Pregnant Cultivator, Doted by Big Boss

Chapter 260 - 258: The Body in the Ice Coffin Was Taken Over by Jocelyn Grant

「A few months ago.」

After Jocelyn Grant self-detonated her Nascent Soul, Celeste Grant sealed her Primordial Spirit inside a palm-sized wooden puppet. Then, Celeste threw her thousands of miles away. Fortunately, she landed in a Secret Realm.

On a ledge halfway down a cliff.

An Ice Coffin lay here, runes flowing across its surface and an Array set up all around it. This location was a perfect place for nurturing a soul; normally, no one would ever discover it.

Inside the Ice Coffin lay a woman in a white dress. She was exquisitely beautiful, with features as fine as a painting, and her long brown hair was spread out within the coffin. Her eyes were closed and her cheeks were rosy, making her look as though she were merely asleep. It was clear someone had used a Secret Technique to preserve her body perfectly.

Jocelyn Grant, now a wooden puppet, fell from the sky, passed through the Array, and landed on top of the Ice Coffin.

At first, Jocelyn Grant couldn’t control her new body. As a puppet, she could only lie motionlessly on the Ice Coffin, feeling utterly miserable and frustrated, endlessly cursing Celeste Grant.

"Bitch! Bitch!"

"Celeste Grant, you just wait! I won’t let you go. One day, I will completely annihilate your Primordial Spirit!"

Despite her curses, she was overjoyed to see the perfectly preserved body lying in the Ice Coffin.

’The woman in the Ice Coffin was a Cultivator in life. Her corpse hasn’t decayed after death. The body is suffused with Immortal Spirit Qi and still retains the power of the Late-stage Nascent Soul. I can’t sense any Primordial Spirit fluctuations from this female cultivator. The only reason her body is still preserved as it was in life must be because of some Secret Technique or Forbidden Technique, used to nurture a new Primordial Spirit for her.’

’This is a body tailor-made for me.’

At this thought, Jocelyn Grant trembled with excitement and let out a manic laugh.

’The heavens are truly helping me!’

’With this body, I won’t have to start my Cultivation from scratch.’

’You never expected this, did you, Celeste Grant? I am a daughter of destiny! Even after I self-detonated my Nascent Soul and lost my body, I can still find an opportunity like this. What do you have that can compare to me? The next time we meet, I’ll make sure you taste the pain of self-detonating your own Nascent Soul!’

Gazing at the perfect body, Jocelyn Grant was so excited she wanted to possess it immediately, only to discover that her Primordial Spirit was sealed within the wooden puppet. Her Primordial Spirit was currently weak, and without any Cultivation, she couldn’t break free.

’Damn it, I can’t get out.’

’What kind of Sealing Technique did that bitch Celeste Grant use on me?’

She was furious. This feeling of seeing a prize but being unable to claim it was beyond frustrating.

’It’s fine... I can’t be hasty. I can take my time.’ After all, the body was right here in the Ice Coffin; it wasn’t going anywhere. She was certain that sooner or later, she would break free from this puppet prison.

「A few days later.」

Jocelyn Grant began learning to control her puppet body. Once she could move it at will, the palm-sized wooden figure started pacing back and forth on the Ice Coffin.

She lifted an arm and heard the puppet’s joints creak. ’Great! Now I’ll cultivate for a while. Once I break the seal, I can get out.’

The thought of Celeste Grant filled her with extreme hatred.

’In this entire world,’ she thought, ’there is no female cultivator as vicious as Celeste Grant. Some people are just born evil. No wonder she’s willing to associate with Demon Cultivators. One day, I will enforce justice on behalf of the heavens and eliminate that Enchantress.’

Once she could walk and move her limbs, she discovered that the Array here was intricately interlinked. Jocelyn Grant had never seen such an Array before, so although she had gotten in, she couldn’t get out. Her range of movement was limited to the area immediately around the Ice Coffin.

’Since I can’t get out, I might as well cultivate first. Once my Primordial Spirit enters the body in the Ice Coffin, leaving this place will be easy.’

And so, Jocelyn Grant cultivated in this place for several months before finally using a Secret Technique to break the seal.

A circle of runes lit up on the puppet’s body, and her Primordial Spirit emerged from within.

By the time Jocelyn Grant broke the seal and emerged, it was the dead of winter, and snow was falling from the sky.

Snowflakes drifted down, blanketing the landscape in a vast expanse of white. Snow piled up on every branch and fork of the trees. Only the area around the Ice Coffin, protected by the Array, was untouched. The falling snow could not reach it.

Jocelyn Grant’s Primordial Spirit floated above the Ice Coffin, her expression joyous.

"I’m finally out!"

As she spoke, Jocelyn Grant’s Primordial Spirit dove directly into the woman’s body inside the Ice Coffin. Everything was going smoothly at first, but just as she was taking over the female cultivator’s body, she discovered a wisp of a remnant soul sleeping within.

Perhaps sensing an outsider trying to seize its body, the remnant soul’s consciousness awakened. It wanted to expel the invading Primordial Spirit, but it was too weak and couldn’t drive Jocelyn Grant out. Instead, Jocelyn’s Primordial Spirit cornered it, rendering it immobile.

Who are you? This is my body. Please get out.

Jocelyn Grant’s expression turned ugly. She hadn’t expected this body to have actually nurtured a remnant soul, but at this point, she had no intention of giving up.

’I need this body more than she does right now. The original owner is just a remnant soul. Even if she nurtured it for several hundred years, she might never truly wake up. But I’m different. If I have this body, I’ll be able to seek revenge on Celeste Grant. I could even use this body’s Cultivation to reach a higher level.’

With this in mind, she asked, "This body is yours?"

The wisp of a remnant soul was furious.

"If it’s not mine, is it yours?"

Jocelyn Grant grew angry. ’This woman is so obnoxious, just like Celeste Grant. She’s probably not a good person either.’

Thinking this, she said, "You’re just a remnant soul right now; you might not even be able to wake up. How about this: lend me your body for now. When I find a new one, I’ll return it to you. Or, let’s make a deal. Tell me your last wish, and I can fulfill it for you. Just give me the body."

The remnant soul, cornered in a part of the body, refused. "No. This is my body. Why should I give it to you?"

The other was completely unwilling.

She had been doing just fine here. In a few hundred years, she would surely have been able to reawaken. On what grounds did this foreign Primordial Spirit think it could take her body, and with such self-righteousness? She didn’t owe this intruder anything.

"Since you’re being so unreasonable, don’t blame me for what happens next."

Jocelyn Grant gave her no chance to refuse, moving to obliterate her directly.

The body’s original remnant soul was very weak. Knowing it was no match for her, it could only use a Forbidden Technique to dissipate, but in reality, it had escaped.

Watching the remnant soul dissipate, Jocelyn Grant felt a twinge of pity. But she said aloud, "I’m sorry, but I have to get my revenge. I have a child waiting for me. Don’t worry. Now that I have your body, I will take care of your family and avenge you."

’This was the only thing she could do for her.’

’This way, it can be considered an equal exchange, right?’

With this thought, Jocelyn Grant’s conscience was immediately clear, and she placidly occupied the other’s body, merging with it completely. At that very moment, the person in the Ice Coffin slowly opened her eyes.
