Chapter 708: This is the County Town
Although there were no city walls or any similar protective constructions, at first glance, Peter Brown was clearly able to identify it as a city. Moreover, it was a city that was meticulously guarded.
Seeing the astonishment on Peter’s face, Levi West burst out laughing, "Never seen anything like this, have you?"
"Yeah, it’s surprising to see a city without any defensive walls."
Levi chuckled, "Think about it. What kind of place is the Cultivation World? It’s where those who soar high and low dwell. What use would the city wall serve? Surely, you don’t think the cultivators can’t get into the city?"
Peter pondered for a moment and found it logical. Clearly, his understanding was influenced by the mortal cities on Earth. Obviously, cultivators could fly, they could easily get into a city, irrespective of how high the city wall is.
Levi continued, "Cities in the Cultivation World certainly have their defenses, and also strict regulations. The entire city is protected by a formation. Once the formation is activated, unless you are entering or leaving through one of the specially designated four city gates, if you attempt to enter or exit anywhere else, you would have to endure an attack from the formation. And mind you, this is not any average formation. Unless you have reached a very advanced level in your cultivation, you shouldn’t think about freely entering or leaving."
Peter nodded, now understanding a bit more about the cities in the Cultivation World.
Levi led Peter towards a place that looked like a portal. Once there, Peter noticed that there were no gatekeepers. Levi took out an identification card and placed it in a place that looked like an identity check point, then stepped across.
"Mr. Brown, just verify your identity card, then you can enter."
Hearing Levi’s instructions, Peter took out his identity card and placed it in the allotted place.
As suspected, Peter saw a green light flash on his identity card and then, as he stepped forward, he found that he could indeed enter the city.
