Chapter 792 - 789: Teach a Harsh Lesson
It had to be said, this kind of treatment was quite nice, but Ye Fan was not destined to enjoy it. He always had a feeling that if he dared to do anything out of line, one of his women would be watching him from the shadows.
The two women were surprised by Ye Fan’s indifference. Is our allure lacking, or is there something wrong with him in that department? It was a question worth pondering. However, his disinterest was exactly what they hoped for. Born in chaotic times, who could truly be in control of their own fate? At least with Ye Fan, they could feel at ease.
The next morning, as soon as Ye Fan rose, he found the two women practicing with their swords in the courtyard. Their style was graceful and beautiful—the Purple Elixir Sword Technique. Although the technique was profound, Ye Fan could see it was riddled with flaws. Because of this, he immediately intervened.
The two women moved quickly to defend themselves as Ye Fan engaged them with a slender bamboo stalk. Despite using their full strength, they were still defeated by him.
"Too many flaws, too many openings," Ye Fan said. "Let me help you perfect it."
"Thank you, Right Protector!" the two women exclaimed, overjoyed. They hadn’t expected Ye Fan’s insight to be so sharp; he had identified their weaknesses after watching them just once. Filled with delight, they both gazed at him admiringly.
"Watch carefully," Ye Fan said. "I will only demonstrate this once."
"Mhm!"
The women watched, utterly mesmerized. Every move Ye Fan made, every form he displayed, exuded an unparalleled, domineering aura.
When he finished the entire sword technique, Ye Fan asked, "Did you memorize it?"
"No!" they replied in unison.
Ye Fan nearly stumbled and fell. The women pouted. After all, the Swordsmanship he had demonstrated was far too profound. They would need a long time just to comprehend it, let alone memorize it so quickly.
Resigned, Ye Fan spent the entire morning personally teaching them the technique. By the time he was done, Xiao Lian and Little Rou’s favorable impression of him had grown immensely, and their wariness had vanished completely.
At noon, the Purple Elixir Hall Master still hadn’t arrived. Instead, the two women were singing in the courtyard, their voices beautiful and melodious. When they saw Ye Fan approach, they hurried to greet him.
"Why hasn’t your Hall Master arrived yet?" Ye Fan asked.
Little Rou replied, "Right Protector, the Hall Master went down the mountain to deal with the Blood Demon Sect. She probably won’t be back until this evening."
"I see," Ye Fan nodded.
So the Purple Elixir Sect and the Blood Demon Sect are archenemies. But from what I know of the Purple Elixir Sect, they’re likely being suppressed by the Blood Demon Sect.
"Right Protector, we will prepare your evening meal," one of the women offered.
"Mhm," Ye Fan nodded.
He was eager to understand this world more deeply, but unfortunately, the two women knew little about it. To grasp its essence, he would have to rely on the Purple Elixir Hall Master.
However, three days passed in a flash, and the Hall Master still had not returned. In that time, he had become quite friendly with the two women.
At least, that’s how he saw it. The two women, however, had become even more infatuated with him. The skills Ye Fan had demonstrated over the past three days had left them completely captivated.
That evening, just as Ye Fan was preparing to enter a state of meditative cultivation, Little Rou came running in, panicked.
"Little Rou, what’s wrong?" Ye Fan asked. They weren’t the type to get so flustered, so why was she in such a frenzy?
"Right Protector," she said anxiously, "Xiao Lian was taken by the Left Protector!"
"What?"
Although he had no deep feelings for the girls, they had diligently cared for him these last few days. In a sense, they were his people. For this reason, he said immediately, "Lead the way!"
"Yes!"
Little Rou quickly led Ye Fan to the Left Protector’s private courtyard.
Inside the courtyard, Xiao Lian was staring at the Left Protector in a panic. She knew exactly what kind of person he was—a true, out-and-out killing maniac. Every year, servant girls died at his hands. But the Left Protector’s power was immense; even the Purple Elixir Hall Master could do little more than offer a few words of reprimand.
At that moment, the Left Protector laughed. "Little darling, don’t be afraid. As long as you serve me well, you’ll get benefits you couldn’t even dream of!"
"Left Protector, please don’t make things difficult for me," Xiao Lian pleaded. "I belong to the Right Protector!"
But the Left Protector just sneered. "The Right Protector? He’s a joke. In my eyes, he’s worthless. Sooner or later, I’ll take care of him. It’s just a pity he’s been hiding in his courtyard these past few days!" He lunged, grabbing Xiao Lian in an embrace. "Come on, little darling! Let me show you what I can do in bed!"
SLAP!
Xiao Lian struck the Left Protector across the face. The Left Protector, who had been grinning with excitement just a moment before, suddenly froze. Xiao Lian was filled with terror, knowing full well how horrifying he could be.
The Left Protector struck her with his palm, sending her flying backward.
PFFT!
She landed hard, coughing up a large mouthful of blood. As a mere Divine General, how could she possibly be a match for the Left Protector?
"Bitch!" the Left Protector roared. "I’m honoring you by wanting to play with you! Don’t be so ungrateful, or I’ll kill you!"
BANG!
Just then, the main door was kicked open. The Left Protector spun around to see Ye Fan and Little Rou. Little Rou rushed over to help Xiao Lian to her feet.
"Are you alright?" Ye Fan asked.
"Right Protector, I... I’m fine," Xiao Lian replied weakly, her face pale.
"You two stand aside," Ye Fan said, his voice cold. "Let me deal with this lawless bastard."
"Deal with me? Are you sure?" the Left Protector sneered. "Don’t think that just because they gave you the title of Right Protector you can do whatever you want. Do you really think you’re my equal? In my eyes, you are nothing!"
"The Left Protector? Is he supposed to be strong?" Ye Fan retorted. He charged forward and—
SLAP!
The Left Protector had no time to defend himself before Ye Fan’s hand cracked across his face. He glared at Ye Fan, his eyes brimming with murderous intent.
The two women watched with worry, terrified that Ye Fan was no match for the Left Protector. After all, his power was immense. Within the Purple Elixir Sect, apart from the mysterious Sect Leader, no one was his equal.
SLAP!
This time, Ye Fan’s strike carried tremendous force. The Left Protector was sent flying, crashing hard into the courtyard ground, a large, red handprint swelling on his face.
Enraged, the Left Protector unleashed his famed killing aura. A phantasmal centipede, the manifestation of his power’s source, materialized and lunged at Ye Fan. This terrifying centipede was his Lifebound Divine Beast.
Ye Fan scoffed. "A mere insect."
"Wanxiang Divine Shield!"
Instantly, a blue phantom appeared—or rather, a blue Great Emperor. The giant had transformed. The centipede seemed utterly minuscule before this massive blue figure.
"The Right Protector is so strong!" Little Rou exclaimed in adoration.
Though weakened, Xiao Lian was deeply moved. Her relationship with Ye Fan was merely that of a servant to a master, yet he had risked himself to save her in this moment of crisis. The two women’s reverence for Ye Fan soared to a new height.
CRASH!
The two phantoms collided. The clash was completely one-sided. Before the Great Emperor’s illusion, the centipede phantom was as fragile as glass, shattering on impact. The Left Protector was sent flying backward once more.
Though both were Subcestors, there were distinct tiers among them. Through years of perfecting his abilities, Ye Fan had already reached the pinnacle of the Subcestor Peak. The Left Protector was leagues behind him.
Ye Fan seized him in a single motion.
The Left Protector coughed up blood, his eyes filled with terror as he stared at Ye Fan. Nevertheless, he managed to choke out, "You wouldn’t dare kill me!"
