Meanwhile, Gu Yu and Fang Xiang, who had been dreaming of becoming Elders, were also frozen in place. They couldn't fathom how the situation had been so ruthlessly reversed in an instant.

One moment they were people of merit, and the next they had become criminals in the eyes of the entire Moon Shaking Immortal Palace!

Thinking of how Moon Shaking Immortal Palace dealt with traitors, both of them shuddered.

Han Mei lifted her head, her eyes now brimming with venomous hatred. She stared at Elder Yongchun and asked slowly, "Why?"

"Because you violated the sect rules!" Elder Yongchun said faintly, her gaze lowered. She knew Han Mei was asking why she was being targeted, but she had no desire to answer such a foolish question.

'Why? You should be asking yourself! Don't you know why?' Elder Yongchun had no patience for this. She had no interest in even speaking to such a selfish and narrow-minded person. Someone like that was not fit to be the Saintess of Moon Shaking Immortal Palace! And she certainly shouldn't become the Sect Leader!

"Fine. Fine!" Han Mei quickly raised her head again. The fear and venom in her eyes had vanished, replaced by a deep-seated hatred. She turned to Qin Li and said, "Qin Li, you have some impressive methods. I'm truly impressed! I truly am. To be defeated by you so many times... I, Han Mei, admit defeat! However, Qin Li, you'd do well to remember this. Between us, this isn't over until one of us is dead!"

With that, Han Mei slowly knelt before Mingyue Ascendant. Two streams of tears flowed down her cheeks as she choked out, "Master, I have failed you. No matter how you see me now, in my heart, you will always be the best person!"

Han Mei then kowtowed three times to Mingyue Ascendant, stood up, and said, "Since I've been expelled from Moon Shaking Immortal Palace, shouldn't my things be returned to me?"

Mingyue Ascendant was silent for a long moment before finally saying, "Go get the item Han Mei turned in and return it to her!"

Elder Hu hesitated. "But..."

Mingyue Ascendant sighed heavily. "What use do we have for that thing? We have no desire to conquer the world, nor do we seek some peerless treasure. Just... consider it a bit of selfishness on my part. Give it back to her!"

"Understood," Elder Hu said grimly, turning to leave.

A short while later, he returned with a wooden box and handed it to Han Mei. She casually stored the box in her Spatial Ring, ignoring the greedy glints in the eyes of the Hai family members. With a cold smile, she turned and walked away.

Gu Yu and Fang Xiang exchanged a look and said in unison, "Miss, we'll go with you!"

Han Mei paused. "Have you decided?" she asked faintly.

"We have. We will follow you even in death, Miss!" Gu Yu declared loudly.

Han Mei's expression softened slightly. She understood that if these two maids remained at Moon Shaking Immortal Palace, nothing good would come of it. Now that she was leaving, she would need someone by her side to serve her. They had been with her for many years and knew her needs best.

"Alright, let's go then." Han Mei didn't look at anyone else, because she knew that not even the old ancestors of Moon Shaking Immortal Palace could stop this from happening. Rather than stay here and be humiliated, it was better to leave quickly.

As she reached the entrance of the great hall, Han Mei turned sideways to glance at Qin Li and said coldly, "Qin Li, just you wait!"

At this moment, the few old ancestors of Moon Shaking Immortal Palace all felt they had lost face. They had originally considered just leaving, but seeing Qin Li, they exchanged glances. One of them spoke with a sneer, "Yongchun, now that you've flexed your might and cleaned up Moon Shaking Immortal Palace's traitors on the Palace Master's behalf, shouldn't we discuss just what is going on with this young man next to you?"

"He is my disciple," Elder Yongchun replied, her tone as calm as ever. Hai Yufeng, who had been silent for a long time, now spoke up. "Yongchun, must you be like this? Why would you involve yourself for the sake of some piece of scum that everyone in the outside world wants dead? Let me be frank. Today, no matter what, we are taking this man!"

Hai Yufeng smiled slightly and nodded. "I was just thinking the same thing!"

"And if you lose?" A provocative glint appeared in Yongchun's pure eyes.

"Impossible!" Hai Yufeng said with extreme confidence. "I can't possibly lose!"

"Is that so? If you lose, you will immediately get the hell out of Moon Shaking Immortal Palace! And stop coming here to put on airs in the future!" Yongchun said coldly, without a shred of politeness.

"Alas, Yongchun, we haven't seen each other in years. Must you be so heartless? Fine. If I lose to you, I will never set foot in Moon Shaking Immortal Palace again. However, this person..." Hai Yufeng said, pointing a finger at Qin Li, "he must also remain in Moon Shaking Immortal Palace forever!"

"What do you mean?" Yongchun stared coldly at Hai Yufeng.

Hai Yufeng said, "My Hai Family wants this person eliminated! The moment he steps outside of Moon Shaking Immortal Palace, he will die!"
