She brought Lin Yun all the way back to the Mo Family’s main hall. Setting him down, Mo Qingshui said with a cold expression, "You will live here at the Mo Family estate from now on. The day you withdraw from Flawless Palace is the day I’ll grant you your freedom."
’What the hell? She’s putting me under house arrest!’ Lin Yun thought. Aloud, he said, "My master will definitely come to save me."
"And who might your master be?" Unimpressed, Mo Qingshui asked. The Mo Family had the backing of the Wuji Sect; they had no reason to fear Flawless Palace.
"My master is Luo Feng, of course," Lin Yun replied. "Didn’t I already say? I came here on a special trip to wish you a happy birthday."
In truth, Luo Feng wasn’t his master yet. He only said so to confirm his own suspicions and to try and bait Mo Qingshui into revealing something.
Just as he’d expected, Mo Qingshui’s expression shifted the moment she heard Luo Feng was his master. Her gaze on Lin Yun grew complicated, and a flicker of fondness even crossed her eyes. Though it vanished in an instant, Lin Yun caught it.

Upon learning Lin Yun was Luo Feng’s disciple, Mo Qingshui felt a glimmer of fondness for him. ’If it weren’t for Bai Ling, Luo Feng would never have left me. In that case, I would be his master’s wife right now,’ she thought.
