Chapter 435: Matching Deities
"Mm." The Blade Slaughter Sect Master nodded with a smile. "You've progressed very quickly over the last ten-odd years. I imagine you've had many new insights."
"First, tell me about some of the problems you've encountered, and I will give you some pointers."
The Blade Slaughter Sect Master added with a smile, "Think carefully during my guidance. That way, you'll make even more progress when you enter the Inheritance Palaces."
"Yes, Teacher." Li Yang nodded.
'The opportunities to enter the Inheritance Palaces are limited. Of course I have to seize them and gain the greatest possible benefits.'
"Show me your Space Law..."
And so, the Blade Slaughter Sect Master's guidance began.
The session lasted for a full three hours.
When the guidance was over, the Blade Slaughter Sect Master didn't say much more, just smiled and said, "Go and comprehend what you've learned. If there's anything else you don't understand after that, just come ask me."
"Yes." Li Yang nodded, his heart filled with joy.
In just those three hours, he had clearly made significant progress.
...
After leaving the Blade Slaughter manor, Li Yang arrived at another location.
Before him stood rows of giant palaces, each one emitting a different kind of fluctuation. Some were wreathed in flames, others rippled with water, and some were shrouded in darkness.
These thirteen Inheritance Palaces were the sacred legacy grounds of the Human Race!
'The more I learn, the more I realize just how powerful these thirteen Inheritance Palaces truly are!'
'I'll enter the Thunder Law inheritance ground first.' Without hesitation, Li Yang immediately walked toward the palaces crackling with lightning.
Among Li Yang's four avatars for comprehending laws, the Thunder Star Beast avatar had the weakest Law Talent. It couldn't compare to his two Divine avatars, and it was even inferior to his Sky-Fierce Flood Dragon avatar.
Therefore, Li Yang had encountered the most problems with his Thunder Law.
As soon as he stepped into the palace, a restrictive force washed over him, halting his advance. Then, his wrist device flew out.
"Li Yang, Longevity Realm, twenty-eight inheritance opportunities remaining."
A mechanical voice rang in his ears.
When it came to inheritance opportunities, Li Yang still had plenty.
SWOOSH!
Li Yang's figure vanished on the spot.
He appeared in a strange space containing four incredibly peculiar patterns. These were the four Profound Skills of the Thunder Law.
'Time to start comprehending!'
Li Yang wasted no time and immediately began his comprehension.
Of course, there was no time to waste. The moment his gaze fell upon the patterns, he became completely immersed.
And in the blink of an eye, ten days passed while he was comprehending.
Li Yang was so immersed in comprehending the Profound Skills of the Thunder Law that he had completely lost track of time. Suddenly, a fluctuation passed over him, and his figure vanished.
When he reappeared, Li Yang was outside the palace.
'Time's up?'
Abruptly pulled from his state of comprehension, Li Yang came to his senses.
'That was way too short,' Li Yang thought with a sigh.
Thinking back on the comprehension session, it felt like he had been starving, only to have a grand feast snatched away after just a few bites.
But when he considered the progress he had made, Li Yang was filled with awe.
'The effect is incredible! In just ten days, my Thunder Law has improved by a fair amount!'
Right now, Li Yang's Time Divine Tree avatar was continuously comprehending within the Time Divine Tree clan and had also entered one of their Thunder Law inheritance grounds.
A month had passed there, but it had only solved a small fraction—maybe one percent—of the problems it faced in comprehending the Thunder Law Profound Skill.
But here, in this Thunder Inheritance Palace, he had directly solved one-third of the problems he faced with the Thunder Law Profound Skill!
And that was in just ten days.
With a gleam in his eyes, Li Yang decided against entering a different inheritance ground. Instead, he thought to himself, 'Ten days is nowhere near enough. I still have over twenty opportunities left. I'm going in again!'
Li Yang felt he could solve many more of the problems he was facing with the Thunder Law Profound Skill. His Thunder Law could definitely improve another step!
'I have plenty of opportunities left, so there's no need to be frugal. The most important thing for me right now is to rapidly advance my comprehension of the Laws! I went through a lot to get back here, so if I'm going to consolidate my gains, I'll consolidate them all!' Li Yang took a deep breath and entered the Thunder Law inheritance ground once more!
Besides, he could earn more inheritance opportunities in the future. Now was not the time to be conservative.
And so, Li Yang spent another ten days inside.
'I've had more breakthroughs with the Thunder Law, and I can still improve! I'll go in again!'
Still feeling unsatisfied, Li Yang entered the Thunder Law inheritance ground for a third time.
This time, he finally felt that he had more or less digested the various issues he had previously encountered with the Thunder Law.
The key was that his Laws had previously taken a huge leap forward in the Star Moon Race's inheritance ground—progress equivalent to decades of normal cultivation—which had left him with numerous insights to process.
'I spent a month on the Thunder Law, so I'll spend a month on the Space Law next. I won't do it in separate sessions this time!'
This time, Li Yang chose to spend a whole month in the Space Law Inheritance Palace, using up three of his opportunities for an uninterrupted session.
Next came the Fire Element Law, and even the Time Law...
In the blink of an eye, four months had passed.
...
SWOOSH!
Outside the Inheritance Palaces, Li Yang's figure appeared.
'It's over.' Li Yang stood quietly, a slight smile playing on his lips as he gazed at the rows of Inheritance Palaces before him.
'Four months. I've finally digested most of it.'
Li Yang's heart filled with pleasure as he thought about his gains from the past four months.
'As expected of our Human Race's Inheritance Palaces!'
In these four months, his Four-Element Laws—Space, Time, Fire Element, and Thunder—had all improved significantly! His overall strength had even increased by ten to twenty percent!
One had to understand how powerful Li Yang was now. The stronger one became, the harder it was to improve!
He clenched his right fist, feeling an immense power coursing through him.
This power had reached an astonishing level!
'Right now, without using Divine Artifacts and just relying on my other trump cards, I should be a match for an ordinary Deity, right?'
Besides his comprehension of the Laws, Li Yang was also refining Dragon Scale Insects and using Evil Qi Crystal Stones to cultivate his Evil Qi domain. When factoring in the power boost from the Dragon Scale Insects and the Evil Qi Crystal Stones, his overall strength had actually reached the Divine Realm!
But then he looked at his wrist device.
'I started with twenty-eight opportunities. For the Four-Element Laws, I used three chances for each, leaving me with sixteen.' Li Yang shook his head with a sigh.
Over twenty opportunities was a lot, more than other geniuses might ever use. But he had just used up nearly half of them in one go.
This was the downside of comprehending multiple Laws at once.
However, when he thought about his gains, Li Yang was filled with joy. It was all worth it.
After all, since leaving the Sacred Palace, his Time Divine Tree had been born, he had spent three years in the Star Moon Race's inheritance ground, and he had visited the Thunder Spirit Race...
Even if he had stayed in the Sacred Palace for a hundred years as a Longevity Realm expert, his progress probably wouldn't have matched what he'd achieved in the last ten-odd years.
Such immense progress naturally came with numerous insights, and now, he had finally digested them all!
