Chapter 466 - 464: Acquiring a Treasure
Su Qing’s eyelids twitched.
"Don’t come any closer."
Su Qing was also startled.
Bai Di immediately moved to protect Zhu Yuan and Yu Hu.
Yu Hu and Zhu Yuan had never seen the White Cloak before.
Only Bai Di and Su Qing had.
Bai Di’s expression grew serious.
Su Qing, however, began to communicate with it. "Why are you attached to me?"
"Get off."
Su Qing was definitely startled.
His originally good mood vanished the moment he saw the White Cloak. His heart leaped into his throat.
It couldn’t be helped. The White Cloak’s Rule-based Ability was truly terrifying.
He had been trapped in the Void Realm.
If Su Qing’s Synthesizer hadn’t created a Rule-based Ability to counter the Void Realm, Su Qing would have had to live in the Void Realm for the rest of his life.
Only a Rule can counter a Rule.
Su Qing had no desire to be dragged back into the Void Realm.
But the White Cloak transmitted a message in the language of a powerful nation from one of the planets.
The meaning was roughly: "You are my master now. I will follow you."
Hearing this, Su Qing was momentarily stunned. Then, his eyes lit up as he activated the power of the Void Realm.
And just like that, Su Qing vanished.
"Su Qing!" Bai Di saw Su Qing suddenly disappear.
He cried out, unable to remain calm.
’If Su Qing ended up in that world because he saved me, then it would have been better if he hadn’t. I would rather have lived on in solitude.’
Bai Di’s intense emotions affected Zhu Yuan and Yu Hu.
They too found it difficult to stay calm.
"Bai Di, what’s going on?" Zhu Yuan had just started to ask.
When Su Qing reappeared, smiling sheepishly. "Bai Di, don’t worry."
Su Qing had reappeared before Bai Di without any warning.
The sight made Bai Di let out a sigh of relief.
"You scared me to death. What’s going on?"
"This Cloak has acknowledged me as its master."
"Acknowledged you as its master?"
"There’s such a thing as good luck like this?" Bai Di’s eyes went wide as he stared with immense envy at Su Qing and the White Cloak draped over him.
It made Bai Di incredibly envious.
He knew full well what this Cloak was capable of.
"I don’t know what happened either," Su Qing said, just as puzzled. "I was on guard against it when we left, but it somehow appeared on me without me noticing."
The two of them were speaking in riddles.
Zhu Yuan and Yu Hu were completely baffled listening to them.
"What are you two talking about?"
"Well, you know how I had to save Bai Di?"
"And then..."
Su Qing explained the situation to Zhu Yuan and Yu Hu, with Bai Di chiming in from the side.
Only then did Zhu Yuan and Yu Hu understand what had happened.
"Doesn’t that mean this White Cloak is an incredibly powerful Dao Artifact?" Zhu Yuan suddenly exclaimed.
She looked at Su Qing’s White Cloak with envy.
Yu Hu was the same. "Is this what they call opportunity? It’s truly enviable."
"But look, the abyss here seems to be slowly disappearing."
Yu Hu pointed out.
Su Qing couldn’t help but look over.
It was true.
The black hole seemed to be gradually shrinking.
"Could it be that the White Cloak’s departure is causing this Secret Realm to disappear?" Bai Di mused.
Su Qing had the same suspicion.
It was the most likely explanation.
"We’ll know if we watch from here."
"We’re not in a rush anyway." Su Qing observed from a distance.
Bai Di also leaned in for a closer look.
The abyss dissipated quickly.
In just a few hours, a certain planet was revealed.
"It’s that planet!" Yu Hu shouted.
"I can’t believe it’s still there."
"I thought that if the Secret Realm collapsed, the planet inside would cease to exist too." Su Qing’s tone was flat.
But some truths were even more ruthless than his words.
Zhu Yuan sensed Su Qing’s pessimism. "Do you have to think of the worst-case scenario? You got the White Cloak, and now you’re thinking the planet is gone."
Su Qing shrugged, a nonchalant look on his face. "The truth is, a world could be dying at any given moment."
