Chapter 790 - 787: A Brand New World
He then saw it: a unique world, an expansive and boundless continent surrounded by many smaller realms.
He could confirm this was a continent where Martial Arts flourished, for the Spiritual Energy here seemed even denser than in the Divine Domain. Any Martial Cultivator could thrive here. As long as one was not completely devoid of talent, great achievements were within reach.
Standing on this continent, Ye Fan sighed. This departure from the Divine Domain was nothing more than aimless wandering through the Void.
"Young friend, I see you have an extraordinary constitution, a prime candidate for cultivation. Why not join our Kai Feng Sect?" an elder said to him. "Join our Kai Feng Sect, and within a thousand years, you will undoubtedly become one of the top powerhouses on the Martial Arts Continent!"
"The Kai Feng Sect?" Ye Fan was curious; the name certainly sounded impressive.
"No, no, no, young friend, you should join our Chongyang Prefecture!" a middle-aged man cut in. "Our Chongyang Prefecture was established as a sect long before the Kai Feng Sect. Join us, and your achievements will be far greater than anything you could accomplish there! Don’t let that old coot fool you!"
The elder and the middle-aged man wore distinct attire, likely the uniforms of their respective sects.
The elder immediately shot back, "Chongyang Prefecture, what grand airs! You may have established your sect early, but the legacy of our Hua Mountain God far surpasses yours! Your Chongyang Prefecture is nothing but a relic of the past!"
"Insolence! Even in decline, we are still stronger than your Kai Feng Sect! If you dare obstruct the Chongyang Prefecture’s recruitment today, don’t blame me for being discourteous."
"As if I’d be afraid of you!"
The two were on the verge of trading blows.
Ye Fan watched them. Both were quite strong, at the Divine Monarch Realm. He had not expected to be forcefully recruited the moment he arrived in this world. At that, he said, "Gentlemen, that’s enough."
"Does that mean you’ve decided to join our Kai Feng Sect, young friend?" the elder asked with a beaming smile. "I knew your choice would be the correct one!"
The middle-aged man scoffed, "Nonsense! He clearly intends to join our Chongyang Prefecture. Stop dreaming."
The two immediately started bickering again.
Exasperated, Ye Fan stated, "Gentlemen, I appreciate your invitations, but I currently have no intention of joining any sect!"
Instantly, both men glared at him furiously. Their amicable demeanors vanished, replaced by a palpable Slaughter Aura.
Ye Fan met their gazes, his own expression perfectly calm and undisturbed.
"The price for refusing an invitation from the Chongyang Prefecture is death!"
"The same goes for the Kai Feng Sect!" the two said coldly.
Ye Fan replied, "Gentlemen, are you truly planning to recruit someone by force? I know very little about either of your sects, and as I said, I have no intention of joining any power. So, it would be best if you didn’t force my hand."
"Hmph! In that case, die!"
Both men charged at him, their killing intent flaring.
SWOOSH!
A flicker of killing intent flashed past. The two men’s heads tumbled to the ground as Ye Fan calmly walked past their corpses. He had been perfectly courteous, but they did not know what was good for them. Even if their sects came to retaliate, Ye Fan was completely unafraid.
Ye Fan continued forward. About an hour later, he spotted a small village. As he approached, he discovered that it had been massacred.
Not a single soul, adult or child, had been spared. They were all killed, their bodies piled up at the village entrance. On the pile was a blood-red sigil: a gory scimitar.
"What force could be so cruel? To not even spare a defenseless village... This is the height of brutality!" Ye Fan said angrily, his eyes filling with endless fury.
Just then, a sharp voice barked, "How dare you, vile fiend of the Blood Demon Sect! To commit such lawless murder in the territory of our Purple Elixir Sect!"
Instantly, several figures stepped forward and surrounded Ye Fan. He saw that they were five women, all wearing cloaks, blocking his path from five directions.
He explained, "I didn’t kill these people. I am not a martial artist from the Blood Demon Sect. You have the wrong person; I was just passing by."
"Hmph! Still making excuses at a time like this? Come with us! If you refuse, we’ll kill you!" one of the women chastised.
Ye Fan was speechless. He found it hard to believe these women could be so unreasonable. Are all women, whether on Earth or in other worlds, this irrational? It certainly seems so. There’s nothing more to say... I’m hopeless.
He said, "Ladies, don’t force me. Moments ago, two arrogant fools tried to force my hand, but I’ve already sent their heads to heaven."
"Seize him! Avenge these innocent people!"
The five women immediately drew their longswords and attacked from five directions. They were truly quick to start a fight. In response, Ye Fan struck back, unleashing his Dragon Emperor’s Power. The force slammed into the five women, sending them all flying backward to crash hard onto the ground.
Ye Fan had not killed them and simply turned to leave. But as he did, he saw purple, pill-like flowers begin to fall from the Void.
"Eternal Purple Pills, death upon landing!"
A crisp, pleasant voice echoed. Ye Fan was annoyed. Another show-off. The one thing I hate most is posturing.
He braced himself, ready to strike and kill the moment this person appeared.
However, just then, a murderous aura surged as the purple pills blossomed. From within the flowers, a woman in a green dress flew out, launching an attack.
Ye Fan was startled, nearly caught off guard. He countered with a palm strike that met the woman’s kick. The impact threw the woman awkwardly to the ground, while he remained standing, unmoved.
The five women scrambled to their feet and hurriedly said, "Greetings, Purple Elixir Hall Master!"
"Rise," the woman commanded. She then turned her gaze to Ye Fan. A veil obscured her face, making her features impossible to discern.
He took the initiative to speak. "You’ve arrived just in time. I did not kill the people in this village! They, however, insisted that I did, which is why I was forced to strike and injure them!"
Ye Fan stated his case clearly, hoping this woman would be rational so that communication would not be so exhausting.
The woman replied, "I know. The people were killed by the Blood Demon Sect. You carry none of the Blood Demon Sect’s aura, nor do you practice their cultivation techniques. So, I believe you."
"Then why did you attack me?" Ye Fan asked, his frustration mounting.
"I only attacked to test whether you were affiliated with the Blood Demon Sect," she explained.
Alright, then. Ye Fan was speechless. What could he say? Her logic was sound, making any protest from him seem unreasonable. Besides, this was her territory, and it was a simple misunderstanding. At least he was unharmed, so he could not be bothered to argue. He was just glad he had finally found a rational person.
Ye Fan said, "In that case, I shall take my leave."
He realized this world was chaotic, far more so than he had anticipated. It was clearly a world dominated by the struggles between sects and other powers. He had only been in this world for four hours, yet he had already witnessed multiple massacres.
Suddenly, the Purple Elixir Hall Master said, "Wait!"
