Chapter 223: Offending Someone
Surprisingly, Peter Brown became the center of attention. With a wry smile, he said, "I’m sorry, but I really don’t know about Bright Rise Group."
Peter was telling the truth. He might have known about the wealthiest man in the province, Javier Carter of the Luca Clan, but he genuinely didn’t know about the Bright Rise Group.
While Peter was telling the truth, Mason Reed, who was in the middle of bragging, didn’t appreciate his remark. Mason brought up his father and the Bright Rise Group to impress the attractive teacher and let the female students know he was a second-generation rich. His plan was to flirt with girls at school.
As he was bragging, someone claimed they didn’t know about the Bright Rise Group. To Mason, it seemed like a deliberate attempt to embarrass him. This was an attack on him!
Mason couldn’t think about anything else. In his mind, Peter intended to make him look bad, which was unbearable.
"You said you don’t know about the Bright Rise Group?" Mason couldn’t help asking loudly in front of the class.
Reluctantly, Peter nodded. "I really don’t know."
"Fine! Good!"
Mason glared at Peter angrily.
It was clear that Peter had offended Mason.
So far, Peter couldn’t figure out how a single statement had offended someone. He wasn’t afraid of Mason, though.
