Supreme Cultivation Master

Chapter 51 - 50 Suddenly Running Into

"Impossible!" Manager Xu said with disdain.

Tang Yurou handed the document to Manager Xu and said, "See for yourself!"

Manager Xu hastily opened the document. When he saw the information inside, he was so shocked he collapsed to the ground.

At that moment, the news was also uploaded to the company’s network, instantly sending the mid-level and junior staff into a frenzy.

Manager Xu trembled, "Why... why is this happening?"

He completely broke down. His own brother had been kicked out, which meant he had no status in the company whatsoever. Wrong, I’m outright fired.

Tang Yurou said, "And the rest of you, pack up your things and leave!"

"Director, we were wrong! Please give us another chance!" they immediately wailed.

They had struggled so hard to get to their current positions, only to be dismissed just like that. One by one, they knelt and admitted their mistakes, but Tang Yurou refused to give them any chance.

Then, Tang Yurou turned to Ye Fan and said, "You’re wandering around during work hours. Come to my office."

"On my way!" Ye Fan eagerly trotted after her.

The administrative department erupted in celebration, jubilant that Manager Xu, the office’s resident bad apple, had finally been fired. A few others, however, were simply relieved. They realized that if they had stepped out to support Manager Xu earlier, they would have likely been fired too, which was a terrifying thought.

Seeing that there was no hope of staying, the handful of men who were also fired decided Manager Xu was entirely to blame for their situation, and they glared at him with rage.

No longer a manager, the man was terrified. Without his title, he was less than nothing.

"Damn it, you made Laozi lose his job! Brothers, beat the hell out of him!"

Several of them rushed forward and began punching and kicking Manager Xu.

If it weren’t for the company’s strict rule against fighting, everyone in the administrative department probably would have joined in to beat the fat slob to death. Manager Xu was beaten so badly that he was just shy of needing an ambulance.

With one piece of good news after another, it was undoubtedly the most uplifting day the company had seen in a long time.

Upon arriving at Tang Yurou’s office, Ye Fan suddenly hugged her from behind.

She quickly struggled free. "Don’t mess around! If someone from the company sees us, it’ll be hard to explain."

"What’s there to be afraid of!" Ye Fan laughed.

She asked him, "What’s going on? You’re working at the company now?"

"It’s all because of that old hag—I mean, I was assigned here by Mr. Su! I’m helpless!" Ye Fan blurted out. "You know I’m just not cut out for this kind of work atmosphere."

Tang Yurou laughed. "I knew you wouldn’t fit in, but you can get used to it slowly."

"Want some coffee?" she asked.

Ye Fan shook his head. He wasn’t in the mood for coffee. He couldn’t help but admire her office, though. It was beautiful—simple and stylish, but not plain. Clearly, she had a knack for decorating her workspace.

Just then, Tang Yurou’s computer seemed to be acting up, and it wouldn’t reboot. She was about to call the maintenance department when Ye Fan interjected, "Want me to take a look?"

"You know how?" Tang Yurou asked, looking puzzled.

"A man can never say he can’t!"

Ye Fan was speechless, though her doubt was understandable. After all, he didn’t exactly look like a computer whiz.

He walked over. Just as Tang Yurou stood up to give him her seat, her high heel slipped, and she stumbled right toward him.

"Crap!"

Ye Fan wasn’t standing rigidly, and her lunge sent him toppling backward. He was thrown off balance, falling to the floor with Tang Yurou landing right on top of him. In an instant, the entire office fell silent, so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. The scene felt straight out of an office romance.

As fate would have it, her lips landed on his. It wasn’t intentional, of course—their fall was just that complete, that ambiguous.

Tang Yurou gazed at him passionately, making no move to pull away.

Being a man, it was impossible for him not to feel a surge of impulse. He wrapped his arms around her back, and to his surprise, she didn’t resist. Moved by the moment, she didn’t want to.

Originally, Ye Fan thought this was a lucky break, but he soon realized it wasn’t a perk—it was a trap.

Because just then, the office door was flung open.

They both turned their heads to see Su Qingxue.

Su Qingxue had arrived in high spirits, but the sight before her wiped the smile from her face. Her already cold expression grew even frostier.

Tang Yurou quickly scrambled off of Ye Fan.

"M-Mr. Su, it’s not what you think! We... we just fell!"

Her explanation was utterly unconvincing. After all, who would believe they had "just fallen" when caught in such a position? Not even a ghost would buy that story. Forget others, even Ye Fan and Tang Yurou, the ones who actually lived it, could hardly believe it themselves.

Su Qingxue said coldly, "Tang Yurou, this time, I’ll pretend I didn’t see anything. But if there’s a next time, you can leave."

"Yes!" Tang Yurou nodded fearfully. For some reason, being caught by Su Qingxue felt exactly like being caught in an affair. It wasn’t her fault, though. Her presence simply wasn’t as powerful as Su Qingxue’s. She was completely outmatched in terms of aura. How could I possibly win?

Ye Fan was mortified, knowing he’d gone too far this time. He braced himself for whatever punishment Su Qingxue was about to deliver.

Su Qingxue pointed a finger at him. "You’re fired. As of today, you don’t need to come back to work."

Although this should be bad news, why do I feel so liberated? Yes, that’s it, liberation! Wow! This feels great!

"Okay, I’m going, I’m going! I’ll leave right now!"

Ye Fan quickly made his escape. For him, this wasn’t bad news; it was freedom. The struggle was finally over. At that moment, he felt like bursting into a song about freedom.

A wave of guilt washed over Tang Yurou, but even so, she believed she hadn’t done anything wrong, regardless of what Su Qingxue thought. Is it wrong to fight for someone you like?

Su Qingxue returned to her office. Earlier, she had been full of energy, but now everything felt bland and uninteresting. Her mind kept replaying the scene she had just witnessed, and her fingers kept fumbling on the keyboard, filling her screen with typos.

She slammed her water cup on the floor, shattering it and splashing water everywhere.

"No, I absolutely can’t let you two be together," Su Qingxue said coldly. She realized the gravity of the situation. If she didn’t intervene, it was only a matter of time before a real problem developed.
