Adam got up from his seat and ran to the exit. Bel looked up as he left, but he told her to stay put.

After he went outside, he pulled the spell-tome into his hand and summoned the barrier. Then he used it to push himself through the streets towards the middle of Interim Island.

The sun was setting in the sky, and the town was dyed in orange-pink hues.
