The Billionaire's Heir I Never Knew Was Mine

Chapter 124: Everything Will Be Fine

Sienna turned her attention back toward the lawyer. The man remained perfectly calm, watching her carefully over his glasses. His expression carried the confidence of someone who already believed he had won.

His confidence irritated her even more. Sienna inhaled slowly before finally reaching for the file.

As soon as she reread the file, her blood pressure shot up to a dangerous level again.

’Benjamin Foster! You fucking bastard...!’ She couldn’t help but curse him.

Her grip tightened slightly on the paper. She couldn’t believe Benjamin was not only asking her to sign an agreement refusing to pursue future legal action against him—he was also demanding that she sign marriage papers.

’Benjamin... are you completely out of your mind?’ She took a deep breath before continuing to vent her anger in her mind. ’Who in the world would use sexual harassment as a marriage proposal? That man was clearly a true narcissistic psychopath.’

She swallowed hard, forcing herself to calm down before she said something reckless in front of the lawyer and the police officer.

After several long seconds, Sienna finally closed the file carefully and lifted her gaze toward the lawyer again.

"Thank you for the offer."

Her voice sounded surprisingly steady despite the storm inside her chest.

"But before I decide anything, I need to speak with my lawyer."

The moment those words left her mouth, even Sienna herself almost felt ridiculous because she did not have a lawyer.

Nobody had answered her calls. Ava was unreachable. Riley’s phone was inactive. Mia never picked up. And she had been too ashamed to call Zachary.

Still, she forced herself to maintain a calm expression.

The lawyer’s eyebrows lifted slightly in surprise. Clearly, he had not expected resistance from a woman sitting alone in a police interrogation room at such a late hour.

"Miss Adams," he said carefully, adjusting his glasses, "I suggest you think about this rationally."

Sienna said nothing.

The lawyer cleared his throat before continuing.

"If you reject this offer, the consequences for you may be very serious. You will lose your job and remain in jail for a long time. Your reputation will be destroyed."

His tone remained polite. But the warning beneath his words became more direct.

Sienna slowly lowered her gaze back to the table. She clearly understood that the lawyer’s statement was true.

Part of her wanted to give up. She felt exhausted, her body ached, and her mind was tired. Fear had been crushing her nonstop since she had hit Benjamin in the head.

If signing those papers meant escaping this room that night... if it meant ending this nightmare... maybe she should just do it. Because she knew fighting with a narcissistic man like Benjamin was useless. After all, the CCTV footage was gone, and nobody believed her.

However, another part of her still stubbornly refused to surrender. Because she knew she was innocent. She knew Benjamin had attacked her first. She knew she had only defended herself.

And no matter how frightened she felt at that moment, another part of her still refused to let Benjamin win so easily.

’Foolish girl! Why would you even consider accepting that? You have to refuse it immediately!’

Before Sienna could respond, the lawyer spoke again.

"Miss Sienna, believe me, if this case proceeds to court," he said calmly, "you will most likely lose."

Sienna’s chest tightened.

The lawyer slowly took a pen from his pocket and placed it neatly on top of the file.

"There is no evidence to support your statement," he continued confidently. "You know that, don’t you?"

Sienna stared at the pen in silence. Her fingers trembled beneath the table. She pressed both hands harder against her thighs, desperately trying to stop herself from reaching for it.

’Don’t do it. Don’t sign it!’

But exhaustion weakened her. And right then, she was terrified she might finally break.

The room fell silent again.

But then—

Suddenly, the interrogation room door opened.

The sound startled everyone immediately.

Both the police officer and the lawyer turned toward the entrance at the same time.

’Hope?’

The word appeared quietly inside Sienna’s exhausted mind the moment the interrogation room door opened wider.

Her tired eyes immediately lifted toward the entrance.

Another police officer entered first, but what caught her attention was the man walking behind him.

He was dressed neatly in a dark suit, carrying a leather briefcase in one hand. Unlike Benjamin’s lawyer, whose smile felt cold and calculating, this man looked calm and relaxed, and the self-assurance radiating from him was strangely reassuring and friendly.

Sienna’s heartbeat instantly quickened.

’A lawyer...!? This man was my lawyer, right?’ she thought immediately. ’Did Ava or Riley send this man to help me?’

Hope rushed into Sienna’s chest.

After hours of fear, loneliness, and pressure, that tiny bit of hope felt overwhelming. Her eyes slowly brimmed with tears again as she watched the man walk farther into the room.

Benjamin’s lawyer immediately frowned in confusion, and the police officer standing by the door looked equally surprised.

Meanwhile, the suited man continued walking calmly toward her. And before Sienna could even speak, he stepped directly beside her chair.

She lifted her head to meet his gaze. The man offered her a calm, professional smile.

"Miss Sienna Adams," he greeted politely. "I’m Aaron Powell, your lawyer."

For several seconds, Sienna simply stared at him blankly.

’Your lawyer.’ Those two words nearly made her cry on the spot. ’Thank God. Finally, someone was here for me.’

Aaron gently extended his hand toward her.

Sienna quickly raised her cold, trembling hand and accepted the handshake. His grip felt warm and reassuring, unlike the coldness that had surrounded her all night.

"Mr. Powell..." Sienna whispered weakly. She still could not fully believe it. "You finally came. Please, please help me—"

Before Sienna could finish her words, Aaron gave her a small, reassuring nod.

"No worries," he said calmly and casually. "Everything will be all right."

The warmth and confidence in his tone immediately eased something inside her.
