that, Ren pressed his lips against hers again.

This time, he didn’t only give her a simple, normal kiss.

He also used his tongue.

She labelled him as a pervert, so he decided to punish her by kissing her passionately.

Aveline’s eyes widened for a second.

But even so, she opened her little mouth immediately.

She even quickly intertwined his tongue with hers, as if she had been waiting for this since he arrived.

’He is as amazing as ever.’

Her mind slowly melted as they tilted their heads left and right.

Once she was out of breath, she broke the kiss. "Alright. You’ve got what you wanted. Now, go take a shower. Let me get back to cooking dinner."

"Thank you for the kiss, my love." He listened to her.

As he was walking out of the kitchen, her lips curled up into a smile. "He is indeed a perverted young man!"

She turned on the stove and continued cooking.

At 07:00 pm, they had dinner together.

While they were eating, Ren and Elara remembered Sean’s words.

"Mother, Uncle Sean, and Uncle Daniel said the new head of Valcrest Village has been bothering you. What’s going on?" Elara asked.

Aveline’s mood changed slightly as she remembered it. "Yes. He keeps bothering me, saying he wants to marry me. He even said it would be good if our two villages joined together and became one."

Ren’s face darkened.

He was enraged, but he remained silent.

Only a terrifying light flashed in his eyes.

Elara was also angry.

She believed he had a hidden intention. "What was your reply?"
