Infinite Mana: I Am The Absolute Supreme

Chapter 178: Immortals came to fight

Victor stood in the vast, quiet expanse of space, his purple eyes scanning the subtle ripples left behind by his actions. The fabric of reality was still trembling from the absolute erasure of the Universal Emperor, sending shockwaves through the underlying laws of the cosmos. Yet, before the remaining ancient race soldiers could even process the sudden departure of their commander, the ambient light in the surrounding void began to warp.

The flow of time, which had briefly unsealed, ground to a complete halt once more. The drifting debris, the blazing Phoenix flames, and the terrified soldiers were all rendered utterly motionless. Victor turned his gaze slightly to the side. Standing in the empty space beside him was an amiable looking old man with a kind smile on his face.

Though the old man was not radiating any aura or power, Victor could immediately tell he was an immortal. And a very powerful one at that, or else he could not have destroyed the timestop just now.

"My friend, may I know your identity?" the old man asked gently.

"I am Victor Walker. I came here to search the ancient dragon race, but I owed the Ice Flame Phoenixes some debt of gratitude, so I decided to help them. And who are you?" Victor asked.

"Victor Walker? Are you the person who contracted a beast from the 8th Astral Realm?" the old man asked with some surprise.

"That was not my question," Victor said in a cold tone.

"Uhh, I am sorry. I am Orium Valere. I am the ancestor of the Light Flame Phoenix branch. Now, can you tell me if you are the one I just talked about?" the old man said softly.

Victor nodded without any hesitation. "It is indeed I."

"Then you are currently merged with your astral beast? No wonder your aura felt somewhat off and you can actually kill that golden dragon with a semi immortal level master," Orium muttered to himself, his keen eyes observing the faint silver glow surrounding Victor’s form.

After a brief moment of silence, the old man looked ahead, peering through the boundary of the isolated pocket of space he had created to enclose their dialogue.

"You said you have a connection with the Ice Flame Phoenixes? Then I won’t make an enemy out of you. I will immediately release that woman. But do you know the ancestor of the Ice Flame Phoenixes is currently in a very dangerous situation?" Orium asked.

"I don’t owe him that much. If fate allows, I’ll help him probably. If not, then so be it," Victor replied.

After merging with Astrion, Victor thought that he could probably even fight with a cosmic entity if he went all out. That was why he had become so confident and let his presence be known to the Core Region in such a dramatic fashion. He had no desire to entangle himself in every single conflict of the ancient races unless it directly served his purpose or settled a clear debt.

"Is that so? Then, I guess you won’t be the guest of our humble abode as well?" Orium asked, maintaining his polite demeanor despite the terrifying display of power Victor had showcased moments earlier.

"That’s right. Tell me, where does the ancient dragon race live?" Victor asked directly.

Orium did not hesitate or try to bargain. He instantly raised a finger and transmitted a set of precise spatial coordinates directly into Victor’s mind. The territory of the ancient dragon race was located several thousand light years away from this current coordinate, deep within a heavily guarded sector of the Core Region.

"Alright, I’ll be leaving. Restrain your people not to attack the Ice Phoenix while they are down," Victor warned him, his voice carrying an underlying weight that left no room for negotiation.

Without waiting for a response, Victor stepped backward into the void and vanished completely.

The old man sighed softly and vanished as well.

The entire time they were talking, they had been standing inside a separate space created by Orium, so no one on the outer battlefield had noticed their conversation or even realized an ancient ancestor had descended.

As Orium reappeared in the normal realm of space, he turned his gaze toward the surviving Titan forces that had been allied with his branch during the assault. His pleasant smile instantly vanished, replaced by an expression of cold indifference. He looked at the Titans and snorted.

The next moment, he waved his hand, and all the Titans vanished from there without leaving a single trace behind.

Then, Orium vanished once more, leaving the battlefield completely devoid of any high level aggressors.

