Chapter 265: Jinx
Both of them simply nodded.
"It’s good. I don’t have any problem with it. The weather doesn’t really matter anyway. It’s not like we’ll get sick just because it’s a little cold."
"Yeah."
Asher nodded and took another sip of his juice before looking at the two of them.
"Then it’s decided. Let’s go."
The three of them started walking together, leaving the Academy Gate behind as they made their way toward the city.
Meanwhile, Eldric’s Clone and the Dragon finally completed the discussion they were having about what they needed to do right now and what they would have to do in the future.
They had discussed everything they considered important for the moment, including when they should act, what they should avoid doing, and how they would deal with the situation once the right opportunity appeared.
After the discussion was over, Eldric’s Clone simply turned into mana as Eldric dismissed it.
However, there was no need for the Clone to remain any longer. Everything they had discussed had already been transferred to Eldric’s real body, so nothing important was lost when the Clone disappeared.
After dismissing the Clone, Eldric remained still for a moment before looking toward the direction of the Academy.
He then started heading back toward the Academy so he could return to his usual duties.
There was also another reason he wanted to return soon.
If his guess was correct, someone else was probably waiting for him to come back.
Meanwhile, in Academy City.
Asher and his teammates had just walked out of the water park after spending some time playing and having fun. They had stayed there for quite some time, and after finally leaving, the three of them decided to get some snacks before heading back and having dinner.
It was only six in the evening, so they still had around two hours before dinner.
Asher also had one more important thing to do.
He needed to restock his ice cream from his usual restaurant.
The three of them then started walking toward the restaurant where Asher had bought ice cream the last time. It was also the same restaurant where he had previously gotten involved in an incident with Cedric.
As they continued walking through the streets of Academy City, everything around them was still lively. Students were returning home, shops were getting busier, and the streets were filled with people enjoying their evening.
After walking for a while, they were getting closer to the restaurant.
Noah suddenly looked toward the restaurant and spoke in a joking tone.
"I hope nothing happens this time there."
The moment he said this, both Aria and Asher stopped walking.
Noah also stopped after noticing them.
Asher slowly turned his head toward Noah and looked at him with a slightly annoyed expression.
"You are washing utensils today, idiot. You just had to jinx it."
Noah’s expression immediately changed."What? I was just joking!"
But Asher just ignored him.
Noah sighed.
"I knew I shouldn’t have said anything."
Asher, however, simply turned around and continued walking toward the restaurant as if the matter had already been decided.
"Keep talking. Maybe I’ll make you clean the entire kitchen too."
Noah quickly followed after him.
"Wait, you’re not actually serious, right?"
Asher ignored him and simply continued walking toward the restaurant.
Aria also followed after him, while Noah walked behind them with a nervous feeling in his heart. Knowing Asher, Noah wouldn’t be surprised if he actually made him wash utensils if something really did happen at the restaurant.
’Why did I have to say that?’ Noah thought to himself as he followed them.
After walking for a few more minutes, they finally reached the restaurant.
Just like always, there were two guards standing on both sides of the entrance. They were there to maintain order and make sure that no one caused trouble inside the restaurant, though they are useless since last time they did nothing.
Asher didn’t pay much attention to them and simply walked toward the entrance with Aria and Noah following behind him.
However, the moment they tried to enter, both guards stepped forward and stopped them.
One of the guards immediately bowed slightly and spoke in a respectful tone.
"Sorry, sir, but there are no tables available right now. The whole restaurant has been booked by the Young Master of the Windrake Family."
Asher stopped after hearing this.
For a moment, he remained silent.
Then he slowly turned his head toward Noah.
A small smile appeared on his face.
Noah’s expression immediately became nervous.
’This isn’t my fault.’
He already knew what Asher was thinking.
Asher looked at him for a moment before speaking.
"So, Noah, anything you would like to say now? Because of you, I now have to wait for my ice cream."
Noah immediately looked away from Asher’s face.
His voice trembled slightly as he replied.
"Well, it’s not my fault. It’s actually Adam’s fault for reserving the whole restaurant."
Asher’s expression suddenly changed.
He looked slightly confused after hearing Adam’s name.
"Adam?"
Aria also noticed the change in his expression and looked at him with a strange expression.
Then she said,
"Windrake is Adam’s family. You really don’t remember it?"
Asher remained silent for a moment.
He looked back toward the restaurant, then toward the guards, and finally at Noah and Aria.
"So this is Adam’s doing?"
After hearing that it was Adam, Asher’s expression became calm again.
He looked toward the guards and simply said,
"Hey, go tell that Adam that Asher is here."
The guard immediately nodded respectfully.
"Yes, sir."
He then turned around and quickly went inside the restaurant.
Asher remained standing outside with Aria and Noah.
After a few minutes, the guard finally returned.
He bowed slightly toward Asher and said,
"Sir, you may enter."Asher nodded as if he had expected this response from the beginning.
"Alright."He then started walking inside.
Aria followed him without saying anything, while Noah also quickly followed after them.
The three of them finally entered the restaurant together.
