The Novel's Draft

Chapter 127 - 173

Because he was so focused on the sword, he didn’t pay attention to his surroundings.

Despite us being the same person, because I’m heavily wounded, our circumstances are different.

He formulates strategies to use his perfect condition to use while I do the opposite.

While his eyes were closed from the splatter of blood, I pulled my arm back and spun the blade.

Widening my stance, I stabbed the sword through his chest.

"Sky severing thrust."

A hole appeared through his chest and my attack reached the clouds above.

When it did, something strange happened.

What looked to be water started pouring down.

So that’s how it is.

"Don’t get so distracted..." My copy opened his eyes, barely standing up, "Looks like I won’t be the only one dying."

Huh what does he mean–?

The blade of the fire hero’s sword crumbled, the sword held on for as long as it could.

Thank you... fire hero sword.

The ember that caressed my soul diminished.

Placing a hand over my shoulder, my copy smiled.

"My instigations failed, but it looks like you’ve won anyways..." Blood poured down the corner of his lips, "Promise me that when you leave, when you meet the author... make sure to make them pay."

He then collapsed, tumbling on my shoulder.

Touching my chest, he transferred his mana to me before rolling off my shoulder and harshly hitting the ground.

The symptoms of mana overflow seemed to subside.

Demons in this world don’t disappear into ashes which is a shame.

Looking at my dead corpse was a strange feeling.

There is no heaven or afterlife in this world because we’re in a novel, but even so I couldn’t help myself from clasping my hands and pray for him.

We were born from similar circumstances.

He had been created simply to challenge me while I was created to be just a character in a novel.

Falling to the ground, I looked up at the sky.

Turning my head, I watched Incus battle her own copy.

From the looks of it, she was almost finished.

Rushing over to my side, Acro started casting a healing barrier.

Pulling out the mana bracelet from my wrist, I gave it to him.

[Mana: 14/35]

There wasn’t much mana left inside it but it should suffice.

I would have filled it up with my own mana, but I’m not sure whether I would re-enter mana overflow.

"...Don’t push yourself." I told Acro.

Nodding, Acro continued to heal me as I watched Incus battle herself.

Widening both of their feet apart, they attacked with a sea of sword thrusts.

They both summoned the ice hero sword to increase the volume of the attack.

Taking out the dark hero sword, multiple swords made of ice were chained down by chains made of shadows.

But the shadows didn’t chain the fire sword in hand.

Both of their expressions were calm, both of their left eyes shook with intensity.

Their battle was going nowhere but their battle had been dragged on for a long time.

If my theory is correct then it should have already been a Chapter or two, meaning that the battle’s end is almost here.

I wonder how it’ll end.

Switching through the hero swords, wind blew throughout the crater.

Squinting my eyes, an explosion of heat shot out.

Covering themselves in a cloak of lightning, they remained in place, simply moving a few steps.

She must have deduced that running around wouldn’t improve anything just as I realised myself when I fought my clone.

Running around will just waste energy for both the runner and chaser.

Suddenly, a beam shot out at Incus.

The true one.

It was simple to distinguish who was the copy and who wasn’t.

The real Incus had a faint aura around her body, her hair was slightly levitating from the aura.

Staggering, real Incus was left open to an attack.

But before the copy’s blade reached her, a giant sword struck the ground that flew down from the sky.

That blade... I recognize it.

Another crash came from the sky, a dust of smoke spread out.

Waving the smoke away, the familiar figure of a bulky muscular man who wore a helmet stood.

Not only that but he had a faint aura around him, similar to Incus’.

"Sorry for the delay your highness, I came running here as soon as I could when the messenger told me about your campaign." The impossible man grabbed the giant hunk of steel that can be barely called a sword.

"Hah, don’t stress about it." Incus scoffed, "So how was your isolated training?"

The air around them shifted to a dark atmosphere where stacks of monsters towered.

In the middle of it all was Steinen who was completely naked aside from the helmet on his head.

The air returned to normal and Steinen nodded.

"It was alright." Steinen turned towards the false Incus, "She looks just like you, let’s finish this."

"Check status." I mumbled.

So he got boosted also.

I wonder what that unique skill of his does.

Focus on his unique skill, the skill’s description popped on in front of me:

[Makes any demons 20% weaker]

What an overpowered skill.

From the looks of it, it doesn’t have any requirements to use the skill.

It’s oddly fitting to Steinen.

It wasn’t as incredible compared to Incus but the physical boost should have been enough to make him stand his ground.

Steinen’s fighting style was still gruesome as back then, but when it came to assisting Incus’ battle it was top notch.

The sound of heavy metal pummeling on a smaller blade echoed.

Steinen raised the blade over his head.
