Chapter 20
Chapter 20: Third Time’s the Charm~
***
On the flying sword, Lin Muyu gently held Su Wanqing’s slender waist, her face ashen.
She never would have thought that the unreliable master she just acknowledged would turn out to be Su Wanqing’s master.
Wouldn’t that mean her plan to stay away from the male and female leads and develop cautiously was completely ruined?
Such bad luck… Hmm? The female lead’s waist is really slender…
Realizing her attention had wandered, Lin Muyu quickly shook her head, driving away the improper thoughts.
She was holding Su Wanqing’s waist to prevent falling off, not to embrace her soft, slender waist.
It’s just that the gardenia scent suddenly wafting from Su Wanqing’s body made her lose focus again.
To say she had no feelings for Su Wanqing would be impossible.
After all, the two had already had intimate contact twice. Although it was painful each time, she was still the first person to have such contact with her.
She had been single her entire previous life, which meant this was her first time across both lifetimes.
And Lin Muyu originally liked girls anyway, not to mention someone as particularly beautiful and excellent as Su Wanqing.
However, she was very clear that her primary task was to survive, lay low, then avenge the villagers, and find a way back to her original world.
Not to fall in love.
She was a very rational person and wouldn’t easily be bound by emotions, so even if she had feelings for Su Wanqing, it would be impossible for them to be together.
Moreover, every time she got close to the male and female leads, she would become extremely unlucky, though she didn’t know why.
Now she had to live under the same roof as the female lead, who knows what unlucky things would happen.
Lin Muyu could only take things one step at a time.
The flying sword landed smoothly, and Su Wanqing still spoke in that cool tone: “We’re here.”
“Oh, oh.” Lin Muyu, who had been lost in thought, quickly came back to her senses, released her hands that were tightly embracing the slender waist, and carefully jumped down from the flying sword.
“!”
Unlike the mountain peak Lin Muyu had imagined, Jade Lotus Peak was actually a giant lotus flower, and their current location…
Was on a huge jade lotus leaf, with a simple wooden hut on the leaf that looked like Su Wanqing’s usual dwelling.
Above the lotus leaf, there was also a lotus flower blooming from the clouds, radiating seven-colored light.
Below the lotus leaf was a lake that seemed endless to the eye.
They were on a lotus leaf above a lake.
Jade Lotus Peak truly lived up to its name!
Lin Muyu was stunned. This was truly something from the immortal realm, so magical to use a lotus flower as a mountain.
“Stop spacing out, your room is up ahead.”
Su Wanqing simply stamped her foot lightly, and the lotus leaf in front of them suddenly moved, creating another identical hut next to the existing one.
“So amazing!” She couldn’t help but exclaim. The cultivation world indeed had many magical things she had never seen before.
But Lin Muyu suddenly seemed to think of something and asked puzzledly:
“There are only two small huts, where does our master live?”
Upon hearing this, Su Wanqing immediately frowned, speaking without courtesy:
“That woman loves to lie on top of that lotus flower drinking and sleeping, never around and doesn’t need a room at all.”
From Su Wanqing’s words, it was clear that even Su Wanqing couldn’t help but complain about this unreliable master.
Su Wanqing suddenly clenched her fists, speaking in a somewhat strange tone: “You should sleep here tonight and go to class tomorrow.”
Then she walked into her own hut without looking back and tightly closed the door.
“Class?” Lin Muyu didn’t notice Su Wanqing’s strange behavior and instead focused entirely on the mention of class.
Cultivation required classes too?
Only then did Lin Muyu notice that the sky seemed to have suddenly darkened. After leaving that plaza, there seemed to be no backup light sources.
By the time they reached Jade Lotus Peak, it had completely darkened. The light from that lotus flower had prevented Lin Muyu from noticing it was getting dark.
For cultivators, day and night were the same, they could cultivate at any time.
But for newcomers who had just started on the path of cultivation, sleep was still important.
However, Lin Muyu touched her shrunken stomach.
She seemed to have not eaten for a very long time, surviving entirely on that warm light she received after entering the sect.
Now, the energy from that warm light had been mostly consumed, and she once again felt dizzy and lightheaded.
Only this time it was from hunger.
Lin Muyu entered the room Su Wanqing had prepared for her and looked around to see if Su Wanqing had thoughtfully prepared food for her.
But obviously, Su Wanqing, who had long achieved spiritual sustenance, hadn’t considered this point.
The room was extremely simple, containing only a wooden bed, a wooden table, and a wooden chair, though the wood was clearly of exceptional quality.
But that wasn’t the point. The point was that aside from wood, there was nothing else in this room!
It was even simpler than her previous room!
“?”
Was this a room for people to live in?
A big question mark appeared above Lin Muyu’s small head.
Could it be that Su Wanqing’s room was like this too?
Having no choice, Lin Muyu had to go out to find food. After all, she apparently had class tomorrow?
She couldn’t go to class hungry, could she?
Besides, she couldn’t sleep while hungry either.
But when she stepped outside and saw this vast lotus leaf and the endless lake below, she dismissed the idea of going out to find food.
With her current strength, without Su Wanqing, she couldn’t get out at all…
“Can I only ask Su Wanqing for help? But I haven’t even repaid the previous favors, and now I have to ask her again…”
Although she felt somewhat embarrassed, there was no other way.
Lin Muyu knocked on Su Wanqing’s door with conflicted feelings but got no response at all.
So she shouted:
“Su Wanqing, are you there?”
But there was still no sound of Su Wanqing responding from behind the door.
“Maybe she’s not in?”
Lin Muyu pressed her ear against the door and could faintly hear several pained, soft moaning sounds.
“Something’s wrong.” Lin Muyu pondered. She had clearly seen Su Wanqing go in just now, so she couldn’t have gone out again, right?
And she could still hear strange sounds from behind the door.
“Could something have happened?!”
She quickly pushed open the door to see what was going on inside.
The wooden door wasn’t locked, and Lin Muyu easily pushed it open.
She saw Su Wanqing with her head lowered, her face completely obscured by her black hair.
Su Wanqing’s hands were tightly gripping her smooth thighs, her nails even cruelly piercing into them, causing several drops of crimson liquid to seep out.
Lin Muyu was immediately startled and hurried over to see what was happening.
Walking in front of Su Wanqing, she could see that her face seemed to be tinged with a familiar pink, and those cool eyes seemed to be alternating between seductive charm and pain.
“Oh no!”
Lin Muyu’s heart trembled. This scene was so familiar, hadn’t the same thing happened when she first rescued her?
And what happened next…
Lin Muyu seemed to think of something, quickly moved her feet, and immediately tried to flee.
Unexpectedly, a pair of hands with blood droplets on the fingertips suddenly grabbed her.
The difference in strength made it impossible for her to break free, and instead she was pulled back.
“Don’t go…”
The hoarse voice grabbed Lin Muyu’s heart like a demon, and a sense of despair quietly arose.
“I’m done for…”
