Chapter 103: Ch 103: Gay Awakening and Courage
While Su Wanyan returned to her steady rhythm, each movement growing more graceful and controlled under the bright sun, Gu Chengze continued to stare at her with intensity that looked as though he wanted to burn a hole straight through her skull.
She really must have cheated! There is just no way she finished earlier than I did! He fumed inwardly, glaring daggers across the field.
Su Wanyan remained unfazed by the burning gaze. Even after a full minute had passed and Gu Chengze still had not looked away, she only sighed quietly to herself. What does this man want from me? The mixture of annoyance and exasperation grew stronger with every second.
Finally she could ignore it no longer. She looked up and met his eyes directly. Gu Chengze answered the contact with a cold scoff. Su Wanyan furrowed her brows in exasperated confusion. I haven’t even done anything yet, she thought, genuinely wondering what went on inside his head.
She pushed the irritation aside and smiled—though the smile never reached her eyes. Raising her voice so it carried clearly across the open field, she called out, "Like what you’re seeing, Teacher Gu?"
For added theatrics she leaned her weight on the shovel and rested her chin casually on the grip handle.
The loud tone immediately stopped the other two alphas. Qin Yuran and Zhao Yichen looked up, both becoming alert in case the exchange turned physical again. At the same time Mo Xingxue, recognizing the familiar voice, lifted her head from the seed rows.
She spotted Su Wanyan standing with that easygoing, mischievous smile that always meant she was up to no good. A matching smirk curved Mo Xingxue’s lips as she gave the scene her full attention.
Following her gaze, the man instructing the omegas, Song Meiyu, Han Jiho, and Lin Xuanyu all turned toward the alphas’ plots as well. While the other two omegas looked worried that another fight might break out, the man focused solely on the quality of Su Wanyan’s work.
She already finished the grass? He thought, admiration bloomed in his chest. How impressive. He remembered the confident smile she had worn earlier and allowed himself a small inward chuckle. Looks like she really did have the skills to back that confidence. A beat later every trace of emotion left his face and the cold expression returned.
Lin Xuanyu watched Gu Chengze with clear anxiety. He was certain that if a fight started his beloved would win, yet he could not stop the worry. What he conveniently forgot was that Gu Chengze had already been punched by Su Wanyan twice before.
Just as the tension thickened, the man cleared his throat. "Attention please," he said, voice cold as ice. The three omegas snapped their focus back to him with wry smiles and forced themselves to listen.
On the alphas’ side, Gu Chengze frowned at Su Wanyan’s question. What does this inferior alpha mean? He crossed his arms, radiating a dangerous, cold aura. "What do you mean?" he demanded, still glaring.
Su Wanyan smirked, amusement glinting in her eyes. She kept the lazy posture and raised one eyebrow. "Well, by how intense you were staring at me earlier....." She paused for effect and leaned in slightly. "I thought I turned you gay." Soft laughter escaped her throat.
Gu Chengze’s eyes widened as though they might pop from his skull. This fucker! He gnashed his teeth and began striding toward her plot, cracking his knuckles as he walked. "What did you just say?" His voice rose sharply on the last words.
Unfazed, Su Wanyan only smiled and shrugged. "Hey, just a thought. You never know, right?" She continued the taunt without missing a beat. "I’m not against stuff like that, however I only have eyes for omegas, you see."
Gu Chengze’s expression turned black as the bottom of a pot. He reached her section, violently grabbed her collar, and yanked her closer. Su Wanyan simply smiled up at him.
"What did you say to me?" he demanded, eyes burning with fury.
In response Su Wanyan only smiled.

While the adults remained locked in a heated and tense situation back at the farm plots, PD Xu Cui and the two children finally reached the open field where the village children usually played. The space was wide and sunny, with plenty of room to run.
Scattered across the ground were several simple DIY obstacles—low wooden beams, rope lines, and stacked stones—clearly built by the children themselves for their games.
