Villain: Supreme Parasite System in Another World

Chapter 119: Road to Power Part 9

Three hours.

For most disasters, that sounded like a short amount of time.

For Verak, it was enough to reshape a nation.

The room

Nobody needed an explanation.

Everyone present understood the same thing.

If the King Beast kept moving unchecked for three hours, the damage would exceed every acceptable limit.

Humanity might be forced to activate its worst-case contingency plan—launching multiple evacuation rockets into space and preserving as many important leaders, scientists, and specialists as possible.

Nobody wanted such an outcome.

The plan existed only because Lucien was willing to sacrifice the entire nation if it meant winning the war.

As far as Lucien was concerned, losing the country was acceptable.

On the ground.

The giant scorpion stood inside the crater, black blood dripping from dozens of wounds as the earth around it continued to crack apart.

Then one of the analysts suddenly spoke.

"Sir, it's not advancing."

Lucien looked over.

"What?"

The analyst pointed at the satellite feed.

"It's staying in the same location."

Several officers immediately checked their own displays.

The coordinates remained unchanged.

Verak wasn't moving. It simply stood there.

The ground beneath it continued trembling, but the King itself showed no sign of moving.

Lucien narrowed his eyes. "Magnify the image."

The satellite feed zoomed closer.

The wounds left by the orbital bombardment were extensive.

Entire sections of its armored shell were missing.

One of its legs appeared partially shattered.

But something else caught Lucien's attention.

The King looked unstable.

Its body swayed slightly.

"Sir..."

Another analyst spoke.

"We're detecting abnormal biological activity."

The analyst swallowed.

"The life signs are fluctuating."

Several scientists immediately turned toward their consoles.

The readings made no sense.

One moment it's biological activity spiked.

The next it dropped. Then it rose again.

The pattern repeated over and over.

As if multiple things inside the creature were fighting each other.

Meanwhile, thousands of kilometers away, Francis smiled.

Through the General he had infected; he learned that most of the orbital cannons were currently occupied dealing with another King.

Even the surveillance satellites that normally watched the city around the clock had been reassigned to monitor the battlefield.

For him, it was the perfect opportunity.

No one was looking in his direction. No one knew what he was preparing.

And by the time they did, it would already be too late.

Slowly closing his eyes, he extended his consciousness outward.

The world around him seemed to fade away as countless invisible connections spread from his mind. They stretched through streets, buildings, offices, military facilities, hospitals, schools, and residential districts until they reached every infected individual hidden within the city.

Ten thousand was his current simultaneous connection limit, but the network itself contained over a million infected humans.

It doesn't matter because he only needs to give a command.

Workers sat behind office desks.

Police officers patrolled the streets.

Soldiers guarded military checkpoints.

Doctors treated patients.

Students attended classes.

To everyone around them, they looked completely normal.

None of them knew they had already become part of his network.

A faint smile appeared on Francis's face.

"Let's begin."

Immediately, commands started flowing through the connections.

The instructions were simple.

Every command consisted of three parts.

What. When. How.

The first determined the action.

The second determined the trigger.

The third determined the method.

Simple instructions were always the most effective.

Nearly twenty minutes passed before Francis finally finished issuing commands to the million infected under his control.

"Now. Let's see how well humanity handles a war on two fronts."

Defense Force Headquarters continued operating as usual.

Despite the ongoing King Beast attack, the massive military complex remained active twenty-four hours a day.

Officers moved between departments carrying reports, technicians monitored surveillance systems, and communication personnel worked nonstop to coordinate operations across the city.

The atmosphere was tense, but orderly.

Everyone understood the importance of their jobs.

Occasionally, faint tremors shook the facility as aftershocks from the distant battlefield reached the city. However, nobody paid much attention to them anymore due to the news reassuring the people.

Inside one of the administrative wings, Agent Claire leaned comfortably against her chair while enjoying a cup of iced tea.

For the first time in hours, she had managed to find a few minutes of peace.

The cold drink was refreshing enough to almost make her forget the mountain of paperwork waiting on her desk.

Almost.

She had just taken another sip when movement at the end of the hallway caught her attention.

Several people were walking toward her.

At first, she didn't think much of it.

The headquarters was always busy, and it wasn't unusual for personnel to approach her with questions or requests.

However, as the group drew closer, something immediately felt wrong.

Their expressions were empty.

The kind of expression she would expect from sleepwalkers rather than trained personnel.

