Chapter 142 Batshit Mad
He states.
"I think he must he must have had something to do with that." He turns to fully face me when I say that.
"What do you mean?"
"Courtney had seen me and Calix that night. She caught us together in the restroom. And she was apparently mad about it. She stormed off, and Calix followed after her, and that had been the last time anyone saw of her."
"So you’re saying Calix might have been the one who murdered her?"
"I don’t know for sure. I am getting a really iffy hunch."
"I could tell something was up with you.
That is why I always ask, but you keep giving me one excuse or the other and say that everything is fine! Why did you keep this from me?" He glowered.
"At first, it was because I did not want to cause a rift between you two.
I did not want to be the reason your friendship would fall apart. I am sorry for not telling you. I did not mean to, I was just so afraid. But right now I am even more afraid, and I cannot take it anymore.
After what he did in the library just now I decided that I could no longer keep it a secret.
He scares the hell out of me.
I don’t want to end up like Courtney. Or be expelled. Please help me." I say tearfully. He pulls me into a hug, patting my back, his other hand smoothing my hair.
"That will not happen. I promise."

"Hey look! Isn’t that Rex?" Curtis says as he taps Lucas who paused his gaming on his phone to look over the Lounge’s balcony out onto the spacious parking lot. "Where is he going? He looks mad." He says more to himself than anyone.
"Are those flowers that he is holding?" Asked Curtis. The both of them curiously watching as Rex angrily approaches the car and gets inside. They both looked at each other, a thought simultaneously sparking in their heads. They both immediately start running down to the parking lot. When they reached there, they saw the car speeding off.
"I don’t have a good feeling about this. I have never seen him so mad before. Have you?" Curtis asked, only to notice that he was talking to himself as Lucas wasn’t there with him. Lucas who was getting into Dominic’s car called out to him. "Are you coming or not?"
"I’m coming!" They entered the car and drove out of the school premises, trailing after Rex’s car to know he was heading. And they find themselves passing through a very familiar road. "He is heading home?"
"I don’t think so. Let’s keep following him and see where he goes." Lucas responds. Rex’s car came to an abrupt stop ahead, and he came down from it, holding those flowers they had seen him taken to the car. Lucas and Curtis threw a curious glance at each other once again, asking themselves the same question. What did he come to do at home, and why is he so angry?
They were deeply curious and concerned as to why because it is very unnatural to them as they have never seen him slightly angry before, let alone looking so pissed. They hurriedly got down from the car and entered into the house to see a scene that they never expected, nor had seen before unfolding.
CALIX
Her words are still resounding over and over again in my head like a fucking audio on loop. The plan had been to go out for an early morning run to burnout my raging energy and thoughts.
And then come back to an alone space to plan how to take on my next mission. I had been on the run when I suddenly got the thought of going to school to see Gweneth and ask her why the fucking hell she had done what she did.
No amount of running and breathlessness could clear the thought nor the rage of what she had done. I had dropped by the school last night also to break into her locker and put those things there to fucking give her a scare.
I had first unleashed my anger on the Roses by cutting some of the flowers away from the stems and tearing up the Teddy bear to pieces.
She refused to accept them when they were all nice and beautiful. She is going to now that they are dirty and torn apart.
She could have at least kept them for a few minutes at most before deciding to do that. But no!
She did not consider it at all. She disposed it off like dirt right after I gave them to her.
I could not sleep nor relax when I got home. I went at my sandbag for hours. I have never been so mad about anything before.
I don’t even know why exactly.
The fact that she had thrown them away? Or because I know I am nothing to her but a monster that she fears and hates?
I have been building a borderline to the first one, but I can’t push aside the thought, nor the bitter feeling of the other one. It was still pretty early when I arrived at school. I stayed on the top floor balcony of the administration building, uselessly waiting for her to arrive—which she did.
I lost her in the hallways but found out where she was shortly after.
At the library.
Reaching there, I found her alone. It then suddenly became a great place to question her and punish her a little for her crime. But instead of going to confront her right away like I had planned, I realized myself silently watching her. Seeing her smile so radiantly to herself, her dark eyes smiling too as she walked around the library had stupidly got to me for a few seconds before my brain could even realize it. And when it did, it made me even more pissed! That is the same way she smiles at him every time. How dare she smile?
I effectively moved to corner her behind a shelf. I loved the fear that reflected in her eyes and movements when she saw me.