A lively group of kids was already there, laughing and racing across the grass. One boy slapped another’s shoulder and shouted, "Tag! You’re it!" before taking off at full speed, the newly tagged child chasing after him with bright, bubbling laughter that warmed the air.
The moment Shen Guoxing saw so many unfamiliar faces, she instinctively pressed herself against PD Xu Cui’s leg and wrapped both arms around it as though she wanted to disappear into the fabric. I knew I shouldn’t have come! she thought, already regretting the words she had spoken earlier.
Feeling the tight hold, PD Xu Cui looked down and smiled. He rested a gentle hand on her head and smoothed her hair. "Take your time to prepare yourself—both emotionally and physically," he said softly.
Shen Guoxing tilted her face up toward him. In a small, meek voice she asked, "Do you think I can make any friends, Grandpa Cui?"
PD Xu Cui met the scared yet hopeful light in her eyes and nodded without a single hesitation. "Definitely."
Shen Guoxing pressed her lips together, then let out a quiet "Hehe." The soft sound melted something in PD Xu Cui’s chest.
He crouched down so their eyes were level and gave her shoulder a comforting pat. The warm smile never left his face. "You can do it, Xing’er," he said. "I know—"
Before he could finish, Mo Yan, still nestled in his other arm, let out a series of clear babbles that sounded suspiciously like disagreement with the word "I."
Both PD Xu Cui and Shen Guoxing turned to look at the baby. Then they looked at each other and broke into laughter.
"I see. Pardon your grandpa," PD Xu Cui said, still chuckling as he pinched Mo Yan’s soft cheek as though she were a living toy. "Correction—we know that you can do it." He emphasized the word carefully. "So go out there and socialize."
Mo Yan answered with another string of approving babbles, her phoenix eyes sparkling as if she fully agreed.
Feeling the combined support of the two, Shen Guoxing pressed her lips together once more. A small smile slowly formed, then grew brighter until the familiar, blinding grin returned. "Okay!" she declared.
PD Xu Cui chuckled and ruffled her hair with his free hand. "Atta girl."
Shen Guoxing laughed, stepped closer, and gently touched Mo Yan’s tiny hand. "Jiejie will come back with good news soon," she promised.
Mo Yan laughed in reply, her eyes twinkling with pure delight.
Shen Guoxing stepped back, waved once, and finally walked toward the lively group of children, ready to make her debut.

"I can see your butt sticking out!" a girl who looked about five years old shouted, her loud voice ringing across the playground.
"No fair! You’re cheating!" the spotted child immediately protested, as though the visible position of her own backside was somehow not her responsibility.
The other children nodded in unison.
"You’re way too good at this game," a boy said as he walked up to the girl who had done the spotting. She flashed a bright smile and posed with a peace sign, clearly proud of her sharp eyes.
"Let’s just play tag," another child suggested, wiping sweat from his forehead with the hem of his shirt. The rest of the group quickly agreed and began shifting into position for the new game.
Then a voice none of them recognized spoke up.
"Can I join?"
Every head turned toward the sound. An extremely cute little girl was walking toward them, wearing a meek but friendly smile. The children searched their memories, yet none of them could place who she was.
Shen Guoxing stopped a short distance in front of the group and offered a shy smile. "Can I?" she asked, her tone soft and uncertain.
The children finally snapped out of their collective stupor and nodded at once.
"Ye–yeah!" the sharp-eyed girl said, stepping forward and extending her hand for a handshake.
Shen Guoxing looked at the offered hand and tilted her head slightly to one side. Is this how kids nowadays introduce themselves? She wondered inwardly, momentarily forgetting that she herself was currently a child.
Still, she gently took the hand and shook it with calm politeness
"Shen Guoxing," she said, a friendly and bright smile blooming on her lips. "Or Xing for short.
The other girl blinked, then answered almost on instinct. "Leilei. You can call me Leilei.".
Shen Guoxing chuckled softly at the straightforward reply. "Nice to meet you, Leilei."
What Shen Guoxing did not yet know was that this simple encounter with a new friend would one day change the course of her life.
