SSS Void Ascension: I Devour All Elements

Chapter 159: The Evil Twin

Killian's legs stiffened when he made eye contact with her. He hated how he had met her only twice yet her golden eyes were already too familiar.

"So that is why."

There was no glacier or dead body. Only a temperate heat remained within the arena and a dying light from her hands. 'The heat of light must've melted the glacier.'

Killian tore his gaze away from hers, and stepped away from the entrance. He searched for his brother but only spotted Reginald outside the wet arena.

He looked back in time to see the lady walking out of the arena. A swarm of young Wardens rushed, calling out to her.

"Lady Radiance!"

"My Lady, over here!"

"My Lady, you're so cool!"

Killian watched them with mild amusement. It was as if they would be satisfied with a glance from her.

With their enthusiasm, some might pass out from joy if she touched them or spoke to them.

But the Light User did nothing to show that she could even hear their screams as she strutted out. Some of the crowd followed her, leaving their seats.

Killian searched for a section with more seats available. His eyes met with Reginald's.

The boy climbed into the arena that was still damp but being worked on by a Fire Type Coordinator. Killian took his hand out of his pocket to wave, but Reginald looked away.

"Oh…" He returned his hand to his pockets. "I guess he's still upset about what I said."

Killian exhaled, and searched for Theodore. He found him with his younger brother and hurried to their line of seats. They sat at the very end of their row so he endured the glances to get to them.

"Psst. Hey."

Killian's shoulders straightened. He raised his head. 'Evelyn?' He spotted her waving at him.

She tapped a seat beside hers, smiling. "Come here."

Killian climbed the next stairs he saw, branching to where she sat. A gust of wind blew past him, and he stopped feeling the light taps.

He settled into the empty seat beside her, and counted two other seats to her left and another two to her right that were empty.

The only ones who sat in her row were boys, who wore a frown the moment Killian sat beside them.

"I sent you a text." Evelyn took out her phone. "Didn't you see it?" She showed him the screen. "Or is your Night Mode still on?"

Killian reached for his phone in pocket, while squinting his eyes at the time she sent her message.

He looked back at her with lidded eyes. "You seriously texted me at 3AM and expected a reply?"

She shrugged. "I couldn't sleep. And I wanted to know if you were okay after your fans caught up to you."

Killian huffed. "Fans? Is that what we are calling the outcasts that tried to kill me now?"

"Think positive," Evelyn teased, nudging him lightly.

He resisted the urge to smile, and looked forward. The arena had fallen silent. Keith walked into the venue, his phone in his hands.

Killian took his phone, and tapped the 'send' button.

Outside the arena, Keith approached an officiant waiting beside the entrance. He handed over his phone and badge, but paused when his phone beeped.

He reached out again. "One second."

The officiant raised a brow before placing it back in his palm. Keith stared at the phone screen for a brief moment.

A small smile tugged at the corner of his lips. He handed it back to the officiant. "Thank you."

He exhaled softly, straightened his shoulders, and walked into the arena with a steadier stride than before.

Beside Killian, Evelyn's eyes wandered to his phone before he could put it away.

"Don't be reckless. Watch out for invisible attacks. Good Luck." She read it aloud under her breath before looking up at him with an amused smile.

"Are you supporting him?"

"Isn't he my brother?" Killian replied, not meeting her amused gaze. "And I'm not supporting anyone outright. He should just do his best."

"So you do care about that guy." Evelyn leaned back.

Killian locked his phone and slipped it into his pocket. "Concentrate on the match, Evelyn."

"Mhm. I am, I am." She looked forward, resting her chin on her hand, still smiling. "He came looking for me earlier. He wanted a few tips before his match."

Killian turned to her and she noticed a faint crease formed between his brows. She added with a wave.

"Don't worry. I gave him practical tips," she added with a wave. "Hopefully, he puts them to work."

Killian clicked his tongue softly and looked toward the arena. 'So he still did as he wanted even after I warned him?'

"Are you monopolizing your friends?" The Void's chuckle pissed Killian even more than Keith going behind his back. He leaned his head on the chair.

'Don't start judging me.'

The crowd quietened down when the Fire Coordinator stepped out of the arena, signaling it was perfect for the match.

The match Coordinator stepped into the arena a minute later. The two fighters were already standing opposite each other.

Killian and Evelyn pushed themselves forward in their seats, keeping their eyes ahead.

"Is that the guy?" A girl seated in front of them asked her friend. Her friend narrowed her eyes at Keith, before she shook her head.

"No, no, he's the younger twin brother of the guy. I heard they are twins." She smiled. "Do you think this twin is as evil as his older twin bro—"

"Shhh." Evelyn scolded. "Concentrate on the match, ladies."

The girls turned, wearing scowls. "Who do you think you are—" their lips pressed together. They froze on seeing Killian, the guy.

"Ah… move, move." They hurriedly relocated to empty seats in front of theirs.

Killian watched this from his peripheral vision but had no reaction.

'I am the Evil twin? Just because I destroyed a stage? Well, it's good Keith's bad reputation didn't reach the academy.'

His attention returned to the arena. The match Coordinator did his rounds, asking each fighter their region and if they agreed to the match.

As he stepped outside the arena, he raised his hands. He let it down when he was outside.

"Start."
