Reincarnated as a Goblin: My 'Sword' is Malfunctioning!!

Chapter 201: The Eve of the Anniversary

It had been exactly nine years and three hundred sixty four days since the massive celestial sky shattered.

Tomorrow the entire spinning globe would loudly celebrate the grand Festival of the Forge.

I stood quietly inside my massive royal bedchamber. I willed my physical biology to seamlessly shift. The heavy thick Dragon Mech armor did not simply detach from my towering frame.

It liquefied smoothly and absorbed deeply into my dark green skin. I did not wear my tailored military coat tonight.

I pulled a simple heavy brown traveler's cloak completely over my broad muscular shoulders. I pulled the deep thick hood low over my glowing red eyes.

I wanted to see my sprawling empire through the eyes of a simple commoner one final time.

I slipped entirely unnoticed from the towering Iron Estate. I walked calmly down the wide winding stone stairs and entered the bustling lower city districts.

The Steampunk metropolis was incredibly vibrant and loudly alive. Millions of glowing blue Aetherion streetlamps illuminated the clean polished cobblestone streets.

The thick night air smelled intensely of sweet roasted spices and hot clean machine oil. Massive joyful crowds filled the wide open market squares.

I walked slowly quietly through the dense packed streets. My towering frame easily blended into the massive diverse population. The citizens were far too busy excitedly preparing for the massive global festival to notice a single tall hooded stranger.

I saw a towering heavily scarred minotaur standing behind a large hot iron grill. The massive beastman was peacefully handing massive wooden skewers of sizzling roasted meat directly to a group of laughing human children.

The tiny human kids completely lacked any inherent racial fear. They cheered loudly and handed the giant monster small shiny copper coins.

A few blocks down I watched a group of ancient tall elves interacting smoothly with dwarven engineers.

The beautiful elegant elves were happily trading glowing green nature crystals for Nyssa's highly advanced clockwork gadgets.

The elves marveled openly at the precise spinning brass gears while the engineers eagerly inspected the infinite magical batteries.

The bitter ancient racial hatreds were completely permanently erased. The Forge had successfully unified the entire physical planet. The massive central plaza featured a colossal towering iron monument.

It was the original skyscraper sized Void Steel Railgun that Nyssa had used to shoot the marble warships directly out of the dark sky. Children joyfully climbed on its cold deactivated base.

I continued walking until I found a loud highly crowded tavern near the massive central foundries. The heavy wooden sign above the door proudly displayed a crossed iron wrench and a bloody silver battleaxe.

I pushed the heavy swinging doors open. The interior was incredibly packed and suffocatingly warm. Loud booming laughter and cheerful shouting completely filled the large room.

I moved silently to a dark empty corner table. I sat down heavily on a small sturdy wooden stool. A young human barmaid quickly brought me a massive heavy iron mug filled completely with frothy dark ale.

She smiled warmly and completely failed to recognize the supreme sovereign of the world sitting hidden beneath the dirty brown cloak.

I gripped the cold iron mug and listened deeply quietly to my unified people.

The large tavern was packed tightly with scarred Vanguard beastman veterans and heavily muscled human factory workers.

They sat shoulder to shoulder at the long sticky wooden tables. They loudly shared wild exaggerated war stories and aggressively slammed their heavy mugs together.

A massive gray furred wolf beastman suddenly stood up on a sturdy wooden table. He raised his spilling iron mug extremely high into the smoky air. He possessed a massive jagged scar across his right eye from the celestial invasion ten years ago.

"Quiet down you filthy loud mutts and grease monkeys!" the veteran wolf roared happily. The entire packed tavern instantly fell entirely silent. They all turned respectfully toward the scarred soldier.

"Tomorrow we celebrate the ultimate victory," the wolf declared proudly. His deep voice shook the thick wooden rafters.

"Tomorrow we honor the unbroken iron. We honor the endless warm food and the safe clean streets. But tonight we actively drink to the terrifying monster who physically tore the false gods straight out of the dark sky! We drink to the Sovereign! We drink to the God Butcher!"

"To the God Butcher!" the entire crowded tavern roared back simultaneously.

Hundreds of heavy iron mugs slammed violently together. The joyful booming cheer was incredibly deafening. Human paladins and beastman berserkers drank deeply happily as blood brothers.

I sat completely hidden in the dark corner. I did not stand up or reveal my terrifying true identity. I simply raised my own heavy mug slightly in the shadows. I took a long slow drink of the bitter dark ale. It tasted exactly like pure total victory.

I left a heavy gold coin on the sticky table and walked silently back out into the cool night air.

I navigated the massive winding Steampunk streets until I reached the heavy lower walls of the Iron Estate. I ignited my hidden internal core just enough to forcefully propel my heavy body directly upward. I landed softly completely silently on the highest polished stone balcony of the grand royal palace.

I reached up and pulled the heavy brown cloak off my wide shoulders. I dropped the dirty fabric casually onto the smooth stone floor.

Ramona and Kaelith were already patiently waiting for me. Lysandra and Anise stood closely beside them. The four beautiful Queens looked completely radiant under the bright glowing light of the massive Aetherion moons floating high above the city.

"Did you finally find what you were deeply searching for?" Ramona asked softly warmly. Her bright golden reptilian eyes shined with deep endless love.

I walked slowly confidently forward. I wrapped my massive thick green arms securely tightly around all of my beautiful fierce queens. I pulled them incredibly close to my broad muscular chest. I looked out over the sprawling glowing Steampunk utopia. Millions of tiny blue lights twinkled peacefully beautifully across the massive global capital.

"Yes," I rumbled deeply. I rested my heavy chin gently on top of Kaelith's soft silver hair.

"The entire physical world is perfectly completely safe. The loyal pack is totally unbroken."

Anise leaned her beautiful face heavily against my massive dark green chest. She listened carefully to the slow incredibly powerful rhythmic beating of my draconic monster heart.

"Tomorrow is the grand tenth anniversary," Anise whispered softly.

"The children are incredibly eager to finally show you their newly mastered combat skills in the grand arena."

"They will be completely terrifying," I replied proudly with a jagged heavy smile.

"And the entire unified world will properly witness the supreme unbreakable strength of our eternal bloodline."
