Chapter 2051 - 2052: The Truth Behind the Seclusion
A few days later, the entire Kunwu Sect was enveloped in a festive atmosphere. Yes, the long-awaited day of the Sect Master candidate grand competition had finally arrived!
Moreover, following this grand competition was the Sect Master’s birthday banquet! This was a momentous occasion for the Kunwu Sect!
Before dawn, the square was already packed with crowds.
Most of these people were from forces outside of the Kunwu Sect. Perhaps, to the Kunwu Sect, the weight of the Sect Master candidate wasn’t as significant, but for them, it was like placing bets and choosing sides!
As long as the candidate they bet on became the Sect Master, it would be immensely beneficial for the development of their force.
These forces had already started taking action a few days prior, visiting the various family candidates, offering gifts and paying respects!
Of course, the Liu Family’s candidates always ended up in the last place, and even if they became the Deputy Sect Master, their power was essentially stripped away. This time, the Liu Family’s Deputy Sect Master was severely injured, becoming almost a cripple. Whether the Liu Family could continue to exist was uncertain! Therefore, naturally, no one came to the Liu Family to form alliances; they were too busy avoiding them!
Most members of the Liu Family might be unaware of these matters, but for those external forces, it was no longer a secret.
At this moment, in the Liu Family courtyard, all the Liu Family members who had come to the Kunwu Sect were standing in the yard, including the Family Head, except for Ye Luo.
"Haha, is that guy really planning to enter a life-or-death closed-door cultivation, or is he just afraid his strength is too weak and doesn’t dare to come out for the grand competition?" Liu Cheng scoffed.
Upon hearing this, Liu Mei glared at him fiercely, "Don’t assume everyone is like you. Liu Qing isn’t like that!"
"Oh? Then what kind of person is he? The grand competition is about to start, yet he’s going into a life-or-death retreat. Don’t you know this has already spread throughout the entire Kunwu Sect? Now, thanks to him, our Liu Family’s face is completely lost!"
