Chapter 371: Unconstrained Weight
Seth’s feet pushed against the earth with a sudden burst of strength enough to propel him backwards, the moment he moved a blur ripping through the wind like a projectile, narrowly scraping against his skin.
Leaving a thin trail of blood, as both parties zipped into motion continuously, his calves clenching with a grip of strength enough to crush a mountain, he caught himself abruptly and moved to lean forward.
His eyes glowing bright as he tracked the rapid and erratic movements of his foe, tearing through the wind crushing through the sound barrier like it was a thin sheet.
Seth got into the appropriate form and launched himself forward at a dazzling speed, we are talking a speed twice that of a pinnacle-level awakened, burning with an efficiency of a silver human.
Silver streaks were drawn in his wake, his blurry trail lining through the forest, moving so fast the roaming defileds couldn’t even react.
And right behind him keeping chase was an entity the size of a sports car, bristling with snowy white fur, a rabid sanguine glow coating its eyes, a pair of sharp ivory dagger-like teeth piercing out of its upper maw, upon its head sat a trio of horns gleaming within a crimson tinge as the monster ate through distance with its speed constantly elevating.
And the distance between it and Seth began to shorten...
Disbelief shot through Seth, resistant to the pressurized flow of wind, was this beast actually catching up to him?
It didn’t seem to make sense by any margin, Seth’s expression turned ugly.
He was a bonafide pinnacle stage awakened, not only that he had a dual class constitution which endowed him with twice the stat capacity of an average awakened.
Not only that he was a freaking silver human, the only one of his kind currently in existence even with a stat efficiency boost so ridiculous one might as well say that his race had a binding trait to all stats.
All these were margins in which one could gauge his abilities, yet somehow you’re telling him an entity summoned by a freaking shackled-grade evolver was CATCHING UP TO HIM?
Seth’s pupils flickered, directing his sight to the skies, he once again sensed the steady supply of providence onto the summon, he traced the trail that led him to the sight of the plasma being floating in the distance and he understood.
"To think that is what your ability is... Ridiculous!" he hissed in disdain, it all made sense now this girl her ability was quite complex yet simple to comprehend.
It seemed this evolver could momentarily enter a state of ultra-brain activity so wild her body would be atomised into pure energy in order to sustain itself.
This ultra activity only stemmed from volatile and wild excessive emotions, hence why this ability suited this bitch very well.
She was most likely already mentally unstable before all this began, and this ability merely pushed her episode to exaggerated margins.
This complete, pure energy burst of mental activity could form a temporary rift between dimensions in which she could summon the entity she wanted, then with this she would channel the providence of the human race into the entity.
Giving it the terrifying constant adaptation and potential of the human race for this brief period of time...
The god damned thing was merely a leech, feeding off what never belonged to it, this filled Seth’s heart with distaste.
To think someone would try to use humanity’s providence against him in such a manner, at this point what the fury incarnate said would be true and besides there was no telling where this thing’s limit would lie.
With that he made a decision, his arms clawing through the wind as he zipped through the forest, his will pulsing out like a ripple to locate the core of the zone.
They were already close previously, so locking onto the exact location wasn’t that hard, the overwhelming repulsive flow of abyssal force he felt was enough to tell him that indeed this would be the boss.
An abyssal boss... How much stronger would it be compared to its previous state? Seth would never know.
His eyes narrowed as he caught a feel of a few presences converging his way through the thick brush of the woods, shadows flitting through the dim grey lighting.
Seth was on constant alert, and he was able to tell that there were at least three charmed beasts among the host of attackers heading his way.
Each bearing a distinct, viscous presence, their mental power infiltrating the atmosphere, converging onto Seth and his rabid attacker in the silence of the dark.
Seth let out a deep, misty breath, as his hair fluttered, the terrain blurring around his frame, his skin tingling as the stares from the predators lurking in the dark prickled against his senses.
Seth closed his eyes briefly, his will once more rippling outward, this time using a more complicated method which the oracle had once coached him on, only this time he did a little tweaking, instead of routing for ores he locked onto body heat.
A foolproof method that no stealth ability he had seen the beast wield so far could counter, though some might have hides that could mask their heat, they could do nothing about the warm trail of breath they left in their wake.
Seth’s mind went still, like a mirror calm lake, then suddenly like a pebble plopping into its waters rippled spread outwards leaving faint red markers in its wake.
His enemies’ locations laid bare to his mind, their path outlined in intersecting loops, his brain processed a quick calculation in a manner of nanoseconds, deducing the next most efficient moves, his eyes snapped open and his body came to a sudden halt.
A sea of rabid red eyes gleamed in the sea of darkness behind him.
Feral growls reverberating through the dim skies, the entity hot on his heels charged with a ruthless pounce, its three horns glinting dangerously red, the air around them beginning to spin and spark.
From the trees a massive, copper-headed boa slithered out, its venomous eyes glowing bright as the air around it rippled, as an invisible attack lashed out.
From Seth’s side a massive, four-armed, six-eyed monkey hopped right out of nowhere, grunting savagely as it charged right for him, all six eyes igniting with a silent, sinister glint.
Its body glowing brilliantly as its energy seemingly endless raged wild.
And from the dark of his shadow a claw burst out in a blur reaching to carve out his legs.
All around, enemies converged, yet Seth remained unflinching, his will, overwhelmingly dense and suffocating, flooded the atmosphere, and along with it his willborne ability Chronostasis sparked.
Sinister and silent, the foes never even felt it cause technically they had been alienated from his time flow, they all stood frozen as Seth nocked his divine bow.
A gleaming star piercing arrow manifested, Seth catapulted himself into the air spinning through the wind as his hold over time began to slack and the beast began to twitch.
His finger let loose, "Aurora Fury!"
The sky ignited, almost as though it had been lit ablaze as a host of stars streaked down like world-ending meteorites blasting into the plain with such intense force it obliterated everything in sight.
The divine energy flaring to the limit, swallowing the whole area and wiping it clean of every strand of abyss essence.
Trees were blasted, wind whipped and the sky churned, but all that remained of his foes was a bleak sinkhole of questionable depths and drifting ashes.
Seth barely gave this result a glance before once more zipping into the far distance.
It might seem he was comfortably taking the upper hand but from the uncontrollable tremble of his fingers it was clear, exhaustion was catching up.
Even worse the weight of will, ripped out of his constraints, pulling on the rails of his mind almost digging into the walls of his mental sea.
It was getting unbearable...
