Chapter 153 153: Ready Or Not!
"Arghh!"
Arisa shrieked, running backwards when the door opened and Killian was the first person he saw.
The boy held his beating chest. He slowly raised his head, staring at Killian's straight expression.
He looked behind Killian and found no one else in the room. He forced a chuckle. "Were you waiting for me, by any chance?"
"I was waiting for Reginald, but I don't have his number. I also found his phone by his bed, so do you know where he's training?" Killian said in one breath.
Arisa stood straight, smiling faintly. "You kinda sound excited. What happened? You wanna train with Reginald? That's what he's looking for now. He wants everyone to train with him."
Killian hummed. 'Nothing might prepare him for Keith's lightning but I could give him a little tip. After all, it isn't fair that Keith already knows who his opponent is.'
"But yeah, he's training at Training Room Red. He will be having his match in less than an hour so hurry."
Killian nodded, and rushed out. "Thanks, Arisa!"
The boy's tensed shoulders loosened as he watched Killian hurry out. "Sure, bye."
Killian found the training room in the same row as the one Theodore had invited him to.
He knocked on the red door, before pushing it open. A girl screamed inside, and reflexively, Killian slammed the door shut. He stopped breathing, resting his ears against the door.
Then he heard Reginald laughing inside, and threw the door open again.
'Is this guy still sounding like a girl while training?'
He looked into the room and sure enough, Reginald was the only one in the room, laughing himself to the ground.
Killian exhaled, walking into the room. "Aren't you having too much fun?"
"Ha…" Reginald caught his breath. "I'm just bored."
"Bored?" Killian looked around the weapon stash on the sides, and the arrow targets hooked on the walls.
The marked cracks on the walls, and random scribbles revealed it was actively used, unlike the training room Theodore's had confined him to.
He turned to Reginald floating on his back, having a steady ripple of wind mana around his body. "You have a match soon. Are you ready for it?"
"Yeah." Reginald raised two fingers. "All set!"
"Hmm…" Killian walked towards him. "Have you thought of the worst possible match-up?"
"Well, probably an Earth Element type." Reginald shrugged. "But I'll manage."
Unsatisfied, Killian asked again. "What about the worst-worst possible match-up?"
Reginald's body reached the twenty-foot-high ceiling, and he lightly pushed himself back down. His body slowly descended like a balloon to Killian. His hands remained folded behind his head.
"Maybe the fire Element? But I'll still manage. I might get a bruise or two, that's all. Best match-up for me would be Water Element, of course. Our friend, Evelyn, gave me good tips," he chuckled, spinning in the air and landing gently. "I should do push-ups again though. There's still time. Want to join?
Killian sighed, watching the boy assume a push-up position. There were multiple possibilities and multiple match-ups for his match yet he only thought of the common basic elements.
And at the same time, not even all of the basic elements, as he never mentioned Light or Lightning.
"What will you do if you are matched with a Sound Element user or a Mist Element user?" Killian bent down beside him. "Do you underestimate them or what?"
Reginald's arm paused midair. He hummed. "Those elements are derived from the Wind element, so I don't think it'll be hard for me. It's definitely going to be a new experience."
He resumed his push-ups with a straight face. "But I feel like the very worst element matchup for me…" he hummed.
Killian nodded. "Is what?"
"Wind Element. If they are as good as me, of course."
Killian slapped his thighs, looking away from the boy. "As if."
Reginald watched Killian stand from his bent position and pace the room twice. "Is there something you want to tell me? Also, after bailing on me yesterday, you are yet to tell me what's up with your brother?"
"Bailing on you?" Killian returned to the same position he had started from. "It's not like that—"
"Please, I don't mind." Reginald rolled to a squatting position. "He's your family so he should be your priority. Is he okay though?"
"You don't look like you care." Killian deadpanned.
Reginald raised a brow. He smirked. "Well, I'm asking because you might? If you don't want to talk about it, then even better."
Silence stretched between them for a while.
"Is Light a bad matchup for you?" Killian asked.
Reginald frowned at the sudden chance of topic. "I guess you'll really not be telling me about it." He was quiet for a while before adding. "Isn't it for everyone?"
That was true.
"Well, the Sound Element will be a harder element to handle than Mist," Killian remembered the Amega training matches he held. "Do you know how to work around it?"
"Spread the sound waves that cause disruption," Reginald answered quickly. "The problem will only be precision, but that's one of my strong suits. I will be alright." He paused, narrowing his eyes at Killian. "Why?"
"What about all of them combined? With a sensation like Fire?" Killian asked, holding Reginald's gaze. "Do you think you can handle someone like that?"
"I don't think there's a Dual Element user, apart from Stance Lancer."
Killian's gaze softened. "Theodore is a Dual Element User?"
"Yeah, and he's had his match already. I also noticed that we Central guys are paired up with you guys from Olpha Region. But you are all done with your matches, right? Theodore's younger brother was the last one, and he fought with my friend from Central."
Killian took a deep breathe, before shaking his head. "He's not the last."
"Who's left?" Reginald folded his arms. "They might not be paired up with me, though. But there's a chance."
"Keith, my twin brother. And yes, there's a good chance that he's paired up with you."
Reginald's grip tightened under his arms. He tilted his neck. "Is that why you were pacing around worriedly?" His voice fell flat, devoid of the usual tease. "Are you worried that I'll hurt your little brother?"
"Keith uses the Lightning Element, Reginald. If I'm a little worried, it is for you." Killian said, even if he knew Reginald wouldn't like it.
