After work, everyone headed to Fish Water Restaurant, and Peter Brown only then realized that apart from himself, there were several other lower-level cadres who had been promoted. At this meeting, Vincent Clinton had clearly reached some kind of agreement with Henry Ford, with many of Henry’s nominations receiving Vincent’s support. At the same time, Vincent also reaped plenty of benefits. The only one who missed out was Christian Greenhill.

Peter didn’t know exactly what had happened, he just saw that everyone seemed happy.

Peter and Reid Nelson arrived at the restaurant first and took care of the food preparations.

Seeing that no one else was around, Reid said, "Peter, go ahead and order the dishes, don’t worry about paying today. With so many people getting promoted, the company will take care of it."

"It’s fine."

"It’s not fine to say that. If you were to treat everyone, it might actually upset some people. Sometimes, satisfying people isn’t just about spending money. Leave it this time, I’ll handle it. You just need to take care of everyone. You’re starting to become a leading cadre now, you need to learn to do certain things."

"Reid, I’ll just follow your lead no matter the situation."

Looking at Peter, Reid sighed and said, "Edward Ford really has no complaints about you."

Peter’s heart was clear as a mirror; if it were not for what he had done that was beneficial to Henry, why would Henry care about him? Of course, this was something Peter would never say out loud.

"Peter, things are getting complicated, and I’m starting to not understand them. Today seemed a bit rushed, as if Edward was trying to place his people as much as possible, so much so that he even made some agreement with Vincent!"

True to being a person with sharp observational skills, Reid immediately noticed some of the underlying issues.
