Infinite Evolution: Dominating The Apocalypse With My God Tier Items

Chapter 339: Awakened Rank Defiled’s

Corruption zones worked on a strict hierarchical system, and corrupted creatures were bound by this reality.

And that made it almost impossible for defiled to attack before mini-bosses, that was an unwritten but solid rule all corrupted followed.

Now for one to encounter defiled first didn’t mean there was an error, because they couldn’t be an error.

It just meant that defilers in this zone weren’t that high up the ladder...

"Boss, is there a problem?" An evolver asked Seth, on noticing his sudden tense demeanor.

Seth stared into the dark depths of the corruption-plagued woods, his eyes narrowing warily.

His hand hovering over his spear as he contemplated in his head, ’Am I hallucinating, or did I just feel someone scan me up?’ Seth thought in worry.

He could neither see nor detect any threat, but that didn’t deter Seth’s wariness.

These ordinary monkeys were already this hard to detect, how effective would the mini-boss of these monkeys be?

Seth was right on track: there were indeed a few higher-grade monkeys watching him in the dark.

But what he did mistake was their grade—the three beasts Seth eyed from the distance were all blood-hungry defiled.

They would be Seth’s very encounter with defiled, and they were sure to be a terrifying reminder to Seth why defiled were so feared.

In silence all huge hulking frames of the four-eyed monkeys dissipated into the darkness, the thick presence of corruption gathering around them dissipating into nothing.

And Seth still remained clueless, still pondering on the feeling he just felt a few seconds ago, worried something bigger had set its sights on them.

Seth turned to the soldier by his side, manning a leader-grade saber, "Be on guard."

The whispers low, but resounding through the ears of all present, Seth had a brief estimate of his physical capabilities.

Not enough to fully control his strength, but enough for him to be aware of how much to hold back around others, so as not to affect his allies.

Now he was moving with the soldiers in order for them to earn some kills and gain stats, something that most of them hadn’t done since their awakening.

Seth wasn’t in it for the kills anyway; after gathering enough corpses to craft him a robe or two, he started focusing more on leaving his foes at their last breaths so the soldiers could land killing blows and earn the kills.

Spears levitating around him, the group progressed with extra caution, still receiving the hordes with lethal ferocity.

While also being extra aware, it was in this state that Seth caught signs of movement from his peripheral vision.

But shockingly, he couldn’t lock down anything, almost as though his eyes were playing tricks on him.

His lips curled into an unsightly frown, visibly displeased, as he sensed movement from a direct parallel direction.

Seth’s head whipped towards it, but... still nothing!

Seth seemed to have realized what was happening; it seemed whoever was stalking them really had perfect stealth abilities.

Enough to hide it or them away from his sight, but Seth still remained confident—after all, with his strength and abilities, what did it matter that the foe was good at hiding?

The moment it made a mistake of initiating an attack, he would destroy them faster than they would retreat.

His spear hummed in response to his emotions, his expression sharpening as a flow of reddish aura trailed around the weapon, sparking with sanguine currents as Armageddon ran wild.

The soldiers behind Seth read his composure; he didn’t even have to say anything, they understood what was happening, their frames tensing.

Their grip around their origin weapons tightened as Seth’s essence ran thick in the air, the influence of Absolute Resonance taking hold of all their weapons.

Unleashing a wide-range, layered buff, the group grew completely silent.

Their ears perked up, calculating every flow of gale around them and tuning for every slightest crunch of sand.

Silently trying to pinpoint the location of the foe—well, that was only for a moment, until Seth sensed a shift in the air.

A faint, very transparent outline, only visible because it was so close.

His hips tensed, and his tendons thrummed, as his limbs burst into motion, summoning an enormous tide of force as he moved to engage the hulking transparent beast.

And just as he and the beast were about to clash, Seth’s eyes widened, his head whipping towards the side.

From nowhere two hulking-sized monkeys appeared, point-blank before the soldiers.

Charging punches, as they rampaged forward, plummeting their way into the human ranks, decimating everything in sight.

Though stronger, the humans realized facing these overpowering monsters led to only one conclusion: death!

Seth’s eyes widened, sensing the presence. "Defiled!" He hissed, his brows creasing in confusion.

This brief moment of distraction wasn’t taken lightly by his foe; a hulking frame materialized just as its punch was about to ram into Seth’s frame.

Billowing with a thick concentration of corrupted essence.

Seth’s head snapped instantly on impact, his vision going white then black, as his brain bounced against his skull in concussion.

His eyes rolled back before momentum rippled through his frame, sending him flying like a kite cut from its strings.

And while his frame was rolling in the atmosphere, cracks rippled through his bones, and his organs ruptured.

A tide of world essence flooded the corrupted space, spiraling around Seth’s frame, as his vitality sucked it all up in an instant.

A pulse of green swallowed him then faded as his body crashed into the earth, rolling in debris and dust.

Coughing, Seth crawled to his feet, his damaged body undergoing visibly fast regeneration.

With a faint glare of green sparkling from his solar plexus.

Red crackled as Seth’s spear multiplied, his heart racing and pumping his veins full of warm blood.

His eyes taking on a royal glare of purple, his silver hair billowing, as darkness gathered beside him.

Coalescing into two identical forms of Seth, beside them a grim bone essence sculpted from pure darkness hovered.

Seth’s lips moved across all avatars and main body in sync, "Let’s see how the capabilities of a silver human fare against a defiled."
