Chapter 224
Irina’s POV
I didn’t think. I didn’t hesitate. I just exploded.
For my entire life, I was a victim. I was the punching bag. I was the pathetic, broken Omega who hid in dark closets and cried. I let arrogant Alphas push me down. I apologized for breathing. I let monsters treat me like garbage.
Not today. Not ever again.
The rage inside me wasn’t a tiny spark. It was a massive, blinding sun. It consumed everything. This evil man created the hell my mate lived in. He tortured Nicholas. He ordered the brutal slaughter of my people. He was the root of all our pain.
And now, he dared to look at me like I was a piece of trash. He dared to call me a toy.
I had never felt this kind of explosive, terrifying power in my entire life. It flooded my veins like liquid fire. My blood boiled. My muscles coiled tighter than steel springs.
My human body launched forward into the freezing air. I moved with a speed that defied logic. The oversized, bloody cloak violently whipped off my small shoulders. I didn’t care about the biting cold. I didn’t care about the danger.
*CRACK.*
The shift was instantaneous. It was pure, violent ecstasy. My fragile human bones snapped and reformed in a fraction of a second. Thick, blindingly white fur violently erupted from my pores. My jaw elongated into a heavy, lethal muzzle.
I didn’t land on two weak feet. I landed heavily on four massive paws.
I let out a deafening, terrifying roar.
The former Alpha’s dark eyes widened in pure, unadulterated shock. He didn’t expect this. He thought I was just a soft little human girl. He thought he could bully me with his cruel words. He was dead wrong.
I hit him like a runaway freight train.
My massive white body slammed directly into his bleeding chest. The impact was absolutely brutal. We crashed backward against the rough, freezing bark of the giant pine tree. He let out a harsh, wet gasp as all the air was violently knocked out of his lungs.
I didn’t give him an inch. I pinned him down hard into the bloody slush. My heavy, razor-sharp claws dug incredibly deep into his broad shoulders.
But he was still a king in his own twisted mind. He was a monster forged in decades of blood and war.
Even severely injured, his primal survival instincts were absolutely terrifying. He didn’t surrender. He didn’t beg. He violently fought back.
*CRACK.*
He shifted right underneath me. His broken human leg twisted sickeningly, the bone protruding through his skin. But his inner beast didn’t care about the agonizing pain. A massive, heavily scarred gray wolf violently took his place. He smelled like rotten meat, old copper, and pure evil.
He snapped his heavy jaws. His disgusting yellow teeth sank incredibly deep into my right shoulder.
Pain violently flared in my nerves. It was a sharp, burning agony. Hot blood rapidly soaked my pristine white fur.
A year ago, that pain would have completely paralyzed me. I would have whimpered. I would have submitted. I would have waited for death.
But now? The pain didn’t scare me. It only fueled my psychotic, burning rage.
I didn’t back down. I didn’t cry. I snarled directly into his ugly, scarred face.
I snapped my own powerful jaws forward. My razor-sharp teeth tore aggressively into his thick neck. I tasted his bitter, toxic blood on my tongue. I ripped my heavy head to the side, violently tearing his flesh.
The gray wolf howled in agony. He rolled wildly. He used his massive, terrifying weight to flip us over in the freezing mud.
We violently grappled. It was a chaotic, vicious struggle. White and gray fur became a blurry, bloody mess in the dark snow. The silence of the forest was entirely shattered by our deafening snarls.
He slashed his dirty, jagged claws aggressively across my ribs. I kicked my heavy back legs violently into his stomach. I tore mercilessly at his open, gaping wounds. He snapped at my throat. I dodged and bit down hard on his ear, ripping it clean off.
We were a massive tornado of teeth and claws.
He was severely injured. He was bleeding out fast. But he fought with the desperate, insane strength of a dying dictator. He refused to lose to a former Omega. He threw his massive weight against me, pinning me to the ice. His jaws snapped inches from my face. I shoved my paws against his chest, holding his lethal teeth away from my throat.
We were entirely matched. It was a deadly, even fight.
*‘Irina!’*
Nicholas’s voice violently ripped through our sacred mate bond. It wasn’t just a call. It was a massive roar of absolute terror and blinding, psychotic fury.
He couldn’t stand watching his monster of a father hurt me. He couldn’t watch me bleed.
A massive, pitch-black shadow violently eclipsed the moonlight.
Nicholas completely exploded into the fight. His massive, terrifying black wolf hit his father with the unstoppable force of a collapsing mountain. The physical impact literally shook the frozen ground beneath us. It sounded like two cars colliding head-on.
The old gray wolf was violently thrown off me. He crashed heavily into a jagged, icy boulder.
I scrambled quickly to my paws. My right shoulder bled heavily. My ribs ached with a burning fire. But my glowing golden eyes stayed locked fiercely onto our enemy. I stood my ground.
Nicholas didn’t give his father a single second to recover. He was a terrifying god of pure, absolute destruction. He lunged fiercely at the gray wolf.
The old Alpha met him in mid-air. The two massive, terrifying beasts collided. The sickening sound of their heavy jaws snapping shut echoed like gunshots in the freezing night. They tore at each other. It was a brutal clash of pure Alpha dominance. Black fur and gray fur tangled violently.
I didn’t stay back. I didn’t let my mate fight alone. This was our war.
I lunged fiercely at the old Alpha’s blind spot.
I sank my razor-sharp teeth deeply into his injured back leg. I clamped my jaws shut. I aggressively crushed the heavy bones right beneath my teeth.
The gray wolf shrieked. It was a pathetic, agonizing sound. He violently turned his heavy head to snap at me. His yellow eyes were full of pure, unfiltered hatred.
That was his final, fatal mistake. He took his eyes off the Alpha King.
Nicholas saw the perfect opening. His demonic red eyes burned with a terrifying, lethal light.
The former Alpha was completely exhausted. His dark, toxic blood painted the white snow in sickening patterns. His heavy, battered muscles finally gave out entirely. He had absolutely no strength left to fight. His massive chest he heave with ragged, failing, desperate breaths. He was finished.
Nicholas pounced.
His massive black jaws opened impossibly wide. He clamped down directly on his father’s thick, vulnerable throat.
The old wolf choked. He thrashed weakly in the bloody snow. His jagged claws scraped desperately against the frozen rocks. It was a pathetic, useless attempt to survive.
Nicholas’s heavy jaw muscles violently bunched. He didn’t show a single ounce of mercy. He bit down hard with all of his massive, terrifying Alpha strength.
*CRUNCH.*
The sound of the thick neck bones violently snapping was incredibly loud. It was absolute. It echoed sharply and permanently in the cold night.
Nicholas ripped his massive head to the side, tearing the throat completely open.
A massive spray of dark, hot blood hit the pristine white snow.
His head lolled to the side, completely motionless.