Claire lowered her drink.

The feeling in her stomach grew stronger.

Five Janitors

Six security guards.

Several office workers.

More people appeared behind them, emerging from nearby hallways and side corridors.

All of them were moving toward her.

None of them were speaking.

The distance between them rapidly closed.

Claire stood from her chair.

"What's going on?"

Nobody answered.

The janitor suddenly lunged.

Years of combat training immediately took over.

Claire jumped backward as the attacker crashed into her desk, sending paperwork flying everywhere.

"What the hell?!"

Before she could fully process what had happened more people rushed toward her.

Their movements were clumsy and uncoordinated, yet completely fearless.

The sight sent a chill down her spine. They were trying to bite her.

Claire's eyes widened, and she quickly grab her whip.

CRACK!

The whip struck the floor with enough force to leave a visible mark.

"STOP!"

Her voice echoed throughout the hallway.

But they kept advancing.

One woman tripped over a chair and smashed face-first into the ground. Blood immediately began flowing from her broken nose.

She didn't even react.

Instead, she pushed herself forward and continued crawling toward Claire. The sight was horrifying.

"What is wrong with you people?"

No one answered her.

More personnel emerged from every direction.

Ten.

Twenty.

Thirty.

The corridor was quickly filling with bodies.

She swung her whip again.

CRACK!

It wrapped around a man's leg before tightening suddenly, wrenching the limb sideways with enough force to shatter bone.

The man collapsed.

Then, to Claire's horror, he continued crawling toward her using only his arms.

"What the hell. Zombies?"

The entire headquarters was under attack.

Unfortunately, it wasn't just the headquarters.

The same scene was unfolding throughout the city.

In hospitals, patients suddenly attacked nurses and doctors.

In government buildings, employees turned on coworkers without warning.

Inside police stations, officers found themselves fighting the very people they had worked beside for years.

Traffic intersections became killing grounds as infected drivers deliberately crashed vehicles into crowds.

Shopping centers descended into chaos.

Schools entered emergency lockdown.

Emergency services were overwhelmed within minutes.

Thousands of incidents erupted simultaneously.

This was all according to Francis's plan.

The outbreak itself was never his true objective. Chaos was merely the first step.

By throwing the entire city into disorder, he could overwhelm communication networks, occupy the Defense Force, and prevent accurate information from reaching the outside world.

And while everyone struggled to contain the chaos, he would quietly accomplish his real goal.

The infected civilians rampaging across the city were not attacking at random. Hidden among the countless targets were specific individuals that Francis had marked long ago—people whose bodies had proven resistant to his parasites, or those who had somehow escaped infection altogether.

Such individuals represented uncertainty.

And he hated uncertainty.

While the city focused on surviving the outbreak, his infected pawns were already hunting them.

Members of the Defense Force.

Independent Special Categories.

Even Dark Chain members.

Anyone capable of resisting him had been placed on the list.

By the time they realized the true purpose behind the outbreak, it would already be too late. The people most capable of stopping him would already be dead.

And just to be safe, Francis had deliberately made the infected behave like zombies.

It was a simple but effective layer of deception.

Even if news of the outbreak somehow reached the outside world, the first conclusion people would reach was obvious—a virus.

A biological outbreak was terrifying, but it was still something humanity understood. They would search for a cure, establish quarantine zones, and treat the situation as a medical disaster.

That outcome was far preferable to the truth.

The moment people discovered that he could completely control humans through his parasites, everything would change.

Time continued to pass as he observed the chaos unfolding through countless pairs of eyes

The city had become hell.

Fires burned across multiple districts. Emergency sirens echoed nonstop through the streets. Every few minutes, another report reached him through his network as more facilities fell into disorder.

Most importantly, his elimination campaign was succeeding.

One after another, Special Categories were being cornered and killed.

Some died fighting.

Others never even realized they were targets until it was too late.

Every death brought a smile to his face.

However, as he continued monitoring the city, something strange caught his attention.

A large number of his infected pawns were dying too quickly.

Francis frowned.

At first, he assumed they had encountered a particularly powerful Special Category. That wasn't unusual. Even with overwhelming numbers, some possessed abilities capable of slaughtering dozens of infected at once.

Curious, Francis shifted his focus and began investigating.

Following the trail, he shifted his consciousness from one infected host to the next until he finally found what he was looking for.

"Is this fate?" he muttered aloud.
