Dungeon Landlord: Only I Can Merge Dungeons

Chapter 26: Mumu! Climb Up!

The moment Lucien stepped into the dungeon, darkness took over his vision, even darker than the slime cave before.

Lucien immediately tensed up and moved cautiously, but the feeling under his feet was not solid.

His body swayed slightly and Lucien hurriedly took a step forward to balance himself, only to feel a great resistance from his feet.

So sticky?

Lucien pulled his feet with all of his might and when his right foot finally landed to a new path—

It stepped on nothing.

!!

Lucien’s agility pushed him to quickly retracted his foot and stabilized himself on the swaying material underneath his body!

"Ha....ha..."

A cold sweat broke on Lucien’s back, his soul almost fainted with foams all over the mouth.

Ah! Fck! Fck! Fck! What the hell is wrong with this dungeon??

Sway. Sway.

Even when not moving, Lucien couldn’t stand still, his body still swayed slightly and the tremor travelled far, far away.

Somewhere in the distance, a few creatures sensed the tremor.

Dark green eyes lit up in the dark cave, a drop of saliva slid down their fangs.

Tremble. Tremble.

Sensing the continuous faint tremor, the creatures immediately followed to the direction of the tremor, their long, sharp-edged legs crawled quickly above the path as thin as one’s arms.

Tak. Tak. Tak.

The sound of their footsteps were so faint that not even an echo sounded in the silent cave,

While Lucien was adjusting his stance, Luren, who was right next to Lucien, gripped his staff and silently took something from one of his three iron robes hung around his waist.

A faint smell wafted from the tube as Luren smeared the unknown powder onto himself.

Only then did he sigh in relief but before he could hide behind Lucien, Lucien nudged his shoulders with his arms.

"Walk in front."

Heh. There’s no way I’ll let you backstab me or use me as a meat shield.

Luren’s face paled but a smug smile appeared in his mind.

"Me? B-but I— " Luren trembled, he hugged his staff tightly and his back bent, but Lucien ruthlessly pushed him to walk in front.

"Walk. Don’t waste my time."

Tsk. It’s because of this guy that he got roped into this mess.

Luren smiled bitterly, resigned to his fate and cautiously walked forward.

As they walked step by step at a speed comparable to a snail, something thin and sticky swept through Lucien and Luren’s face.

Lucien paused for a split second, took the thing cautiously and rubbed it with his fingers.

This feel...

It’s not as sticky or elastic as the ground, but it’s definitely...

A spider web.

Lucien had an ominous feeling.

What if the ground was actually...

While Lucien and Luren were walking forward blindly, the eyeball drone flew higher, the infra-red feature keenly captured the black and white figures of the two people— and the "ground" underneath.

The audiences, both ordinary people and awakeners, immediately realized.

[A Toxic Giant Spider dungeon?]

Before the audience could see more, the camera caught sight of a flashing black shadow.

[Wait, everyone! Did I see something moving just now?]

The eyeball drone blinked slowly and it captured the sight of a silent shadow creeping along another strong "threads" connected to the cave’s ceiling.

Tak. Tak. Tak.

The "threads" above trembled slightly as the creature moved past.

In just a few seconds, it was already right...above Lucien’s head.

The shadow as big as a golden retriever slowly bent its long legs and the audience immediately bombarded the comment section.

[Ahhh! Watch out!!]

But it was too late.

Swish!

Lucien only felt a faint gust of wind when his instinct screamed in horror.

He subconsciously turned his head to the left and—

A long, slender leg suddenly flashed right in front of Lucien.

The sharp, needle-like tip thrust straight into his neck!

Time seemed to slow down.

The tip was so close, just inches away from his eyes that Lucien could see the fine, sharp steel-like hair all over the legs.

The needle-like tip glinted in the dark but a split second before it touched Lucien’s neck—

The man twisted his body to the right and the sharp tip grazed past his neck, drawing a line of blood.

"Ugh!"

A stinging pain stabbed Lucien’s neck and the area around quickly numbed, only giving a faint throb.

Lucien’s body staggered to the right side, his right foot stepping down—

And touch nothing.

!

Lucien felt a split weightlessness and his body plummeted with a sharp drop!

"My lord!!" Luren, who was poking the spider on the web with his staff, almost screamed his soul out.

Ah fck!!! His witness!!

He only saw Lucien’s figure disappearing beyond the faint white edge until a split second later—

An arm pooped up and slammed over the swaying ground, the fingers clawed through the sticky surface, blue veins throbbed all over the skin.

"Fck! Fck! Fck!"

Lucien’s inner soul had already fainted with an angel halo above his head while his face flushed deep red, veins popped up on his forehead.

Just a split second before he fell, Lucien’s left arm gripped the swaying ground and his right hand held the box tightly, but he could feel his entire arm turning numb, way faster than it should be!

"Mu...mu!"

Lucien tried to pull his body up as he whispered to the slime trembling inside the broken box.

"Climb out! Now!"

He needed both hands, he had to throw away the box!

"M-mu! Muuu!"

Uncle, don’t drop Mumu. Mumu is scared!

The trembling slime cub drooled over the box’s lid and once it was corroded a bit, the slime immediately slipped out of the thin gap.

The moment Mumu came out of the box and landed on Lucien’s wrist—

Lucien’s grip over the box loosened.

Swoosh!

The box instantly plummeted down, but...

Shaaa shaaa shaaa

Lucien couldn’t hear the sound of something falling until a few seconds later.

Clank.

The sound echoed far and wide but Lucien’s eyes were fixed on the great darkness beneath him, his body swayed precariously.

What...what the....

The sound that arrived far too late, the swaying ground...

The eyeball drone zoomed out and the audience immediately saw the aerial view of a large spider web hanging from a cave’s wall from one side to another side.

Beneath the complex spider web— there was nothing.

It was a chasm so wide you couldn’t see the end, so deep you couldn’t gauge the depth!

"Mumu, don’t be afraid. Come...come to my shoulders."

Lucien’s teeth chattered as Mumu slowly climbed his arm, all the way to his shoulder.

"Mu...mu!"

QAQ Mumu is scared! Uncle!!

"I-it’s okay, it’s okay..."

Lucien’s other hand trembled as he quickly grasped onto the swaying web.

His knuckles turned red and pale white, the tip of his fingers were already so numb that he almost couldn’t feel anything.

Fck. Something is wrong.