"If this planet were to perish, it would just mean we witnessed that fact firsthand."
After all, Su Qing himself had appeared in the Star Sea because the Spirit Realm had perished.
He had just been one of the ones who survived.
Most of the living beings in the Spirit Realm were gone.
Even among the various races, those that weren’t dead or reincarnated had been completely devoured by the Greed Realm.
Bai Di laughed. "Let’s go. To think the little things I was trying to catch were actually created by this Cloak."
Bai Di was exasperated.
At first, he had discovered that these little things would disappear for no reason.
He wondered if it was because their Spatial Power was pushed to the extreme, making them invisible to him.
But later, trying to catch one proved to be incredibly difficult.
He never expected to be ambushed.
Only at the end did he realize it was a treasure.
Now, that treasure was on Su Qing and hadn’t come off.
Su Qing didn’t mind.
"Let’s go. Time to head back to the Taichu Daoist Palace." Su Qing’s tone lightened.
’This is the Cloak’s limitation. It can’t be synthesized. That means one day, I’ll have to discard it. It has no potential for growth.’
It wasn’t that Su Qing didn’t want to take it off.
Rather, the Cloak would drape itself over him on its own.
The four of them boarded Bai Di’s Flying Shuttle.
"Finally, we can get some rest."
"Just set the destination for the Taichu Daoist Palace. The Flying Shuttle can get there anyway."
Bai Di said with a happy laugh.
Yu Hu, however, was busy taking pictures again.
Su Qing received a photo that included his own face.
In the picture, the four of them were framed together, with Yu Hu wearing a brilliant smile.
But Su Qing was silently looking at his own image.
Then, a Water Mirror appeared in his hand.
Zhu Yuan, Bai Di, and Yu Hu all found this amusing.
Who would’ve thought Su Qing liked looking in the mirror?
But that wasn’t it.
Su Qing was checking for the Flame Mark between his eyebrows.
In the photo, Su Qing’s Flame Mark was gone.
In the Water Mirror, the Flame Mark between Su Qing’s eyebrows had also vanished.
This left Su Qing feeling puzzled.
’Could the White Cloak have done this?’
As Su Qing was carefully examining the space between his brows,
Zhu Yuan suddenly said in surprise, "Oh, so you noticed the mark between your eyebrows disappeared?"
"No wonder..."
"I thought you were just fixing your appearance."
Su Qing laughed. "Do I look like I have the time for that?"
Indeed, Su Qing had no time for such things. He would rather spend his time eating a few more Standardized leaves.
"Still, the disappearance of this mark gives me a bad feeling."
Su Qing couldn’t help but speculate. He knew who had placed this mark on him.
’Now the mark is gone. It would be fine if Black Abyss didn’t recognize me. But honestly, Black Abyss didn’t act like it didn’t know me. And with a face so similar to Su Hongshang...’
Su Qing felt a little scared.
’Maybe I just shouldn’t go back to the Taichu Daoist Palace. I could just hide in a small corner and slowly build up my strength, right?’
Although he thought this, Su Qing didn’t make any move.
Bai Di clapped Su Qing on the shoulder. "What are you thinking about?"
"Come on, let’s play some games. I didn’t get to have my fill last time."
"I have to make up for it this time."
"Of course," Su Qing said with a laugh.
Wasting a little time didn’t matter.
Besides, Su Qing liked this feeling.
His Great Dao Cultivation Method was only increasing his Skill Level by a tiny amount right now, anyway.
If he were to truly slack off, it would probably take a dozen or so Star Sea Eras for his Skill Level to reach Perfection.
Su Qing wasn’t willing to wait that long.
But that didn’t mean Su Qing couldn’t have a little fun.
The four of them entered the game pods.
Su Qing suppressed his power.
Bai Di saw Zhu Yuan and Yu Hu each release an ordinary clone.
He couldn’t help but ask, "What are you two doing?"
"To have more fun playing the game," Zhu Yuan said proudly.
"You should do it too. Send an ordinary clone into the game pod. It’s more fun that way."
...
