Chapter 201: The Marriage Certification Ceremony
Caster Town, Church Branch Office.
In a reception room, Leon and Father Auden sat on one side of a square table, while Viscount Arend and his daughter Adele sat opposite them. A Church notary sat at the side of the square table, with various materials spread across the table.
Adele was still intently staring at several documents in her hands, examining the clauses line by line. The other four people had already become idle, either resting their hands on the table or crossing their arms, all waiting for Adele to finish handling her own signature.
After quite some time, Father Auden sighed and could not help but speak, “Miss Adele, you have already been reading for a long time. We still have procedures to go through next. If possible, could you please consider everyone’s time a little?”
Marriage registration for ordinary people was still very convenient, but Viscount Arend could barely be considered a noble with a territory, while Leon was a formally appointed member holding a rank within the Church. This marriage also involved the inheritance and transfer of the title, so the procedures were numerous. Just completing the marriage registration alone had already kept them here for half a day.
“Wait a moment. Let me finish reading!” Adele continued without even raising her eyelids.
She was not deliberately wasting time. She was seriously checking whether there were any problems with the clauses involving the transfer of the title.
After several rounds of discussion, she had ultimately agreed to Leon’s conditions and come here to register their marriage with him. After all, in reality, she had no other choice.
However, she still had to clearly examine the clauses. If Leon, Father Auden, and the Church notary had tampered with anything in the agreement, she could not expect anything from her foolish father, who was currently standing beside them with his arms crossed and feet raised, finally relieved that his debts had been resolved.
