Great, It’s the Pervy Neighbor. We’re Doomed

Chapter 86: The Conversation Between Wang Qingzhao and Jiang Ran's Personality

After entering Room 304, Wang Qingzhao noticed something new on the living room wall.

She walked over, initially thinking it was some kind of human-shaped poster. Upon closer inspection, she realized it was actually a kite!

"Where did this come from? It's incredibly well-made."

Even for someone as worldly as Wang Qingzhao, seeing it for the first time, she couldn't help but marvel at the kite's exquisite craftsmanship and lifelike appearance.

"Someone gifted it to me," Jiang Ran said softly. "By the way, Sister Qingzhao, what brings you to my home?"

"Nothing special, just came to see you," Wang Qingzhao lied. She actually had a purpose for coming but couldn't reveal it now.

More accurately, she couldn't tell the current personality.

She turned to stare at the highly feminine Jiang Ran and suddenly asked, "If you're one of Jiang Ran's personalities, forgive my bluntness, but you seem quite feminine. Do you identify as a woman?"

Jiang Ran shook his head. "I'm a man."

Wang Qingzhao pressed, "Biologically or psychologically?" Jiang Ran smiled brightly. "Both. I'm just slightly more feminine in mannerisms."

After this exchange, Wang Qingzhao found herself at a loss for words. She then asked, "Since you've taken over Jiang Ran's body now, does that mean the original Jiang Ran can't come back?"

Jiang Ran giggled, covering his mouth with his right hand. "I know what you're really asking, Sister. Don't worry. I'd love to keep this body permanently, but I don't have that capability. I'll fade away soon, and the host personality—the one you're referring to—will regain control."

Hearing this, Wang Qingzhao nodded, somewhat curious. "I've read about dissociative identity disorder online. Do your personalities really fight for control of the body like they say?"

Jiang Ran smiled. "It varies by individual, but for us, yes."

"We're constantly competing for control. Whoever is stronger becomes the host personality."

"But unfortunately, your Jiang Ran—the host—is too dominant. We can't overpower him."

Wang Qingzhao looked puzzled. "Dominant? Not really. Jiang Ran always struck me as gentle, sometimes even a bit simple-minded. Just an ordinary guy?"

Jiang Ran maintained his smile. "Sister, appearances can deceive. The Jiang Ran you know might not reflect his true nature. His real self might be dormant. Eyes can be fooled—what we see isn't always truth."

Wang Qingzhao nodded. "You say you can't overpower him, yet here you are now."

Jiang Ran shook his head. "My emergence was due to external forces, not my own doing."

Wang Qingzhao's curiosity piqued. "External forces? What kind?"

Jiang Ran replied, "That's something I must keep secret."

Wang Qingzhao thought for a moment before guessing, "Is it because of Jiang Ran's medication? Is it ineffective?"

She had researched Jiang Ran's dissociative identity disorder medication afterward—the most basic kind with side effects.

She suspected this effeminate Jiang Ran had emerged because the medication wasn't working properly.

Jiang Ran didn't answer. Instead, he suddenly said, "Sister, I must go now. Goodbye!"

He waved at Wang Qingzhao, then his body went limp like a toy without batteries, collapsing onto the tiled floor.

Coming and going abruptly, this left Wang Qingzhao stunned.

After the effeminate personality vanished, Jiang Ran remained unconscious on the floor.

Wang Qingzhao dragged him onto the sofa.

Now staring at Jiang Ran's somewhat handsome face, Wang Qingzhao recalled advice from her childhood psychologist during college:

"Antisocial personality disorder's core issue is emotional detachment—the inability to feel basic empathy or emotions like ordinary people."

"If someone with ASPD could develop normal empathy—say, feeling sympathy for another's suffering instead of indifference or even deriving pleasure from their pain—they might improve."

"Now that you're in college, I recommend trying romance."

"Genuinely fall in love, regardless of gender. I mean real affection, not self-centered manipulation."

"Start with conventional heterosexual relationships to cultivate normal emotional responses. Then explore further. Learn to love like anyone else."

Following this advice, Wang Qingzhao decided to pursue a relationship.

Despite her ASPD, she felt no attraction to women and resolved to date a man like "normal" women did.

Surveying her surroundings, she settled on Jiang Ran.

She wasn't sure if her feelings for him matched what the doctor described as "normal" female emotions.

But Jiang Ran did stir something in her.

Unfortunately, it never happened.

Had they gotten together, she might have discovered whether she could experience "normal" romantic feelings.

And Jiang Ran wouldn't have been dumped by Shen Xing, developing dissociative identity disorder.

This thought evoked in her a pang of heartache—an emotion she'd never felt toward anyone or anything before.

As Wang Qingzhao stared at Jiang Ran's face, lost in thought for about five minutes...

Jiang Ran slowly opened his eyes on the sofa, gradually sitting up while rubbing his head.

"That's strange. Why does my head hurt?" he muttered.

Before he could ponder this, he noticed he was home—and even more bizarrely, Wang Qingzhao was there too.

"Why are you in my house?" Jiang Ran blinked in confusion.

Wang Qingzhao replied, "Oh, just bringing you something," gesturing to a box in her hands.

Jiang Ran remained baffled. "But how did you get in?"

Wang Qingzhao lied smoothly, "Your door was unlocked, so I came in and found you passed out on the sofa."
