The mining district of Celestial Wolf City was clearly where they mined this world’s mineral resources. The ability to mine these resources implied that Celestial Wolf City could already utilize minerals, and the resulting industries were likely quite well-established.

Either way, there was no reason to let them live!

’If they were lost, it means they’re unsophisticated, with no powerful backing. They’re probably just some countryside members of the Demon Race. What are they worth?’

’And if they had ulterior motives—like wanting to steal ore—then there was even less reason to show them any courtesy.’ Without another word, he swiped a claw at them, sending a shockwave through the air!

The Nine-tailed Fox raised a delicate hand, a cold glint in her eyes, as if she were the high moon gazing down upon the insects of the mortal realm. "Tsk."

With a casual wave, the force of his attack dissipated, like a cloud striking the surface of the water without making a single ripple. The sight left the opposing Werewolf completely stunned.

He might have been arrogant, but he wasn’t inexperienced. On the contrary, he was quite worldly, having been born in Celestial Wolf City. And it was precisely because of his experience that he could now grasp just how terrifying the Nine-tailed Fox’s maneuver was.

On the surface, it appeared he had launched an attack that the Nine-tailed Fox casually waved away. In truth, however, very few in Celestial Wolf City could master such advanced long-range attacks. He, on the other hand, was of the Celestial Wolf Race’s bloodline and had access to a remarkable Secret Technique. That last strike had been infused with his cultivation method, making it immensely powerful!

He had once used that very strike to instantly kill a being above the Spirit Control Realm. ’And now, this Nine-tailed Fox blocked it so casually?’

With utter nonchalance, his entire attack had been neutralized!

Most importantly, he hadn’t even felt it happen, meaning his attack had been nullified in an instant.

’Even a powerful member of the Demon Race from the Transformation Realm, a being at the Ancestor level, shouldn’t be able to diffuse my attack that easily!’

The Werewolf stood frozen. He took two steps back. Seeing that the newcomers were hostile, he prepared to summon his kinsmen—or even call for a more powerful member of the Demon Race. But things did not go his way. The Nine-tailed Fox shot him a cold glare, and his head tumbled from his shoulders.

"Master, I sensed he was trying to contact Celestial Wolf City, so I went ahead and killed him."

The Nine-tailed Fox bowed slightly, and Jiang Qiu nodded. "I felt it. He was sending a signal in that direction. In that case, let’s head that way."

He could, of course, easily perceive changes in his surroundings. Though he couldn’t see great distances, he was perfectly aware of any fluctuations in the air within a certain radius. His sensitivity to the Heaven and Earth Spirit Charm was always acute, and no disturbance could escape his notice.

For that very reason, Celestial Wolf City was bound to be a place teeming with wildness. Even if it had developed some industries, perhaps even making progress in some unexpected areas, it was inevitably barbaric and disorderly at its core.

At this thought, Jiang Qiu glanced to the side. The rhythmic clanging sound was still coming from that direction. Before, he hadn’t known its source, but now that the Werewolf had mentioned a mining district, there was no doubt: it was the sound of someone striking ore.
