Chapter 200: Room 1
After hearing this, the demon’s expression became even uglier. No one had ever spoken to her the way the demon in front of her was speaking to her now.
She looked at Asher with anger in her eyes and then said, "I can enchant others and turn them into my puppets. I can also absorb the souls of other beings to recover myself. I can show others illusions of what they desire most, and those illusions will feel almost completely real."
She paused for a moment before continuing, her voice filled with anger.
"And within my domain, I can make them live the life they have always wanted. The longer they remain inside my domain, the more their life force will gradually be depleted until they eventually die."
Her crimson eyes narrowed as she continued explaining her abilities.
"Even if they manage to wake up from the illusion, as long as they remain inside my domain, their life force will continue to drain at a slow rate. They will become weaker with every passing moment, while I become stronger with every second that passes within my domain."
After hearing about the demon’s abilities, Asher thought for a moment before speaking in a mocking tone.
"So, in short, you’re just a useless Grandmaster-rank demon who would probably die if even a Master-rank human managed to get close enough to you and cut off your head. It’s not even surprising that the Church was able to capture a weak Grandmaster-rank demon like you."
He paused for a moment, looking at the demon with a calm expression before continuing.
"But at least you’ll be useful against some Master-rank humans. I suppose I should still set you free."
The demon was deeply insulted by Asher’s words, and anger was clearly visible in her eyes. However, when she heard that he was actually planning to set her free, she decided not to argue with him.
She remained silent while Asher continued examining the restraints around her containment chamber.
’Just how did a low-rank demon like him even manage to get free when I couldn’t?’ she wondered.
Her anger slowly turned into anticipation as she thought about what would happen once she was released.
’Just let him free me first. Once I’m out of this place, I’ll show him the true might of a Grandmaster-rank demon. This stupid weakling...’
Her gaze then shifted toward the black fog surrounding Asher’s hand.
’If it weren’t for that strange black fog that was able to touch my phantom body, I would have already absorbed his soul and turned his body into my puppet.’
Despite her thoughts, the demon remained completely silent, patiently waiting for Asher to deactivate the restraints. She decided that there was no point in revealing her intentions yet.
Asher finally let go of the demon’s phantom body and dismissed the black fog surrounding his hand.
The black fog had been carefully controlled by Asher the entire time. He had deliberately maintained it in a way that allowed him to touch and restrain the phantom without actually damaging it.
If Asher had allowed the black fog to spread freely, the phantom body would have been erased long ago.
The demon’s phantom slowly moved away from him after being released, returning toward her main body inside the containment tube. Although she was still wary of Asher, there were no visible injuries on her phantom.
Asher simply watched her for a moment before turning his attention back toward the restraints, preparing to deactivate them.
Meanwhile, in Room 1, another one of Asher’s vessels entered the room.
As soon as he stepped inside, Asher’s body suddenly felt strange. His blood began behaving unusually, as though it had been influenced by some invisible force.
Asher immediately became alert and looked toward the place where the demon was being restrained.
Inside the large test tube, surrounded by numerous formations and enchantments, was the humanoid figure of a female demon.
She had pale skin and long crimson hair that fell around her body. Her figure appeared extremely thin, almost as if she hadn’t eaten anything for days.
Despite her weak appearance, the strange sensation in Asher’s blood continued to grow stronger the closer he got to the containment chamber.
It was a Grandmaster-rank Vampire.
Even though the demon looked incredibly weak in her current state, Asher was certain that the demon in front of him was far more dangerous than any of the other demons he had encountered in the previous rooms.
There was something different about her presence, and the strange reaction of his blood only made Asher more certain of it.
Asher then began looking around the room for a switch or mechanism that could deactivate the restraints.
However, no matter how carefully he searched, he couldn’t find anything.
There was no switch.
No control panel.
Nothing that could directly deactivate the formations and restraints surrounding the Vampire.
Asher’s expression became slightly thoughtful.
’So, the Church was this wary of her that they didn’t even create a switch to deactivate the restraints.’
It seemed that they had deliberately designed the containment system so that the Vampire could never be released through a simple mechanism.
So, Asher decided to use a different method.
He summoned a sphere of dark Spatial Mana in his hand and directed it toward the mechanism maintaining the Vampire’s restraints. The sphere began distorting the space around it as Asher carefully targeted the source of the restraints rather than the demon herself.
A moment later, the restraint mechanism was destroyed, and the formations surrounding the Vampire began to weaken.
Meanwhile, in the other rooms, all of Asher’s vessels had already found the mechanisms controlling the demons’ restraints. One after another, they deactivated them almost simultaneously.
The formations surrounding the contained demons began fading, and the restraints that had kept them imprisoned for so long finally started to loosen.
And as soon as the restraints were deactivated, a loud alarm suddenly rang throughout the entire facility.
However, it was already too late.
