Chapter 457 - 229: River of Blood and Death God’s Blood
The core of the Thunder Elemental Plane.
Deafening thunder echoed high overhead as more than forty Thunder God Golems and two Thunder Elemental Giant Spirits clashed in a chaotic melee, their battle unleashing blinding, incessant flashes of lightning.
A thousand meters away, protected by over a dozen Thunder God Golems, Pei Ze sat motionless on the ground, cross-legged, absorbing Thunder Elemental Energy as if he were the only one there.
Vast amounts of Thunder Elemental Energy converged on him like a tide, rushing to pour into his body and slowly but surely transforming every inch of his being.
After an unknown amount of time, the tide of energy suddenly stalled before slowly dissipating.
Pei Ze opened his eyes, and a flash of lightning seemed to flicker within their depths, causing the very space around him to tremble.
"Omniscience, report my current status."
[Elementalization (Thunder): 92.23%]
[Elemental Origin: 92.23]
’I’ve reached the limit.’
Pei Ze sighed softly.
He had spent nearly half a year in the Thunder Elemental Plane. Aside from a trip back to Chenxi City to handle golem orders, he had invested most of his time and energy into his training.
Now, consuming a wisp of the Power of Rules only increased his elementalization by 0.4% to 0.5%.
At this point, its efficiency was no different from his regular training.
The method of leveraging the high density of Thunder Elemental Energy to boost his elementalization had, from this moment on, become essentially ineffective.
’Less than eight percentage points to go.’
With a glint in his eyes, Pei Ze extended an open palm. A flash of light revealed an exquisite potion vial that had materialized out of thin air.
A brilliant golden light shone from within; it contained two drops of golden blood.
The Divine Blood of the Lord of Thunder!
This was the reward he had earned for his contributions in the god-slaying battle.
Pei Ze had received the Divine Blood from Mo Weng over four months ago.
However, to maximize its effects, he had kept it in reserve and refrained from using it.
After all, consuming the Divine Blood too early would have only caused the high-energy-density training method to lose its effectiveness sooner.
But now that the method was no longer effective, it was time to consume the Divine Blood.
The two drops of Divine Blood had long been purified, completely purged of the consciousness they once contained.
Pei Ze uncorked the vial. With an inhale, the two drops of Divine Blood shot into his mouth.
The next instant, an impossibly vast and majestic power erupted. After circulating once through Pei Ze’s body, it surged frantically toward his head as if it had found its target.
Deep within his Sea of Consciousness, the incandescent Elemental Fire flared violently. The brilliant flames raged, mercilessly devouring the surging Thunder Elemental Energy.
Drawing on his past experience, Pei Ze was well-prepared. He focused his Spirit to control the influx of Thunder Elemental Energy, making sure it didn’t flow too quickly so that the Elemental Fire could fully absorb it.
The entire process lasted for several hours.
Suddenly, the flow of Thunder Elemental Energy faltered, then slowly diminished until it vanished without a trace.
Pei Ze focused his senses for a moment, feeling slightly disappointed.
This time, the Divine Blood hadn’t brought him any incredibly valuable memories like the last.
Or perhaps what he had received before was already the most valuable part of the memories contained within the Divine Blood.
This time, the Divine Blood had given him more general knowledge and observations, mainly concerning Hell and the Abyss.
’It seems this Lord of Thunder did quite a bit of research on these two outer planes.’
Pei Ze shook his head and summoned the Eye of Omniscience.
[Elementalization (Thunder): 98.48%]
[Elemental Origin: 98.48]
The two drops of Divine Blood had only increased his elementalization by a little over 6%, which couldn’t compare to the boost he’d received from a single drop previously.
This was to be expected, however. Past the 90% mark, every bit of progress in elementalization was extremely difficult to achieve.
Gaining around 6% from two drops of Divine Blood was already quite impressive.
’That leaves less than two percentage points to go.’
Pei Ze let out a long breath and rose to his feet. With a flick of his finger, a streak of blindingly brilliant white lightning shot out, instantly crossing a thousand meters to pierce the body of a Thunder Elemental Giant Spirit.
The latter’s massive body froze abruptly, then began to disintegrate from the head down, vanishing into thin air in the blink of an eye.
Pei Ze’s power was now great enough to completely overwhelm a typical Thunder Elemental Giant Spirit.
To put it simply, the tier of Thunder Elemental Energy he commanded far surpassed that of a normal Thunder Elemental Giant Spirit.
When dealing with the same type of power, a higher tier naturally crushes a lower one—a crushing so complete there is no room for resistance.
With Pei Ze’s current strength, dealing with an ordinary fourth-rank Thunder Elemental Giant Spirit was almost laughably easy.
After using the same technique to dispatch the other Thunder Elemental Giant Spirit, Pei Ze led his Thunder God Golems out of the Thunder Elemental Plane.
Upon returning to the Wizard Tower, Pei Ze went straight to the Element Pool on the first floor. After a full day of quiet cultivation, he found his elementalization had increased by less than 0.01%.
’As expected. The closer I get to 100%, the slower my elementalization progresses.’
Pei Ze shook his head.
Fortunately, he was only a little bit away from achieving complete elementalization.
Even at his current rate of training, he would reach 100% in six or seven months at most.
Leaving the first floor, Pei Ze went to the Golem Factory.
These days, the liveliest place in the entire Wizard Tower, aside from the Ancient Tree Courtyard, was the Golem Factory.
The spacious hall contained over a hundred workbenches, each one holding a different golem part.
Alchemy Hands, forged from enchanted metal, crisscrossed over the workbenches, manufacturing and assembling parts with speed and precision.
Wide aisles separated the workbenches, and swarms of Clay Golems bustled through them carrying heavy loads, all working faithfully and diligently.
And controlling all of this from behind the scenes was Tower Spirit No. 3.
Over the past six months, Wizards had been approaching Pei Ze one after another to purchase Thunder God Golems.
It was safe to say that ever since his return from the Dark Territory, the Golem Factory had barely had a moment’s rest.