The next instant, the temporal lock finally shattered for good. The people from both sides finally regained their senses, rubbing their eyes as they looked around in absolute shock. The overwhelming army of Titans, along with their remaining Universal Emperors, were completely gone. The oppressive aura that had threatened to wipe out the Ice Flame Phoenix branch had vanished into thin air.

Before the remaining soldiers could comprehend what had transpired, an ancient, resounding voice echoed inside the heads of every Light Flame Phoenix member present.

"Release the Ice Flame girl. And the war is over. If anyone dares to cause trouble for the Ice Flame branch, that will be considered as treason and his entire family will be executed."

All the Light Flame Phoenix soldiers felt their bloodline churn out of sheer terror. The command did not merely sound in their ears, it vibrated deep within their origin seals. This voice actually came from their bloodline itself. That meant one of the highest supreme ancestors of their entire race had just personally issued this absolute order.

The Light Flame Phoenix leaders on the field turned pale. They immediately ran away to get the young lady of the Ice Flame branch from her prison, eager to fulfill the ancestor’s decree, while the common soldiers all started running away from the battle line in total panic.

A moment later, the space above the frozen Ice Flame Phoenix defensive line shuddered gently.

"Ice Phoenix branch, you should all leave as well. The war is over," the same ancient voice was heard again, but this time echoing from the very space itself, reassuring the battered defenders that the threat had officially passed.

...

Far away from the Phoenix battleground, space tore open in an uninhabited, desolate star zone filled with shattered planetary fragments and dead asteroids. Victor stepped out of the spatial rift, his silver hair swaying in the cosmic wind.

"Master, I can sense some immortals are coming. The universe probably is feeding our live location to them," Astrion said in a grim tone inside Victor’s soul.

"I can sense them as well. That’s why I came here so that I can fight them without destroying innocent lives," Victor smiled, his expression showing a mixture of anticipation and cold thrill.

He did not have to wait long. Within seconds, several powerful, oppressive auras warped into the surrounding void. However, instead of rushing forward, these powerful figures stopped a considerable distance away from him, anchoring themselves in the darkness as they observed him from afar. They were ancient, experienced beings, and none of them were reckless enough to jump into a fight without measuring their opponent’s true strength first, especially after receiving the cosmic distress signal regarding an unauthorized space-time erasure.

Using their divine senses, the hidden figures began to converse rapidly across the void.

"He is merged with his astral pet. He should be done soon. His mana shouldn’t allow this merge much longer. So we should wait until he becomes normal," someone suggested, analyzing the peculiar dual structure of Victor’s present aura.

"What would that do? He would still have an immortal level backer by his side. We should attack him now. I say, he is probably weaker than his astral pet as he shouldn’t be able to use many immortal level techniques like the real deal," another voice countered, sounding far more eager to strike while Victor’s body was still adjusting to the divine energy flowing through him.

Listening to their cautious whispering and hesitant probing across the vast expanse, Victor grew tired of the endless posturing. He folded his arms across his chest, his purple eyes flashing with a terrifying light as his voice cut directly through their private spatial channels.

"You, stop that chit chat and come already. What the fuck are you waiting for?" Victor said in an annoying tone, taunting the hidden immortals to step into the light.

The silence that followed Victor’s provocation was heavy, suffocating, and absolute.

For ages beyond count, the Immortals who watched over the Core Region had been treated as living gods. Whole star systems bowed at the mere whisper of their names, and entire civilizations rose and fell based on their subtle whims. Yet here, standing in the middle of a desolate graveyard of dead planets, a mortal youth was addressing them as if they were nothing more than bothersome pests blocking his path.

The space around the desolate asteroid field began to buckle under the sudden, furious swell of hidden power. The starlight dimmed, choked out by the staggering weight of authority cascading from the surrounding void.

"Arrogant brat," a voice rumbled, sounding like two tectonic plates grinding together across reality itself. "You borrow the strength of a high-tier astral entity and suddenly believe you stand above the laws of the universe?"
