"Did you kill the Left Protector?" an elder demanded, even as everyone else was rejoicing.

Ye Fan shot her a cold glance and retorted, "And what if I did?"

The elder did not dare to speak another word. The Purple Elixir Hall Master, however, was filled with hope. Anyone who can slay the Blood Demon Ancestor is no ordinary man.

"The Left Protector conspired with the Blood Demon Ancestor to kill me," Ye Fan explained. "But he was foolish, very foolish! They both fell to my sword. The so-called Blood Demon Ancestor was nothing special after all!"

He tossed the heads onto the ground. The martial artists of the Blood Demon Sect who had rushed forward were horrified. With even their Sect Hierarch dead, they scattered and fled in all directions.

"Why?" the Purple Elixir Hall Master asked. Little Rou and Xiao Lian looked crestfallen, as they too had hoped Ye Fan would become their leader.

A stunned silence fell over the hall. Everyone was too shocked by his revelation to move.

"But rest assured," he continued. "Even if I am not physically in the Purple Elixir Sect, I will surely help if the Sect is in trouble. For the time being, I will help the Purple Elixir Sect eliminate its surrounding enemies."

"Thank you, protector!" the Purple Elixir Hall Master and all the martial artists expressed their gratitude.

The Purple Elixir Hall Master then said, "In that case, my word still stands. Little Rou and Xiao Lian will be the Sect Leaders of our Purple Elixir Sect!"

"No, Hall Master!" the two women immediately protested. "In these troubled times, our natures are too gentle and soft. We are not suited to be the Sect Hierarch. You should take the position!"
