Chapter 460 - 459: Why Are You Here?
Seeing the old lady’s anxious expression, Yiyi quickly said, "Grandma, don’t worry, we’ll find Little Tao. It’s so late, you should go inside and rest, sorry for disturbing you."
"It’s no disturbance at all. You’re Little Tao’s friend, right? How about I follow and help you look for her?"
Seeing the old lady’s gray hair, Yiyi quickly shook her head and said, "No need, Grandma. Besides us, there are many others searching too. We will definitely find Little Tao."
"Alright, I’ll leave it to you then. Little Tao headed in that direction. I saw her leave with my own eyes." At the end, the old lady couldn’t help but add, "Maybe I should follow you and ask around. Maybe someone else has seen Little Tao."
"Grandma, really, there’s no need. We will find Little Tao. You should go rest quickly."
The old lady, thinking of her age, knew that she would only be a hindrance if she followed, so she nodded quickly and said, "Alright, you go find her quickly, I won’t add to your confusion." She then waved at Yiyi and the others.
Yiyi and Yun Chu immediately went in the direction the old lady pointed out. They asked several families, and indeed, some people had seen Wen Tao. However, they only knew she went in a certain direction, and they found no other clues.
"Miss, Old Master Ding’s people are surely out searching already. I’ll contact them to focus on this route. She definitely went missing here."
Yiyi nodded quickly upon hearing this, "Yes, contact them at once and have them send some people over here to look."
Not long after Yun Chu made the contact, a team soon arrived on site.
"Yun Chu, don’t worry about me. Go with them to work, I’ll follow behind and keep looking for clues."
Upon hearing this, Yun Chu nodded and immediately led the search.
The people dispatched by Old Master Ding were all quite capable. Under Yun Chu’s leadership, they worked efficiently and received information within an hour.
Once Yun Chu got the news, he immediately reported back to Yiyi.
"Miss, we’ve found out that Miss Wen indeed went missing here. Someone saw her shortly before, and then she was gone in a blink, they didn’t pay much attention. At the spot they mentioned, we found signs of a struggle, confirming that Miss Wen has been abducted."
Hearing this, Yiyi’s face turned very grim.
"Is there a way to seal off all exits of Shangjing?"
However, Yun Chu frowned and said, "I’m afraid Miss Wen might have already been smuggled out of Shangjing. She disappeared this morning, after all."
Upon hearing this, Yiyi’s face immediately darkened.
Indeed, Wen Tao’s disappearance had been for some time now, and in that time, it was uncertain where she might be taken.
Just then, Wen Lin hurried over with urgency.
"Miss Ding, have you seen Zhirong?"
Upon hearing this, Yiyi was momentarily stunned, "What’s wrong? Earlier, we searched for Xie Yuanzhou together, then split up. She should be looking for Little Tao too."
Wen Lin’s expression was graver than ever.
"I just received news that Zhirong is also missing."
"What..."
Yiyi was full of surprise, "How can that be? When I returned to the Ding Family to find my grandfather, she went home to find her father."
"I heard she never returned home, and Uncle Wei hasn’t seen her. Yuan Zhou was the first to notice she was gone."
Yiyi only felt that the situation was getting more complicated.
Wen Tao’s disappearance was one thing, but now even Wei Zhirong was missing. What on earth happened, why did they both go missing one after another?
Yiyi quickly realized the key point, looking up at Wen Lin she said, "Could it be that the same group took both Zhirong and Little Tao?"
"How did you know Little Tao was taken?"
Although Wen Lin had a premonition, he still hoped with a glimmer of hope that his sister wasn’t abducted.
"We’ve already determined that Little Tao was taken, there are signs of a confrontation in that area, she certainly had a conflict with someone."
"Where did you find this?"
Wen Lin, eager to talk about Wei Zhirong’s matter, hadn’t realized they had already found this clue.
Yiyi directly took Wen Lin to the front, "Little Tao must have been taken here. If the same group took both Zhirong and Little Tao, it means they’re still in Shangjing. We must act quickly and seal off all exits."
Wen Lin finally snapped back to reality then, nodding hurriedly, "You’re right, I’ll contact my father immediately."
Meanwhile, Yiyi also rushed to contact Old Master Ding, using the Ding Family’s influence to seal off Shangjing as best they could.
On the other side, both the Xie Family and the Wei Family were also putting all their effort into it, and the whole of Shangjing was bustling with activity.
Yet, Yiyi and the others couldn’t worry about much else, the most important thing now was to get the people back.
"Miss Ding, let’s meet up with Yuan Zhou and the others first."
Yiyi nodded upon hearing this.
However, when she saw Xie Yuanzhou, she was slightly surprised, as his usually calm demeanor was now replaced with restlessness as he paced back and forth.
On the other hand, Xie Yuanguang was trying to comfort him, "Alright Yuan Zhou, don’t worry, we’ll definitely find them. Let’s discuss some strategies and then start the search."
Hearing this, Xie Yuanzhou finally stopped pacing.
Seeing Yiyi, he quickly approached her, asking, "Yiyi, did Zhirong say anything to you when we parted ways? Did she leave with you?"
Yiyi shook her head and said, "After we parted from you, we barely spoke before going our separate ways. I returned to the Ding Family, and she went home."
"She never returned home at all."
Seeing Xie Yuanzhou’s anxious demeanor, Yiyi could finally be sure that he had developed feelings for Zhirong. But now, Wei Zhirong had disappeared.
Shaking her head, Yiyi didn’t dwell on it further, instead looking at Xie Yuanzhou, she said, "Let’s search quickly, Shangjing isn’t that big, I don’t believe we won’t find them."
Xie Yuanguang nodded in agreement, "Yes, we’ll definitely find them."
After a few more words, they split up to take action.
Yiyi focused on the eastern part of Shangjing, conducting a thorough search with Yun Chu and others. However, they found nothing, so she expanded the search area, leading the team directly to the East Suburb, unexpectedly running into someone very familiar.
"Tingyu, why are you here?"
